Dee,
Can you add me (and my mom) to the Be Our Guest List. Beach Club it is! August 16-19.

Thank you,
Rebecca

Just back from a relaxing weekend at the YC. The CL CMs are still great (for the most part), but the Club Level hallways and walls are getting to be in pretty rough shape. There were a lot of stains on the hallway carpets and marks on the walls from the housekeeping carts. The room was fine, just the public areas that need attention.

It looked to me like they are really starting to cut back all over the resort to save a few bucks. The windmill at SAB was not turned on and the grounds could use some clean up. The evening offerings in the CL lounge weren't all that great, or plentiful. They also had a CM pouring wine in the evening, using pretty small glasses and only about half full. The evening cordials were still serve your own, but the desserts were pretty limited. The morning and afternoon/late night snack offerings were the same as we've seen in the past.

All in all, it was a nice stay, but we're starting to re-think staying CL there.

Going off topic, but since you guys are awesome with advice, I thought I would ask here. We're bringing my daughter's girlfriend with us in August (they are both 11 yrs old). Is there anything I should know/bring for "just in case something happens"?

Be sure you are traveling with documents that authorize you to act on the behalf of her parents in case of an emergency. You will need to check to see if these documents will need to be notarized. You can find templates for these documents on LawDepot (dotcom)
A list of known allergies if any would be helpful. Any medications that are taken daily or in case of emergency (Epi pen or asthma inhaler) and clear instructions on how & when to use them.

A list of alternate contact info in case you can not reach the parents for any reason..

natebenma can you add me and DH to the Be Our Guest list!?!? We are switching from BW to BC Garden View September 22-26. And hoping for FD!!

I switched from Coronado to YC for me, DH, DD20 and DS11 June 6 to June 10th.

Love BC and BCV but there was no more room with the AP spring discount. Looking forward to trying our 10th Disney resort!!

Yahoo! Just got a YC CL LV room for May 15 - 19, our first Star Wars Weekend. Thanks to our AP we were able to make the upgrade. Please add us to the guest list. :cool1:

Does the only bar in the Beach Club really close at 10:00? That seems so early. :confused3

I guess I'll get to know the Yacht Club bartenders! ;)

If we get a glass of wine from Martha's Vineyard, can we sit on the beach with it? Or do we need to stay inside?

So excited. My sister and I are definitely going to BC on May 9th - 17th. Can't wait!

No clue about when it closes but I know DH and I took our wine down in paper cups to the beach to watch the movie with our kids1:thumbsup2

Congrats! Star Wars Weekend is one of the things I've not done yet but would like to - at some point. Have fun!

Sorry to hear you were not that happy with CL service in the lounge. Were you able to go up as often as you'd like for refills that CM was pouring? Or, we're refills limited? Also, we're food trays replaced as things were eaten? Or, was it a case of "when it's gone, it's gone."
We were treated to an upgrade to CL at BC a handful of years ago and it was heavenly. Nice staff, food definitely replenished and unlimited drinks including wine. I remember putting some in a to-go cup to enjoy down at the pool. Maybe it was a super busy time when you were there, or, maybe they had a problem with people grossly abusing food/drink privileges? Those items are part of CL amenities, so it's hard to picture them just trying to police guests dishes and glasses. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed that something else was going on, and they've now got it under control and back to "magic as usual" for YC/BC guests to enjoy.
How have others recent stays been? Anyone??

My dates have changed and we are arriving a day earlier. 8/26-9/7

Thx!!

Got it! I'll make the adjustment.

Thanks for sharing your comments and observations about your stay. Sorry that CL was disappointing compared to what you have experienced in the past.

We found the same state of affairs in the public spaces like bleach stains fading the carpets in the hallway.

:(
