2017 DISNEYLAND RESORT HALLOWEEN TIME / MICKEY'S HALLOWEEN PARTY THREAD!

I can see how there is confusion about MHP and the 2 parks. The text that mummabear found (and pasted here in this thread a page or two ago) was worded in such a way to make it sound like DCA would be directly involved in the party. But then the wording elsewhere made it seem as though it is, indeed, Disneyland only.

We have not gotten the announcement about it from the Parks Blog yet. Erin mentioned it in the Parks Blog last year. This year, so far we have only seen the Halloween info from the Disneyland website. But you will be able to order your tickets with your Disney Visa on Monday.

There has not been an "announcement." That's what people are not realizing. The Parks Blog has not done their Halloween Time announcement yet, and that is where the Disney Visa reference would be. The only info we have gotten has been from the Disneyland website. That's info on a website, not a press release or a blog.
OH!! No wonder I kept having to come back to the DIS for the link- I just thought I was 100% incompetent at finding the post on the parks blog. I didn't even realize that was the Disneyland website. Thank god it's Sat & I'm not working! I'd make way too many mistakes!

Really want to hear about the Blue Bayou Halloween dining party package. Is that completely new?

It's for the parade viewing I believe, which they did last year and most people felt it had little value as parade seating wasn't too difficult to find.

It's an easy assumption to make (that there has been an announcement). Generally, the Parks Blog does make an announcement, and the MHP details are up on the DLR website right around the same time. This time around, the website update showed up before the Parks Blog news has been announced, and there has been a flurry of Expo-related news leaking out too, which is raising lots of questions (particularly, Pixar Pier).

Well, just when I had decided to go for Christmas instead of Halloween they go make things just a little too tempting!! Looks like my family will be heading to Disneyland for just the party and we'll come home the next day. We'll still save our big trip for Christmas but I soooooo want to see DCA Halloweened up!

Party at both parks!

Darn I misread and was super excited!

Do you think DCA is just an extra perk or will it be closed too unless you have the Halloween night ticket?

I was thinking originally the party was at both parks, maybe there is access to both parks during the whole night? (Although if there is nothing special there why would you)
maybe the old toontown pre party will be held there?

Did I count correctly, or did I miss something? Are there only 14 party nights this year (down from 17 last year)?

I am surprised that thy a)cut nights and b) those didn't come from the start date-in fact that was stretched earlier.

The after-hours party will still only be at Disneyland.

Your ticket lets you enjoy both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park for up to 3 hours before Mickey’s Halloween Party starts. Then you’ll be trick-or-treated to 5 hours of fright-astic fun at Disneyland Park, including special Halloween-themed attractions, Character Greetings, fireworks, the Ride of the Headless Horseman and more.

How cool would have a 2 park party been!

It is a tough dilemma, indeed! Although I am so thankful that, at long last, Halloween is returning in some way to DCA (after really lacking in Halloween fun for years), I would still tend to think that the holiday season will be much more immersive and extensive in terms of decor and celebrations. But this Halloween development is a big step in the right direction, for sure!

How do the AP discounts work exactly? I will be buying 5 party tickets- 3 for my husband, son and I (who all have APs), and two for my mom and sister, who don't have passes and will be joining us for our October trip. Will I be able to purchase the extra two tickets at a discount as well?

Yes. If you choose one of the discounted nights (and it doesn't look like there are as many this year) and order all 5 of your tickets online via whatever link is provided for AP holders, all of the tickets that you buy will be discounted. If you go on a non-discounted night, all of the tickets will be that price.

Just in case there is a problem with the link or the website, you might have to call and try to order that way -- but make sure you have your AP in hand.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong (I hope I am!) but it doesn't look like there are any AP discounts for any of the October parties. Only for a few of the earlier September parties.

Awesome! Thanks for the info!

You are totally right! We had intended to go the first week of October, but it looks like we will go the last week in September instead! We are trying to milk all of the savings we can out of our annual passes.

So there is nothing about gog overlay...am I safe to assume gog won't be getting overlay? Wouldn't they have announced it if it were?

I think that would have been a pretty big announcement for Halloween and it is nowhere on the site either with all of the other Halloween details, so I think it is safe to say, no, not this year anyways.

The price HIKE is HUGE!
I'm wondering if the October dates not having the tiered pricing is a typo?
It seems odd that only Sept dates would have tiered pricing....
I'm hoping for a price correction when the blog announcement comes out.

The Parks Blog has not yet done their official blog about Halloween Time and Mickey's Halloween Party, nor have they done a separate blog to include the news of the Cars Land and California Adventure Halloween decorations, etc. Most of what we see in the blog (on Monday or whenever it comes out) will be what is currently on the DLR website now, but there is a slight chance they could elaborate on some things and give some extra details.

I watched the Expo presentation online, and there was nothing that clearly made me think there would be ride overlays on either RSR in Cars Land OR on the Guardians ride. All that was said about Cars Land was that it would get a full Halloween makeover, No specifics on ride overlays.

From what is said on the DLR website now, it looks like at least 2 of the 3 Cars Land rides will have some sort of decorations and/or music, but nothing about a RSR overlay requiring a closure or anything. And nothing about the Guardians ride.

So I would say no, it doesn't look like Guardians or RSR are getting the rumored overlays this year, most likely. We'll see, though. This year is so odd with the timing of the news, and the delayed Parks Blog announcement, and the Wednesday night MHP start date, and the later start date to Halloween Time, etc. Everything seems askew! Who knows what will happen?

Hmmmm looks like we will have to hit the Fri Oct 27th party if we do it. $600cdn for a family of 4???? Ouch. Wonder if it is worth it. That's a lot of money. With it being the Friday night before Halloween and less party dates prior to it I wonder if it will be a packed nightmare? Ours boys are 9 and 12. Will mostly want to do the rides that night not big parade fans or trick or treaters. Gosh what to do :/

Holy moly, the Halloween party tickets have gone up a lot in a couple of years! Just 2 or 3 years ago, wasn't it about $79/person? Now it's $95-$120/person! Makes me very un-interested in going to Disneyland in September or October when they have the Halloween party nights.

Last year we went to two parties and I paid $72 per person with my AP discount! our parties were on Monday and Wednesday nights in mid October, now it's $105 per person for around those same days!
our family of three can't afford the additional $90+ it would be for us to attend one party! Especially coming from Canada :guilty:

I'm so sad about prices too..... We are there Oct 20 to 29 we wanted to hit two parties... but for a party of 4 that will cost us $900!!!! No Way! This is the cost for a full AP and spare change. No advance price discount, no AP price discount.. this is very sad

I know! For a family of 5 this is steep!

So I am now seriously trying to work out whether we do both the 20th and the 22nd or just one. And if I do one, I wanted the 22nd because it was our last night and a good way to finish the trip but the 20th is cheaper....

If I did do a 2nd that would certainly it be the nail the coffin for the WOac dessert party....
