2017 Epcot International Food and Wine Festival: August 31, 2017 - November 13, 2017

My son who is graduating from HS this year is quite the foodie so he is going to love this trip! We'll be staying at the Ft.Wilderness Cabins 9/11-20 to celebrate! We "just' missed the F&W Fest during our last trip as they had the booths all set up. It definitely peaked our interest and we're excited to see what it's all about and spend a relaxing day snacking around the world. It never dawned on me to check out the concerts before reading this thread. I'm sure my teens will love that too! I may have to rethink our plans to accommodate for musical taste as well ;) we were planning on going on a Thursday but I'm sure the kids will have a voice in that now.

I need to follow along for the year!

I'm there August 31st to September 3rd with my mother (off-site at the Ritz)

I'm also there Nov 2nd to 6th at Boardwalk with my husband for Wine & Dine

Going Oct 22-28 at BWV, yay! Went last year but only had a day for F&W since it was DGS first trip and we focused on MK and AK so really looking forward to an adult only trip this year!
Anxious for the seminar schedules to be posted, we always do a couple.

DH & I are going for our 5th anniversary and as a distraction for being first time empty nesters-but are very excited that it's F&W time!!

I'd love to surprise DH with some sort of celebrity chef event (he's an amazing cook and would love it). I'll be following this thread!!

Our first F&W was Nov. 2015 after our one & only went away to his first year of college!! DH had a conference at CSR (we found out right after DS left for college) and I didn't want to stay home alone missing DS so I tagged along (we already had AP's so it was a no-brainer). Now we're going for our 3rd time this Sept-Oct!!

Im so nervous about doing F&W on 10/1 Epcots 35th hmmm

OH!! Oct. 1st is our last day!! We fly home late that night!! Excited to see if we can get a special pin or something!!

Excited! Booked Oct 21 - Nov 2!!!

was not going back until NYE but really want to go in October. Hum... now do I cancel December??? Not yet for sure.

Does anyone know if Dennis DeYoung (Styx) is playing the food F&W this year? If yes, do you have the dates?

Thanks

I've never been during the Food & Wine Festival before - I'm so excited!
Last year it started a few days after we left :(

I've heard that there really isn't a lot of wine for this to be a Food & Wine Festival? Hoping that is not the case!

You're in for a treat!! Admittedly the one year I went I was disappointed with the wines, only found 1 that I really liked. But I don't think it was due to lack of variety- probably had more to do with me ODing on sugary cocktail drinks totally messing up my ability to taste anything else! Here's a link to last year's menu to give you an idea of how much, and what types of, wine they have had: http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2016-epcot-food-and-wine-festival-booths-menus-and-food-photos/

Wonderful! Now time to stock up on GCs to pay for all my beverages

He seems to play F&W consistently so I'd pencil him in as "rumored". We won't know the full lineup til July but your best bet is to follow most of the artists from last year to see when they drop their summer tour dates. So far Hanson has been the only one to drop their schedule plus their IPA MmmHops has been at the fest since 2014.

If I remember right, wasn't he the one who was supposed to be there this year, but got sick at the last minute? If so, I'd love to see him next year-we're going that same week.

Yes, Dennis is the one who was sick last year...he is so great to see in concert!!! We plan our Fall trips around him and were so disappointed he was sick last year. I see this year he was just there for the flower and garden concert series..I dont know if he has ever done the garden concerts and Im hoping this does not mean he wont be there in the fall!! And unfortunately, his own website does not go too far out with his schedule, which makes it hard to plan a trip around him!

CAN'T WAIT FOR MY THIRD FOOD AND WINE! Will be spending two trips with this! One in early September, one in early October!
Well, I'm certainly envious! I'd love to do this. I'm hoping one day I can do a 10 day trip to the festival - right now work schedules and the budget will not allow it.

I'm incredibly lucky to have gotten a new job and one that pays MUCH more than my last one! The hours are crazy and my Labor Day weekend trip is only four days and the other is my actual vacation, but all the hours are worth it to be in the position I'm in now! Can't wait to see who will be Eat to the Beat this year!

haha, my entire trip is 5 days over labor day... definitely jealous of a "actual" wdw vacation! ;)

Next time I come it WILL be a long one (of course I keep saying that and here we are...)

Your other upcoming trips look so awesome!! Little bit of pixie dust spread throughout the world and throughout the year, I love it!

Now planning my fourth trip during Food & Wine Festival. :tigger:

We were "blessed" with a visit from Hurricane Matthew last year. Worst weather I ever experienced during a Disney trip. When it wasn't raining, it was hot as Hades. Obviously hoping for better weather this year.

The other thing I'm hoping for is the jalapeño margarita. Those were so enjoyable. My sister-in-law and I split a few of those sampler coupons to buy them. Couldn't get enough.

Another Disboards original here and we were also there during Matthew! Honestly, we wondered what the hullabaloo was all about--we've had much nastier weather (an August adventure with 70º temps and nothing but rain, 10 solid days of torrential rain one May--I believe that year broke a record for number of consecutive days of torrential, nonstop downpours--oh and, BTW, "it never rains like this in May" :rolleyes1, according to folks who live there, several tropical storms and another minor hurricane) and the weather post-Matthew was not all that warm compared to prior visits. Wishing you good luck on your next visit and since we will be back in May, June and October, I am keeping my fingers crossed for no repeats of past experiences! :worship:
