2017 DISNEYLAND RESORT HALLOWEEN TIME / MICKEY'S HALLOWEEN PARTY THREAD!

does anyone know when the small world would usually go down for the holiday overlay?

figment_jii probably has the date that it went down last year, but it's always sometime within the last couple of weeks of October. It is closed for about 17-ish days (or 2-1/2 weeks), and it usually soft opens as It's a Small World Holiday before the holiday season officially begins.

Bored. waiting for the announcement, so I am gonna ask a question, just to be asking. Use your crystal ball. What time do you think a party would start on a Wednesday. We fly in at 11 to LAX. by the time we get to the hotel and could be at the park it will be about 1ish. if we could go into the park at 3 then i don't think it would be worth it to buy a regular park admission for two hours. Although, i am buying 3 day park hoppers and it would only be 20$ more per person for 5 people. (the other people in our group have annual passes but don't want to go in without everybody)
Also, I want to buy 11 tickets for our group, will they let me buy that many?

I know a couple others already responded, but we had a similar set up in 2015, where we were at our hotel by early afternoon. They let us drop our bags, and we went to grab some lunch at DTD. Once our room was ready, we changed at got in line for the 4pm opening on a Friday afternoon. So I would definitely plan for your day to NOT need to buy a separate park ticket, but just take advantage of the early admission allowed with a party ticket. :maleficen

Following along! We are stopping off for a 3 night visit on our way to WDW where we are going to a party 10/13. We weren't planning on a DLR party but just heard from some very good friends who will be there the same time as us. We met at a party in 2015 and are going to relive that night 2 years later! Likely to be going Friday 9/29 (assuming there is a party that night), or possibly 9/27 if there is a Wednesday party. That is the day we arrive though after a 12 hour flight soa party that night could be pushing it!

WOW!:hyper: I read everything this morning and I checked this board again at 6pm and there was about 2 and half pages to read! I can't wait to see the dates so I can show my friend Lori so we can choose a date to go. Most of my costumes are done. I have one more unitard to paint and one more leg warmer pair to make then I'm done for this year. What costume I don't wear this year I will wear next year for MHP.

Oh.... you didn't miss much. Let me recap for you -- and anyone just now tuning in...

The Halloween Time season starts on Friday, September 15th, but the Parks Blog hasn't announced it. Though the start date was posted on the Disney Visa Debit/Credit Card site, the Parks Blog hasn't announced it.

Mickey's Halloween Party tickets apparently go on sale to AP/DVC/Disney Visa folks in three days (Monday, 7/17) -- AND this info was posted on the Disneyland website and then swiftly taken down -- but the Parks Blog hasn't announced it.

Mickey's Halloween Party tickets apparently go on sale to the general public in 10 days (Monday, 7/24) -- AND this info was posted on the Disneyland website and then swiftly taken down -- but the Parks Blog hasn't announced it.

The MHP ticket sale dates are also on the Facebook page for Anaheim Desert Inn & Suites (still there!)... but the Parks Blog still hasn't announced it.

The Parks Blog also hasn't announced the specific dates of MHP, so we have no clue how many nights there will be this year, what the prices will be, if there are any changes, etc.

Rumor has it that the first MHP night might be on a day other than a Friday... but the Parks Blog hasn't announced it.

The Parks Blog also hasn't announced or confirmed/denied the rumors of the 2 ride overlays in DCA.

Essentially, any Halloween Time-related sentence you can think of, just add "...the Parks Blog hasn't announced it..." to the beginning or end of it, and that's the latest news right there. :badpc:

Hi everybody
I'm on the Wonder sailing Oct 1 and hoping to go to the Halloween party the weekend before to kick off our Disney week. Looks like its been an exciting couple of days waiting for news and getting nothing from Disney officially! Hope we know soon!

Haunted Mansion shows hours for Sat Aug 26th but from 8am-12am. Does that mean it's only open for the morning and then it closes for the overlay? Seems strange they would close it mid day.

I'm kind of hoping they have a Sunday party, because that would work really well for us, but if not, we'll do a regular one. I'm excited to be coming back for HalloweenTime with my kids this year.

I thought I had caught up on this thread but apparently I missed something. Sherry E I love your post above but it would take up too much space to quote, what is the 2nd ride rumored to get an overlay at DCA? I only saw RSR. Thanks!

MiceChat (the hub of most good rumors) was the site where the Disneyland Rumor Update article was published a couple of weeks back -- http://micechat.com/165197-miceage-disneyland-rumor-update-max-pass/ (See the "Halloween in Transition" section.)

Since the rumors of the Guardians and RSR overlays are fairly new (I think?) and came out close to when the Parks Blog announcement of Halloween Time will happen, I tend to believe the rumors are probably accurate for the most part (with maybe a few slight variations). If these overlay rumors had come out in 2016 and had not been mentioned again since, I might be skeptical at this time. But since they are recent -- or at least recently re-mentioned, if they had ever been mentioned in the past -- I tend to think they might be legitimate.

I'm not really sure how extensive the Guardians overlay would be -- I kind of think that it will not be that big. The RSR overlay might be bigger, but the concept seems kind of awkward in the way it is described in the article. Hopefully it translates better in person -- and it would mean that Cars Land would get the Halloween decorations I have wanted in that land for several years!

Man if tickets for us APs really do go on sale Monday they sure are dragging out the announcement. Leads me to think they are definitely going to drop the rsr and gotg overlay at D23 then hit the blog at the same time

I agree.

So do we think it is coming out at todays Parks and Resorts Panel?

Sounds like that should be within the next couple of hours....

I distinctly remember prior to Cars Land opening reading they had Halloween and Christmas decorations ready for the land. The Christmas part was true and I've never understood why Halloween never came to pass. Maybe they've had decorations as great as the Christmas ones sitting in a warehouse waiting for... something. Or maybe they'll stick a witch hat on a cozy cone and call it day. Hopefully it's the former.

IF the 2 overlays are going to be announced at the Expo, then I suppose the news would break during the Walt Disney Parks and Resorts presentation -- which is today, from 3 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.?? I don't see another panel or presentation where I think the overlay announcements would necessarily fit (today or tomorrow), but that doesn't mean anything. Sometimes I think that all of the exciting news will be lumped into one specific presentation/panel, but then it ends up getting split up over 3 days.

I can see a scenario in which the Guardians overlay could be mentioned at the Expo, and I guess RSR too (though I would not have contemplated that scenario in the past). I'm not sure why that announcement would or should delay a blog about the Halloween Party tickets going on sale, though.

If the party is not moving to DCA this year and is staying in Disneyland, then I don't know why they couldn't have put out a quick article a few days ago, to prepare people for the MHP tickets to go on sale. The ride overlays would not have anything to do with the specific party if the party stays in DL in 2017 (unless I am overlooking something). The ride overlays would have something to do with the Halloween Time season in general, though.

The Parks Blog could have done a blog that said "MHP tickets go on sale on Monday," and then added in some text about how there would be a bigger Halloween Time announcement next week, or "Stay tuned for details on some exciting Halloween news!" But they didn't. That's what doesn't make sense. And then to yank down the MHP sale dates from the website so quickly seems extreme too -- unless those sale dates are not accurate, for some reason. I guess they just want to be able to make the announcement before anyone starts calling the ticket lines and demanding Halloween info from the CMs!:rotfl:

Maybe they plan to say something in the Parks Blog about the party moving to DCA next year, but they can't get into that until after the Expo.

Or... it could just be that the Parks Blog folks have been busy preparing for the Expo and their related blogs, and haven't had time to get to Halloween yet...

Sherry E- I was just posting about the expo at the same time :)

I dont even want to think that we might have to wait even longer!
