I booked mine on Oct 30, 2015, and believe that was the last day to book.

Yes - unless you were at POP and forced the issue because they put the wrong paperwork in the rooms and ALOT of people were calling and complaining and they did it for you anyway.

Did you book it in November then? I know a lot of times there are overlapping bouncebacks.

I understand that. They do still know that you have x number adults and x number kids and they can tell you at the point of sale that you cannot get x+1,2,3 or more adult meals because you only have x adults. What opened this wide up was their decision to allow DDP users to use their credits for people not on the plan. That is what allows you to get adult meals with kid credits, because you can buy x+1,2,3 adult meals at one time. Since they do not keep the adult and child QS separate AT THIS TIME, it is a loop hole they have created. If/when they decide they don't like giving away adult meals for the child price, they will fix the system either by separating the credits or reinstating the "rule" of not using DDP for others not on the plan.

I understand what you are saying and in theory you are correct. However, I doubt that you would be questioned if you purchased four adult quick serve when there are two adults and two children. Of course if you are going through the line with the two kids perhaps they question it. In any event hopefully they leave it alone and let you get either adult or children quick serves.

Yes - were able to get it anyway, but ended up having to cancel our vacation about a month ago due to my husband being diagnosed with MS and we are having to use all of his PTO for DR appointments - so none left over for a (much needed at this point) vacation

You are correct, in general and it might have even been policy, the CM's did not question people purchasing more adult credits at one time than how many adults they had in their party. Really in theory, they didn't have a lot to stand on even if they wanted to (not that questioning guests is really Disney's MO to begin with), as one of the major advertisements of the dining plan was that you could use your credits at anytime, however you pleased, so unless they could actually track the number of adult credits you used, they couldn't justify telling you you couldn't purchase more than the number of adults on your plan at one time.

Maybe I’m missing something. It seems Disney could track this very easily IF they wanted to. They know how many adults and children in your reservation, therefore they know how many adult QS vs child QS credits you should start with. It doesn’t matter WHO you’re ordering for, but if you order 2 kids meals they could subtract 2 child credits or if you order 2 adult meals they could subtract 2 adult credits. Regardless of who you’re ordering them for. It wouldn’t be difficult at all to track, so clearly Disney doesn’t care to do that or they would be already.

Oh, I completely agree. Some ppl. used to argue that CM's were not supposed to allow you to order more adult meals than the number of adults on your reservation at the same time, however we've never encountered that and we've had plenty of CM's offer us to order more adult meals instead of kid meals when we have ordered over the years. After talking with different CM's, it seems that it was/is basically known that CM's weren't to question what a guest ordered in this type of situation. I also agree that it would be very easy for Disney to track it if they wanted to, so it must not be a big deal to them either.

At QS only, kids can order from the kids menu or adults menu.

The dining brochure still states "kids must order from the kid's menu where available," BUT they are not enforcing it at most QS places. They could put it back into practice at any time.

Thank you both. We have a Disney adult who is 10 and a Disney child 8. I love the idea of them sharing an adult QS meal for lunch and sharing an adult breakfast with the extra credit! Thank you for the replies. That's what I meant by the plan being 'profitable'.

Yay!!! That is a wonderful way to pass the time!!!! I hate waiting for doctors!!!

Just checking in to see if anything was new.

We changed our dates to Oct1-10th and I couldn't find a standard room for a moderate for those dates :(. So confused as to what to do now.

We booked for the same dates and couldn't find any mods with a standard room. I'm hoping this means they are holding back the standard rooms for the free dining promotion, lol.

Sorry if this has been asked before...

I'm trying to figure out the most cost effective way to do this. We are planning on booking in December for FD if it's offered. We want 5 days tickets but don't need PH for all 5 days. Can we book the resort for 7 days, get 2 days tickets for the parks with a PH and then purchase the remaining 3 days tickets separately? Would that be worth it? We don't typically use park hopper. We will definitely use it for the required 2 days but it will be a struggle. lol

Even if you could, I wouldn't. A 2-day park hopper is $409 for an adult. A 2-day PH + 3-day non-hopper is $547 for an adult. Even a 6-day PH or 7-day PH is considerably cheaper than buying the tickets separately.

I just feel like we are wasting them by not using them. But I guess this way we will be able to go to all the places we want to see. :)

Even if you never use the park hopper it would still be cheaper to purchase it, then buying two day tickets and a second set of 3 day tickets. I know you're going in December, but maybe consider adding the waterpark instead?
