2015 FREE DINING THREAD _ All Questions HERE!!

This might be a silly question but we already have an existing reservation. If I call at some point today should I be okay with getting the offer? I know they have certain amounts of rooms available but surely they wouldn't sell out in one day?

Having a room reservation does not guarantee you free dining unfortunately.

It's 9:23am EST and I still didn't get any emails about the FD. I have the Premier Disney Visa.

This offer is a General offer and not tied to Disney Visa at all. So, you might not ever get an email with the offer...or it will be late. Visa emails go out notoriously late for offers.

I successfully modified our reservation this morning at Coronado Springs and got a confirmation email. But the email is showing free QS dining plan.... just to confirm, moderate resorts get the free regular plan, correct? I'm chalking it up to a system glitch and will call to confirm when thing settle down. Just want to make sure I have it right though. Thanks!

Yep a glitch. Same thing with my ressie but on MDE it shows free DDP.

Yup, it's a confirmed glitch. You'll get the free regular plan!

It took me a couple hours but I got thru! I called right at 7 and got to where you put in your phone number and it messed up. So until 8:45 I kept calling back and I got were busy signals. Then out of the blue I got to the automated menu and I was so excited, I chose the wrong option and ended up at Dining Reservations. So I explained to the CM what happened and she transferred me over and said that I'd probably have a long wait. Well I fully expected that, so I didn't mind. So she transferred me and I got a big helping of pixie dust! I wasn't on hold for 30 seconds and got a CM! She was so sweet and added on FD to me and my mom's reservations. She mentioned that it was weird how quickly I got thru and I explained what had happened. She laughed and was like, well whatever works! I feel bad now, though, because I was so excited I got thru that I forgot to take the survey! She really was helpful.

So my trip is Nov 18-25 at POP with free dining upgraded to Deluxe.
With the money saved with free dining and changing our dates to the included dates I saved around $650.

I hope everyone this morning gets some pixie dust!!!

Unlike previous years, however, it appears that you cannot start your stay during the promotion and extend beyond the promotion....I'm trying for 2 weeks starting November 8 and it will only let me go to November 19, which is 11 days.

It let me book through the 20th and my friend through the 21st

We ended up going with Sports. We wanted to do what you did at Pop but it ended being so much more expensive that it felt like "what's the point of free dining then?" I'm not thrilled about Sports but it was $400 cheaper which is significant to us. We won't be in the room much anyway. Plus, if we want to fulfill our goal of staying at every Disney resort (HA!) I guess we'll have to stay at Sports sometime or another, haha!

I love this! You are mimicking my every thought. If I can get the website to stop being glitchy I'm switching.

No, it was released at the same time (early this morning) but with a start date of August 15 instead of August 28 that Americans have.

I was going to say they gained money by doing that park hopper pass- We do not buy that ever so that stinks we have to if we do get free dinning :/

They lost it on me because I already wanted and had booked PHs. Now I have downgraded from a moderate to a value. So...over $700 lost from me.

They lost money on us too. We have scaled our trip back a night and one day at the park in order to absorb the PH fee that we have never gotten and won't use with a 4 year old.

I think we'll be switching from POP to Sports. How cool is it to be on the All Stars properties?

I just did this for our Sept trip. I haven't stayed at the all-star resorts since 1996. If I remember correctly, as far as transportation goes I think sports is first to be picked up to go to the parks. We're travelling with two boys anyway so this will seem new.

What are the chances that a room opens up for October 2nd after this fizzles down? I have reservations for 5th - 16th at the Beach Club and of course I'm not able to get free dining with the dates specified. Any chance that something might open up? Otherwise, I'm just gonna have to hope and pray for a PIN code...

I think we'll be switching from POP to Sports. How cool is it to be on the All Stars properties?

From everything I've read googling reviews, people put Pop above all the all stars. I was originally booking sports to save a few bucks and then everything I read favored Pop in terms of layout, transportation, etc.

This is VERY frustrating! I've been calling non-stop for 90 minutes and only get the busy dial tone. The online system is clearly crashed as it just throws me into a circular loop until it crashes and says the server is down. Why, oh why, Disney did you not roll out free dining better than this!!!

How are you people modifying your reservation online? Mine only shows a payment option and a details option.

We had a bounce back set but we want to switch resorts.

When checking your reservation online, there will either be a Cancel button, a Modify button, or both. We had a room-only bounceback, but no Modify button. I had to book a new reservation and cancel the bounceback separately.

As expected, our existing reservation (Beach Club) is not included during the dates included in this offer...my TA was emailing me at 6AM saying if I wanted to upgrade to a club level room and change my dates, I could take advantage of the offer...hmmm...Being able to have the FD would have saved us around $850, but $500 more for the Club level Lagoon view, plus $$$ to change my air reservations...hmmmm...that would mean FD would have COST us MORE!!! HA HA HA

NOPE...staying in the room we already have reserved...and hoping that maybe, just maybe, the silver lining will be that if we're there when there isn't a FD offer, MAYBE the crowds will be a little less...who knows...I can dream.

Disney adjusts promos as needed to fill the rooms and parks. I'd expect it to be the same as years prior. If it would drop crowds, then they'd launch a better promo.
