Amen. I can't answer your question, because our first trip to YC will be this August, and I imagine it will be plenty warm then. But I am so beyond tired of being cold. I have friends that live near the Arctic Circle, so I really shouldn't complain. But I'm so over winter and ready to be warm.

Me too!!!! I am in NC and feel like I live in Syracuse. Lol

Also, since I know you fellow Disney lovers will understand (and no one here cares...:rotfl2:) my trip is paid off!!!!!:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

:banana::banana::banana:

I'm still working on my hubby for our June trip. With building a new home last year, we have been strapped for cash. I'm working on it!!! :dance3:

I hope you can make a June trip work!

:goodvibes

Hi natebenma :wave2:

Yes, we have a trip planned in September and are in the process of deciding between CL @ WL, BC, YC or BWI... such a tough decision :confused3  :faint:

Good luck with your decision!

On Page 2 of this thread, in the Trip Report/Review section, I think I have some links to some unbiased comparisons between the BC/YC and WL and BWI from people who have stayed at those resorts.

I have a question about the DTD bus, which we haven't been on in about 25 years:

Does it always take the same route to and from the BC to DTD? Is the BC the last stop before it goes to DTD? How long would it take to get there from the BC?

BUMP!

We have done this 3 times, all between the hours of 4 and 6 pm. I can't remember if the bus stopped at BW on one of those trips or not, but we definitely didn't in July. IIRC, the bus ride was about 25 minutes.

Hi everyone! I have 1 night booked at YC in October. I have a lagoon/pool view. I was wondering if those rooms are all pretty good views or should I make a certain request? Since it is only one night I want a nice view lol

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list

:cool1:

As others have suggested, you should request "Lagoon View, please" if that is what you want.

********************************************************
Thanks! What is the best way to request this, I've only ever used the options on online check in.

I can't seem to find the link about how to request a full balcony room at BC. Could someone help me out? Also, did anyone know how late beaches and cream stays open?

Call the main reservations line and tell the CM you would like to add a room request to your reservation. Your request is "full balcony". :thumbsup2

As dansdad indicates, contact Disney's Central Reservation Office.

(407) W-DISNEY, I believe

If you booked your room through a travel agency, they should add the request to your reservation for you.

:)

Also, can the board tell me if this makes sense... we will be driving up from Miami as my DH has a tradeshow there first. His last day wraps up at 3 so we're planning on driving up and staying our first night at an offsite hotel, perhaps by DT disney and having dinner our first night there (and potentially Disney Quest if we have time). With that said... should we drop off the rental car near DT disney the following morning, and cab it to the Yacht Club to drop off our bags? Then we would probably head right to the parks and am guessing they will still move our bags to our room? This sounds kind of complicated but if anyone has any other suggestions I'm open to it! Thanks!!!

We were first going to stay by the airport and take ME but I think it would be fun to have our first night at DT Disney and take advantage of that. I'm going to try to keep the Disney portion of our trip a secret from our son ;)

Bumping this question.

I'll be interested in hearing peoples' suggestions.

One possibility, although I don't know whether this makes sense or not, is if you rent the car through the place that has an office at the Swalphin, you could drop the car off there after checking in at the YC (or perhaps at the same time, if one of you goes with the luggage to check in, and the other returns the car, then meet back in the YC lobby)

It would save the cab fare but not sure if it would save time or not.

:)

On the Be Our Guest list, please change our trip days to 20-27th, DH told me to add an extra day! :cool1:

I'll make the adjustment.

:woohoo: for an extra day!

Does anyone know what type/brand pillows they use at the Beach Club Villas? I had to stack a bunch up because they are so thin, but my neck didn't hurt the whole trip so I am thinking of buying similar. Thanks!

BUMP!

:)

I am actually in the process of trying to get in a trip to BC in May right now and I am so looking forward to SAB! DD and I love the slide! :)

If you haven't had a recent :welcome: here you go!

Fingers crossed for you! Hope you are able to book the trip.

:thumbsup2

Any feedback on the spa services at BC? Was thinking of getting my wife certificate there for surprise bday gift. Wasn't sure if services were worth a little time away from the parks and/or how to best contact them. Thanks

I think I have a couple of review on Page 1 of the thread, in the "Amenities Post" The contact info should be there too, and I think I have a price listed posted. If not, let me know and I will add it.

I think the general summary of comments I have seen is that the services offered are excellent, and pricey.

;)

We stayed in at Club Level in Garden View room. Our view was the wedding gazebo:

Do you know the room number for this?

Do you know if I have these pictures in the YC Room View Thread in the Resort Photo subforum?

:goodvibes

What time can the large pool be accessed in the morning?

Not looking to take the family but just one adult swimming laps? The quite pools are too small...thanks

10 am.

Not sure how crowded SAB will be when it opens at 10 am, but you may find it difficult to find the room to swim laps. Not sure where in SAB you could do this.

:)

Another great day...missed Teena again though. I didn't read the post til now so wasn't sure you would be here today. Again I must say this place is amazing! Mouse keeping has made us a towel animal both days. The kids love it. We spent the day at Hollywood Studios and we were there from rope drop til 6. The kids then spent almost 2 hours in Stormalong. They love it. Almost empty this evening and not sure why. It was warm enough for sure. The pool is heavily life guarded and even though my two are good swimmers it is a real peace of mind. I enjoyed my book while they went nuts. We had ice cream at Beaches and Cream .... Heavenly. We are still so impressed with this place. My mind is already thinking about when we come back!

Thank you so much for checking in with us to let us know about your trip. So glad to hear you are having a great time!

:goodvibes

We ate at Beaches and Cream on this past trip and they were sooo super accomidating with our oldest DD's dairy allergy ( I know I know, cruel to take her there...lol) ...of course with the semi newer way the eateries are handling any and all allergies I thought it was amazing and incredibly cool. We had a blast and didnt need to worry about her missing out on the fun!

:welcome: to you and thanks for the feedback about how helpful Beaches & Cream were dealing with allergy concerns!

Also wanted to say I love your tag about Football Season. I hate the times of the year when there are no games! My oldest son continues to watch the NFL channel every day of the year.

::yes::

Thanks so much! We did check into the Swan car rental and its pricey!! We originally planned to drop the car there and walk over to the YC but I'm thinking if we find a company near DT Disney there are more options. I think it will all work out ok, I'm just trying to plan out the details. Thanks again!!

Asked for verification today at work. I was told lockers and showers can only be used if you have a spa service booked. Guests are being told to use the showers at the pool and take towels from the pool with them into the bathrooms by the pool and change if they need to change.

I was wondering if anyone knew the answers to these questions....

Hmm.... Are these showers outdoors, like we can't be all 'nekked' when we are taking said shower?? (Because, like most people, I like to be 'nekked' when I am taking my shower...) Could you please tell us where these pool showers are? is there a private area outside of the shower stall where you can get changed or are you trying to get dressed in the wet stall?

This sounds like a downgrade... There would be no lockers to store your stuff when you are taking a shower in the pool area... correct? We know that the rusted out, dysfunctional/broken lockers near Hurricane Hannah's are not a workable option, especially since supply is limited, demand is high and the fact that many of the lockers won't open/lock further complicates matters.

What about people working out at the fitness center? Are they allowed the use of those facilities or are they expected to walk out of the fitness center and find a bathroom elsewhere?

To me this sounds like a letter needs to be written to:

Mim Flynn, General Manager
Disney's Yacht and Beach Club Resorts
1800 EPCOT Resort Boulevard
Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830

It might be helpful if people let her know that this is not a workable option for them. If I wanted to vacation like a refugee and shower in a concrete bunker while I kept the curtain open so I could keep my eye on my unattended belongings I would book at Port Orleans Riverside and shower at the pool there. That is the sort of experience we are being asked to have now that the HOTEL LOCKER ROOMS are NOT AVAILABLE to hotel GUESTS.

Where is the logic in that decision?

~NM
PS Teena knows I love her so don't think this is directed at her in any way. If this is something that you think is a problem for your stay please take the time to write a brief letter and drop it in the mail to the hotel manager listed above.

I had these same questions as well about lockers and about people working out in the gym.

I am hoping that someone who is there now, or will be soon, would be willing to get some info from a guest's perspective from the folks at the spa/health club.

I need to make a "to do list" for the things I want to check out when we are there next week:

1. the locker and shower situation
2. teabags in the resort rooms and at the Marketplace
3. the general condition of the BC - how the resort looks - run down or not
4. we are daring to try the DTD bus :scared1: - I'll report my experience

Is there anything else to add? :)

Thanks so much for the photos! This is where we stayed last time, although we were on the other side of that horseshoe :) Thanks for the photos, that really helped! I should have taken better ones last stay lol
We stayed on the other side also, but closer to Crescent lake and on the first floor. At that time, it was considered a water view room, and it was awesome. I have pictures of that also if anyone is interested.

Awesome! My kids LOVED Stormalong Bay too. Once my daughter wandered off (7 at the time). We were so worried but comforted by the fact the lifeguards were so numerous and attentive. We found out she decided that she wanted to go on the Flying Jib by herself. :hyper: She is so independent. She found US! :lmao:

Me too!!!! I am in NC and feel like I live in Syracuse. Lol
I live in near Charlotte but over the border in SC. I am originally from Syracuse!!!

I save everything! It was Room 5154 - Club Level, Garden View, with daybed. I'm not sure if the pictures are in that forum. Is that the forum I started *under a different name* years ago? If not, link me up! I can also send you those photos and a few of the room, itself, if you'd like.

Or how I can find out?

Shame about the lockers, when DH and I had a late flight we were allowed to use the WL gym showers and lockers it was perfect.

Dee can you pop CL back onto our be our guest listing? Lol thank you

Or how I can find out?
Thanks :)

I read recently, in another forum, that there is something called the "Disney Resorts Collection" where you can purchase items such as lamps, etc...

Not sure if it is a standalone website or a link through the Disney Store or Disney Parks sites.

Good luck!

Hi everyone! Boy has our original booked plans for our stay changed!

Originally we were staying 7 nights YC CL, DDP, Aug 17-24.
Then changed to 7 nights YC, DxDDP, Aug. 17-24.
Now it is 6 nights YC, DxDDP, June 1-7 and 1 night YC, room only June 7.

I know there is no guarantee to stay in the same room, which drives DH nuts, LOL. I was thinking about surprising him with an upgrade our last night to CL. We fly out late on June 8, and have no dining plan on the last day so breakfast would be covered the last two mornings right? Since we would have access to the CL lounge on the morning we "check-in"? Plus it would make the hanging out at the resort more comfy on that last evening, plus some free snacks and booze. LOL

What do you think? Is it worth the extra $100 for only one night? I would surprise DH with it by telling him that they couldn't keep us in the same room and we have to move, before telling him it is to CL. Is that mean?

Showers are the showers outside that you use to rinse off after getting in or out of the pool WITH YOUR BATHING SUIT STILL ON.

I was told no showers and lockers for "working out" in the gym. That they are only for people having spa services like massages (so I assume it meant paying services).

As far as no use of lockers, you can have bell services keep your bags for you.

Hi, I'm probably getting ahead of myself but does anyone know when the recreational activities for April will be released? I'm really after the time of evening campfire/movie. Thanks in advance ...... 25 days to go!:cool1:

The recreation department decides on the hours. It usually changes whenever occupancy changes a lot. However, although SAB is only open certain hours, the quiet pools are open for you whenever you want to jump in.
