2015 FREE DINING THREAD _ All Questions HERE!!

Ha, I decided to try to change my resort to CSR, but of course the website is acting up and keeps bringing back to my original page when I try to modify. So I decided, hey, why not call? And wait times was over 2 hours at 10:30 at night. Those poor CMs. I'll keep trying, but I'm not going to lose any sleep over it, I'm happy I have a reservation at all!

Question for anyone who have used a TA. My TA has not been able to get through to add free dining to our reservation. I understand that I can't change it online, but is there anything I can do? I'm so frustrated right now. I can see online that POP has free dining rooms available for our dates, so I'm not sure what the problem is with the TA getting it changed. Any suggestions?

I agree with switch15foot~ book it online yourself. Go that route and cancel the reservation you have with your TA if you can.

It's only that cheap when you already have the WP&M option on your tickets.

It's still showing that price right now with just park hopper. My stuff is already booked but no complaining if they lowered it. I took a screenshot but can't figure out how to share it lol

Congrats to all who got what they wanted today!

For myself, I am going to wait until (hopefully) the room discounts come out later in the summer. Saves me about the same amount of money as adding free dining. A little more actually.

I think what we are seeing this year is the end of "free dining" as we know it. If they offer anything next year, I would expect it to be much different. The truth is that Disney just doesn't need to offer discounts to sell rooms any more in an improving economy.

You already have the park hopper selected and in your total. If you want to add the WP&M option as well, it would add the additional $27.69.

Both with free dining? If so and it's the week of Sept 26-Oct 3. Cancel and let me know so I can have the CBR. hehehe My vote for you would be to keep CBR. We like it so much better than CSR. I couldn't get CBR which is home to us and I am really bummed.

I had a reservation beforehand, but we planned to go regardless. I am glad I had a reservation beforehand with my choice of resort, room view and specific dates. My TA contacted me at 6 AM (she was already working with changing reservations for her clients), telling me that we would NOT qualify for the FD unless we upgraded and changed our dates...if I had wanted to change my dates and upgrade, she would have done it then, and it would have happened before the crash(es). We decided to keep our existing reservation, and save the money elsewhere.

I'm VERY GLAD I have a really good TA and didn't have to go through all the frenzy!

So sorry for those who had a bad experience with their TAs - its really sad reading posts from those who were left stranded. But I felt that I had to let everyone know that there are good ones out there who work their little tails off for their clients...they deserve some praise!!!

I am currently booked at POR in a river room. It is $300 more than a POP room with upgraded dining for the same dates. For those who have stayed at both, is it worth the $300 to keep the reservation or is it better to save the $300 and switch to POP?

ETA: we have only ever stayed at AoA in LM rooms.

I feel like I got lucky. Tried calling at 6am...busy busy. Logged in and tried CBR for 12/21-12/28. Nothing but Pirate rooms. Tried Coronado and went with Std View Business Class. Confirmation email received 6:09 am. Considering dropping day to reduce cost of hoppers. How could there be no normal rooms at CBR??

The cast member I talked to said that she NEVER saw anything but pirate rooms for CBR. They probably didn't include them because so many people knew that they had just gotten renovated.

I have a standard booked at CBR for 12/15-12/21. So they were there, maybe not many of them though?

Apparently I picked THE WORST day to try and plan a family trip to DW

For the last couple weeks, I've been playing around, trying different arrival dates, different resorts....and on Saturday, sent a message to the travel agent, letting her know we are interested.

If only I had booked then.....I tried this morning, and BLAM, my computer basically blew up! .

*note to self, check DIS boards for rumors of free dining, prior to trip planning

Thanks everyone, that's good to know. I was an idiot in modifying my reservation, I thought there was a glitch, but I needed to scroll down the page and check out to move forward. It's been a long day. I am now changed to CSR, guess I need to start learning more about this resort! I figured if I was willing to pay an extra $100 for a POR/POFQ room if I was lucky enough to get a unique offer code, I should take the only mod left and run with it. Very happy with this.

Standards are all over the place with the exception of preferred and pirate at CBR. They are all great and they all have their own bus stops anyway. You can always request Jamaica or Aruba if you want to be close to the bridge that leads to the pools and food. Even if you don't get that it really is not as bad as some people make it out to be. We love it! Go to the CBR thread on here and check it out.
