2016 DVC Member cruise

is anyone else planning to do the MC? I am, with a table mate from this year's MC.

We are a family if 5. Are children charged the same price as adults?

I don't object to the price so much as I think the cruise is too short! Having done the 7 day Alaska member cruise this year (it was great!), I think I'm spoiled.

Thank you so much for clarifying that

Bruce and I are thinking about going in 2016. We had a blast on this years MC! I agree though, that the cruise is too short and the cost is very high.

Well, there is no way we are going on this member cruise. For the 4 of us in an ocean view cabin it would cost us $6000! Outrageous! For 4 days with only one port stop!!!!! We are booked on another cruise line for a 14 day cruise and for the 4 of us in an extended balcony our cost comes out to $4500. This is a no brainer. We have been to Canada in the fall (live close to the border) and for us at least the itinerary is not appealing at all. We would save a bit on travel costs to/from the port, but come on. Pricing has gotten out of hand. But, Disney being Disney, I'm sure on the 15th when the phone lines open, there will be insane wait times to book this. Not for this family.

I wish they would do a a 7-day carribbean member cruise. We did the 4-day Bahamas this year and loved it, but I find the 3/4 day cruises too short. The 7-day Alaska cruise this year didn't appeal to us. And as I mentioned in the OP doing a 4-day Canadian cruise and paying it in US dollars when we live in Canada already is just not a good deal.

Greetings! I have never cruised before and have been dreaming of a member cruise for quite some time. When I learned that a trip was planned from NYC, I was ecstatic because I live outside of Boston and figured that I could drive, etc. I have been researching hints, tips, advice for hours (at least 15 hrs. over a few days) and thought that I was prepared to go ahead and attempt to make a reservation when the lines opened. However, abner1776 (and others who have piped in) convinced me that I was loco. The cost is exorbitant (even for the least expensive option), so I shall just have to wait for another more reasonable opportunity. Thanks for all the info!

I am one of those members that has used their DVC points for DCL cruises on several occasions since DCL launched. It was great not to have a cash outlay as a single mom. Yes I know, most on here think that is taboo, but for me it has and sometimes still does work for us. But the Member Cruises??? YIKES. I have never done one though I have wanted to and with their pricing, it is highly likely I never will. On points OR cash. There aren't enough DVC gifts in my stateroom daily to entice me. There would have to be an entire menagerie of Disney legends onboard for me to consider paying the exorbitant prices! :crazy2::crazy2::crazy2:

Bah! Bitter reality! I had been waiting for info on the 2016 MC and had been planning on making it our first cruise (and my first of any kind) - once you start crunching the numbers, it really does start to fall apart, much as I'd enjoy the DVC special entertainment. We could do a 7-day from Florida and have enough left over to be partway to paying for going to the next D23 Expo... and here I thought the Destination D23 Attraction Rewind was expensive! (Which it was, but still awesome!)
