2014 Epcot Food and Wine Festival 9/19-11/10

I finally saw the wine glass and I like it. It is plastic, but it's one of the stemless glasses Would be great for a pool or someplace.

These are the "Premium" areas I found. If you have a festival map hopefully this will help you see where they are.

1. Inside the Craft Beer "hall" (Odyssey0
2. Directly beside the Terra stand
3. Behind the gift "kiosk" in front of Canada (the one that sells the tshirts in front of the pavilion, not far from the beer cart)
4. Across from the South Korea booth
5. Behind Singapore (this one appeared to have the most shade)
6. In between Poland and Italy
7. Across from Belgium next to dock
8. Across from Morocco.
9. Across from the train exhibit in Germany

(!

what is a premium area vs a "regular" area
what exactly is the premium area

Sorry for all the typos. Dictating to my phone has issues. Apparently Suri does not speak southern.
She has a problem with MY version of Southern (SW Va/Upper East TN)!

I have no problems with standing tables. Some will. I know of at least one person who needed regular tables plus chairs for handicapped access (I think they don't care to stand all the time while the disabled person has to stay seated, and a person in a wheelchair can't pull up to a standing table).

I'm on an ECV, but my husband is not, and I desperately wanted him to be able to sit. Most of our trip we can't talk because he's up there, and I'm down low and we can't hear each other. I was hoping we would at least be at the same level. Oh, well. Maybe I'll stand and he can sit for a while. I get so stiff from my RA anyway. We'll make it work. I'm only 5', so we're the same height when he sits, LOL!

I'm noticing from the pricing information trickling in, that the popular food items all increased in cost 25 to 50 cents and all alcoholic drinks, with the exception of the reduced size beer pricing, which obviously decreased, increased in cost. Taking into account the cost per ounce, the beers have generally only minimally increased in cost (average 4 to 6 cents), serving sizes are just smaller. :surfweb:

There is an exception though, some of the champagnes seem to be doubling in cost. Unfortunate.
Now that really is sad!!:sad1:

This year Disney's offering a "premium package" for the F&W fest that resort guests can purchase. One of the "perks" is special roped off areas. Since it's the first year, there has been a lot of wondering and speculation as to where they would be and what they would be like.

can regular Chase Visa cardholders (not Disney Visa) get into the Chase lounge?

In the past any Chase cardholder could get in. Not just Disney Visa cardholders. There has been no indication I've heard of that this has changed this year.

(There must be another one someplace :) Maybe in the festival center? )

All had a small smattering of high top tables and some cast members with a cash register. I think they tested tonight using Disney management.

I had played around with adding the Premium package for my November visit, but... I can't say i was really impressed with these areas. Especially if you are going early it's going to be HOT unless you are at the Craft Beer location!

Thanks for the detailed update! These areas are not very evenly spaced. Wonder if we find a good spot by Singapore we can send a runner to Mexico or UK? :scratchin

If anyone can report on how the whole 'order your food to be delivered' works out, I would appreciate it. I would be surprised if there were enough CMs staffed for that to be efficient. If they had personal jet packs to zoom above the crowd or cut across the lake, well then, that may work... ::yes::

Today's update on the premium areas. They are open to the public today. I expect that is the norm for weekends.

Now that I have been in one, there are was one table set up lower than the others. I assume that if you were in a scooter or wheelchair you could use that table

And I can't find the stand that can actually sell the wine glasses

gawd=--- disney people will pay for anything-- :rotfl:
where can i find information regarding a premium package. Family is going back in 2016. (we are going next month, booked at the last minute and see many of the packages are gone since July

Beer prices for the 6oz are still the same, and I looked at China for both 2013 and 2014 The wine prices are the same there. What alcohol prices are you talking about that went up? I am trying to get everything planned out and if I missed something I don't want any hidden surprises when I get there :goodvibes

Thanks so much for this. When we booked then cancelled our pkg I kept wondering if we'd regret cancelling. Based on what you've indicated, esp the part with stand up tables only you've confirmed for me that we die the right thing in cancelling. For us I see no benefit to this type of setup at all. I really don't want someone to be getting my food and reaching me when its cold.
I'd pay an arm and a leg for a sit down area....not even a finger for what this seems to be ;)

From what I have seen so far, these are the prices I've seen rise:

Brazil Carnaval Moscato Sparkling White 2013=$3, 2014=$6 :scared1:
Brazil Frozen Caipirinha 2013=$8.25, 2014=$8.75
Hawaii Aulani Sunrise 2013=$7.25, 2014-$6.75 (smaller glass?)
South Korea Soju Fruit Slushy 2013=$7.50, 2014=$8.00

No changes in Belgium, Brewer's Collection, Mexico, or New Zealand (on drink prices). I am surprised Desserts and Champagne replaced $11.75 and $13.25 priced items with $22.75 and $32 priced items.

Those are all the countries I've seen prices for so far. I guess my champagne comment was more toward the two new items at D&C. I mean, it's not like I just won't pay that much, because, as we all know, we must try one of everything! :rotfl:

I'll probably skip Desserts and Champagne this year. It looks like Block and Hans offers a nice Blanc de Noir for $6.25.

I am passing on the high priced champagne. I am not paying that for a plastic cup LOL

My quick exploration is done. Back to the real world for a while.

By the way I have no idea how order and delivery works for the premium areas. I did seat big rolling "heat boxes" like caterers use in them. I also think they had laminated menus with what you could order.

BBM, ITA. Beyond that, I think the more expensive ones might be sitting around for good while....opened. I know they use a stopper, but it's not the same as a newly opened bottle.

Has anyone seen a pic of the souvenir wine glass that is an extra $4? Is it glass or plastic?

Does anyone know the price of the super cute plush chef duffy? DD would love that.

It is plastic. Has navy writing. Food and Wine Festival. And hard to find. Finally found them at Germany and The wine stand (that is normally a beer stand) in America.
