2016 Free Dining Watch ~ Part 2

I would like to say 'thank you' to all the wonderful people on this thread who shared their knowledge and experience. We got what we wanted (split stay first 10 nights free dining, last four nights room only discount), but I only knew what to do because of the wonderful people here.

Big shout out to Dirty Steve (love that name) and Black562 for sharing information.

Got started very shortly after the promo dropped. Very Limited availability at Y&B Club. At first standard room was available at YC then that quickly went away.

Had to go with a Pool/Lagoon View at BC because no Garden or Standard rooms available for the FD. It was a hefty increase from my orig choice of Garden View!

What are the chances that ......if I keep trying in the next few days.... I will be able to get a Garden View that's included in the FD deal?

I am wondering this too, was only able to get pool/lagoon for 8/28-9/4.

For those still trying, good luck! Remember what the experts have been saying....lots of rooms will open up over the next few hours-days-weeks as people cancel. You can do this!

I got no sleep and no free dining. I am not going to be a pleasant person today.

Woke up at 4:30 and saw it was added, but the cheapest thing for a family of 5 was the wilderness cabins and that's the same price as our current POR room with ddp added, so yeah.... Not really a deal. I'm gonna keep trying though. My TA didn't have any luck either for any of her clients.

I say this every year and I never do it! Lol I think partly bc idk when my daughter will start school and we usually try to go right before she goes back

I don't even care if I am the only who can come. We are booking a bounce back offer and someone is going to use it and they are going to like it!!

Is anyone familiar with the 'garden view' rooms at POR? I wanted the standard but they were not available this morning. We have only stayed in the standard and usually at Alligator Bayou when we have stayed there. Where are they normally located? I might be able to change to the standard when it does become available. But if the garden view is close like the ones at Alligator Bayou, I may just keep them.

They're all over. Ours was very far away from the main building.

I was originally booked at Pop Century, but the room type (roll in shower with king/double beds) wasn't available for free dining, so booked a new reservation at All Star Sports instead.

I also can't modify or cancel my original reservation, so I'll call later.

I'm glad it started on our check in date! 8/23 - 9/1! Yay for us.

It's cool that we get a round of mini golf plus admission to Disneyquest as well. We'll spend a day at Disney Springs since our annual passes will expire a couple days before we leave. We'll save the tickets for next spring!

To get the FD offer, you likely had to upgrade room types as well as add the ph/wp&m option.

I can still get a standard at CBR for our dates. No standards at POR, though.

So, it's possible to have two resort reservations for the same dates? I was able to book with free dining, but it was our second choice. My sister and our families are travelling together so I'd be nervous to change mine (if something becomes available) in case she can't change hers. Thanks for any info.

I'm assuming it knows I'm Canadian, as my offer dates are:

• August 14 through October 1, 2016
• November 15 through November 21, 2016
• November 26 through November 28, 2016
• December 10 through December 21, 2016

I couldn't get a standard room at CBR for Sept 30 to Oct 5th, but could modify my reservation for CSR (only $10 more) No Pop either, so I did get my 3rd choice (and a darned fine one at that!). I'll keep checking because there's something about CBR that just draws me in...

Debating adding an extra two days. Can't know for sure till airlines release prices in two weeks..... Seems like I could lose fd if I do and drop or will not be able to add later

I didn't get it. All of the deals were similar or more than what I'm paying for my dates. My dates aren't flexible otherwise I could get fd. Congrats to all who got it! I'm going to try in a few days...maybe I'll get a room discount or fd pixie dust.

Was up at 4:15ish and logged into my MDE. As expected no FD for Poly but now contemplating moving to another deluxe it's very tempting! we'll probably just stick with what we have, take a RO if made available and no dining plan since we have an 8 year old and a Disney adult that eat like birds. LOL!

Anyway, regardless, this has been so fun and I'm excited to read all the plans and adjustments you're all making! Congrats!!
