I would love to visit DL one of these years. I grew up in Southern California and worked at DL when I was in college. But with our family of six, the cost of airfare just makes it sooo much more expensive. It will happen at some point. California Adventure didn't even exist when I moved from California.

Hi all. Thinking if staying here in October. Does anyone have a link or idea on what the past discounts have been for Fl residents and or Annual Passholders?

Quick question (I can't believe I didn't think of this earlier). Did anyone check to see if the new Disney Visa promotion applied to the Beach Club villas?

Up to a 5 night stay, 20% off.

6 or more night stay, 25% off.

It is beyond sad... I am at work today and found out we have one student affected. His family lived next door to the buildings destroyed, and is now staying with another family. The death toll is up to 7 as of this morning and they are still searching... So sad especially for this area.

Thanks for the thoughts :)

so horrible what happened. glad you are safe and sound:goodvibes
Oh boy oh boy... I might have booked 2 days at CR cl for the upcoming retirement trip.... Got tired of stressing over weather or not I would get 2 days BLT and just decided I wanted to try CR cl so BOOKED IT :good vibes

So now it's arrival night at Waldorf then CR cl for 2 nights then headed to YC cl for 6 nights followed by AKL cl for 5 nights... .come on November!!

must fix the tickers!

~N

just noticed your multiple tic:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:kers

Made another payment today, never has paying a bill felt so good!! :rotfl::rotfl:

I have a question about the Solarium? Is that for all Beach Club guests or is that a part of Beach Club Villas? I did not even see it when I stayed at Yacht Club or when I stayed at Beach Club back in 2000!

If we bought a sandwich in the Marketplace, would we be able to eat in the Solarium, or is food off limits?

thanks! ::yes::

That sounds like a great idea. We stayed at CR CL 5 years ago and loved it. I still prefer BC/YC but our CR trip was wonderful too. Did you book a MK or lake view? If MK view you should request an odd numbered room. You can see the MK and Cinderella's Castle while you lay in bed in an odd numbered room. That's my :offtopic: tip for the night.

The Solarium is located in the Beach Club and guests of both the Beach Club and the villas can use it. I think you can eat in the Solarium. There are also tables set up right outside the Marketplace, which is nice, too.

Hello BC/YC Friends! As I just mentioned to Dee a few minutes ago, I actually have a BC reservation for May and really hope I'll be able to keep it! I always see others posting about work-related conferences at WDW and think, wow - that would be great. And now I have a conference at WDW to attend!!! Although the conference is at CSR, I booked two nights at BC. But I'm having trouble arranging childcare, so I may not be able to keep the reservation. Please send pixie dust!!!

Man, after even more snow here in Chicago, I can't wait for October!!! :rotfl::rotfl:

Definitely hoping it all works out for you ... pixiedust:

Well my last sleep at BCV is here. Another fast astir day today. Even though it was the coldest by far the kids still spent an hour in SAB. We had a busy day in 3 parks and dinner at the Flying Fish. I wasn't overly impressed but that is because I was hoping for traditional fish and it was very sophisticated! I ordered something without really having a clue what it was! It was really nice to walk along the boardwalk and see everything. Back at BC front desk was great to print boarding passes and explain the luggage pre-board. I hope this works!

Over all my only complaint about this trip was it was too short! I really loved the resort and SAB was a huge hit for my kids. I cannot imagine anywhere else being as good. The staff were amazing.

I will try to do a full trip report soon.

This is NOT off-topic...

Last night my son's middle school had a Jazz & Arts night. This is literally the only event at the middle school that I don't have my hands in, so I was looking forward to enjoying a quiet night at home. But Ben decided he wanted to go, so I ended up being probably the only parent there who didn't have a kid performing.

Anyway, I was rewarded for my attendance when the Jazz band played "Cupid Shuffle", which brought me happy memories of warm trips to Stormalong Bay.

This is :offtopic:

I am off to work in a little bit- I have a preschool group on Fridays that comes to the farm to feed the animals, make crafts and listen to a story. We spent an hour outside last week feeding and doing a tracking lesson but with temps in the teens today, I think we will be doing a speed-feed!

:cold:

Since we now live only an hour away from WDW (and we are AP holders), it was inevitable that we would stay at our favorite resort (YC) at some point.

We've already done a few day trips since we moved down here in December, but now we're headed over for a couple of nights next month - 4/11 and 4/12. DS19 goes to college in Melbourne, FL (also about an hour from WDW) so he's meeting us there for the weekend. Staying YC CL and hoping to see some of the Club Level CMs we've met during past stays. Maybe this time I'll finally get a chance to get over to the BC and meet Teena. Every other time we've stayed at YC we were never there on any of the days she was working, or we had to leave early to catch a flight home.

Can't wait to get back to the YC!!!!

:welcome: back!!!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

:cool1:

Had to see the ticker! Just called and dropped the DDP since it looks like we're doing all TS this trip for our anniversary. Actually will be there ON our anniversary this time, whoo hoooo! Wanted to do CL (have done it at YC before) but it wasn't showing availability. When I called to drop DDP the lady was all like, oh why would you ever want to drop it? I said well, we're doing all TS so we would be losing money by not using the CS and having to still pay OOP for some meals. She was like, well, why not do the DxDP? Uh....no. After doing the math I would have lost money with DDP as the places we have booked have dessert included and we don't do desserts at CS as a rule. Any way, it cost me $50 but I'm still being refunded almost $300. I told her I would like to upgrade the tickets to two day hoppers for two of the three of us, hubby will be semi comatose as he'll be coming off of 12 hours nights in the ER. She told me that there was no way I could do that unless I upgraded his ticket as well. Couldn't happen. I said, well, I'll just do it at the park or resort. Silence, then she says.... oh yeah, you can do that. Funny when we know more than the people that supposedly have all the answers. And she couldn't believe that we were having trouble with the MDE site losing our FP+ selections. Thinks it must be a problem with my computer. I said no, I just make sure I screen shot everything now. Wow, I didn't know you could do that!

I think you made a great call about the dining plan!

I feel really sorry for the people who call for information and get someone who is clueless on the phone. At least most of us know when we are being given bad info, but there are a lot of callers who receive very poor advice and don't know it!

:sad2:

You crack me up. I'm not sure if FIVE tickers will fit into a signature, but let us know if you "improve" your trip any more.

:goodvibes

Firstly an apology .... As I've nothing really to add! BUT I just wanted to say how fantastic this thread is and how much we have learned from it! We are a family of 5 from England who are flying from Dublin (please can someone please explain why this is half the cost of flying out of Manchester?), for 10 nights at the Beach Club (5th April +) for a holiday of a lifetime. This will be a one off given the cost but thanks to you all I feel prepared ..... I've my days plans out to the max (given that we've 3 children), one birthday to contend with and an age from of 4-10. The kids (and me) are so excited ..... Thanks all x

What a nice post! No apologies needed at all- that is what we are here for, to provide information and excitement about upcoming trips.

Please do not hesitate to ask if you have any questions.

:)

:welcome: to the thread!

I am not sure if there is a link to this info, but MickeyT pointed me to Mousesavers for DL discount info- maybe they have something. There is also a Discount subforum here on the Resort boards, so you could poke around there, or if you posted the question, someone there may be able to point you in the right direction.

Yes, the Solarium is for Beach Club and Yacht Club guests and you are permitted to bring in food and drinks. That is where the upcoming BC/YC FAQ DIS meet will be held on August 18, and I'm sure some of the people going will be accompanied by adult beverages.

There are also some nice little seating areas at the villas, but they are really intended for BCV guests only.

:)

Shall I pencil you in on the BOG for May? Or would you prefer that I wait?

Awesome tip! It didn't give me an option it just said Standard Atrium cl. From what I've read you can request a room so that's what I will do. I've actually had that Cinderella view before when DD was 7... I thought she really needed to stay in that hotel and wake up to Cinderella's Castle so I booked one night there, AND who do you think was more excited to have the view... :)

Love the tickers and more than a wee bit jealous (in the nicest possible way :lmao:)

You will love clearing immigration in Dublin :thumbsup2 Makes arriving in Orlando a doddle as you walk past everyone else in the queue ;) If you're flying Aer Lingus bring a sweater as their plane was the coldest I've ever travelled on last year on the way to MCO -it was fine on the way home though so may have been a one -off :)

I would think Mousesavers would have all of that historical info. I know they have it for other dscts. We stayed at BC this past Oct and it was AWESOME!!!:cool1::cool1:

I so enjoyed hearing about your trip! :cool1: Safe travels home!:thumbsup2

:offtopic: Okay, off topic! I just went to my oldest son's High School Curriculum Fair last night.:sad2: How is he starting high school next year? Where does the time go? Shouldn't he be beating his brother up over a Thomas train or throwing a sippy cup at someone.:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Alright...back to regularly scheduled programming....:rotfl:

:welcome: I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1. Yes, you should keep checking back. People make changes all the time. You may want to particularly pay attention to when you are 45 days out from your trip since this is when the balances for trips must be paid. If someone cancels their BC stay, you may be in luck.

I am so excited to say we were able to move to the BC!!! This is our first stay at the BC and I couldn't be more excited! I think our kids will love SAB, the resort looks beautiful, and it is in an ideal location! This is a wonderful thread with a wealth of information - thank you! I hope there will not be any issue with having our price adjusted when the public specials come out. We have a GV room booked. Has this been an issue with anyone else not being able to have your cost adjusted?

It's official!!! Just booked Beach Club in a standard room for 8 nights in August:cool1:. It was a great rate, and actually worked out cheaper than a preferred room at POR with the discount coming out on Monday. Even better, it's all done and I don't have to fret about getting up early to call or book when the discount is released. This will be our first time at the Beach Club. My kids are so excited for Stormalong Bay, and Epcot is hands down our favourite park, so being able to walk there will be wonderful!
Dh can't join us for this trip, and we've decided not to do the ddp. DD17 is a vegetarian and often prefers to make a meal of appetizers, ds10 is adult price now but won't always eat an adult portion, and none of us want dessert with every meal. So we are looking forward to snacking and eating in Epcot several times. I've also booked us for Cape May and Beaches and Cream. I am gettting so excited!!!
