2014 Epcot Food and Wine Festival 9/19-11/10

I'm noticing from the pricing information trickling in, that the popular food items all increased in cost 25 to 50 cents and all alcoholic drinks, with the exception of the reduced size beer pricing, which obviously decreased, increased in cost. Taking into account the cost per ounce, the beers have generally only minimally increased in cost (average 4 to 6 cents), serving sizes are just smaller. :surfweb:

There is an exception though, some of the champagnes seem to be doubling in cost. Unfortunate.

Can anyone comment on what foods are included as a snack on the DDP. I know most of the food options at the kiosks were historically included, just want to make sure that is still the case.

I have seen pics of 7 menu boards, and so far all food and nonalcoholic drinks have the DDP snack credit sign next to the price.

2nd sighting. In handicapped Illuminations viewing area across from the train in Germany. I saw standup tables only. There is an umbrella Ion one of the tables. 4 to 5 tables per area. Third one is on the other side of Germany Iacross from Brewers collection. This one is in the shade still standup tables. If I see anymore I'll post tonight I'm to go eat and drink. Beer is limited to The small sizes. This year they have I wine glass you can buy instead of a beer stein

Thanks for the heads up! I am not surprised they are stand up but I hope there is a bit more cover from the sun than what your first observation shows. I am not concerned with the sun but my husband is whiter than the walls in my house may not be happy ;)

I finally saw the wine glass and I like it. It is plastic, but it's one of the stemless glasses Would be great for a pool or someplace.

These are the "Premium" areas I found. If you have a festival map hopefully this will help you see where they are.

1. Inside the Craft Beer "hall" (Odyssey0
2. Directly beside the Terra stand
3. Behind the gift "kiosk" in front of Canada (the one that sells the tshirts in front of the pavilion, not far from the beer cart)
4. Across from the South Korea booth
5. Behind Singapore (this one appeared to have the most shade)
6. In between Poland and Italy
7. Across from Belgium next to dock
8. Across from Morocco.
9. Across from the train exhibit in Germany

(There must be another one someplace :) Maybe in the festival center? )

All had a small smattering of high top tables and some cast members with a cash register. I think they tested tonight using Disney management.

I had played around with adding the Premium package for my November visit, but... I can't say i was really impressed with these areas. Especially if you are going early it's going to be HOT unless you are at the Craft Beer location!

Hey OCC - thanks for the detailed report!

What's your sense regarding if these areas are taking away from us non premium people who are just attending the festival but won't have access to the special areas?

Since there's not a lot of shade, they wouldn't be that premium to me! But I noticed one was "behind Singapore." Last year I didn't think there was any space behind Singapore, but there was a nice shady spot to the left of that booth that I really enjoyed.

But then again, maybe Singapore is in an entirely new place this year.

Seeing these menus and seeing that they are all DDP SNACKS has made my night. This is the first year I am going to eat around the world and I am doing it with my 10 yr old who is an adventurous eater. We have already planned to save our snack credits for F&W, in fact he wanted to review the menu to see where he would want to eat. 5 more days till we arrive!!!:banana::wizard:

Singapore is where cheese was last year (I think)

The premium spaces are not near as intrusive as I feared. Unless they change I don't see them really impacting most of us. I hunted for them and some of them are hard to find.

I do think there may be a few less "free" tables but it isn't a big drop.

Thanks for posting the prices. Snack credits for the most expensive, oop for the rest. Now I can plan. Can't wait to get there!

Thanks again.

After I posted, I looked at this year's map and realized Singapore isn't where it was last year. I think last year it was near Norway.

I'm sure I'll deal. Last year I found I could balance a beverage on a fence railing while I enjoyed my food. And then there are always the tops of trash cans...
