Had a few minutes free to quick let you all know I'm having so much fun with Lily and Jeanne plus working my tail off at the school. Lily loved the Queen Elsa dress that she got when I arrived at the airport Tuesday night. No occasion to wear it yet though. Jeanne posted a video of her getting it on facebook.

I had a great flight and the COPD (which can be troublesome flying) didn't cause me any difficulty at all. It actually seems better out here in the dry weather.

This Mother's Day weekend will be super. We are meeting lots of Jeanne's friends for a country western concert in the park on Saturday, then dinner at a hibachi restaurant with friends. Then Sunday is swim time with another hibachi dinner for Mother's Day. Jeanne's birthday is Wednesday and then home on Thursday.

I don't think I'll have time to check our thread ... it moves too fast so when I get home, please repost anything that you need me to answer. Dee, MickeyT and a few others know as much as I do about the Y&B so I'm sure they are handling everything just fine.

Hope everybody at the Y&B is having a wonderful time and I look forward to seeing you all when I return to work on the 18th.

Glad you're having a wonderful time. The video was so cute!! The weekend plans sound fun!! Happy Mom Day to you, and enjoy concert with Jeanne's friends!!

Okay, quick question. I had been thinking of having dinner at The Yachtsman, but an acquaintance said I should look at Monsieur Paul (haven't been there since it was Bistro de Paris). I looked at the menu and it seemed a bit more varied, which is good for my DH, who isn't as much of a steak person as I am. We already have a different ADR at Le Cellier later in the trip, (must have the cheddar cheese soup!) so that's not something I'd be comparing.

So... should I stick with Monsieur Paul or go back to Yachstman? Any opinions from people who have done both?

I would love to know the answer also! Have always been curious about Monsieur Paul.

Good morning, everyone!

:welcome: to all the new friends who have joined us in the past couple of days. No time to update today or go through all the responses, but I'll check in later tonight or tomorrow morning and get you all on the Be Our Guest list.

At the middle school all day for Staff Appreciation Luncheon. Best day of the year to volunteer!

Have a great day.

:goodvibes

Thank you Dee for posting a link to your Captain's Grille review. I was really debating on this one. If I can squeeze it in, that would be :cool1:

I second that! Your post made me so excited! You summed it up so well and DD loves HS. The thought of getting to Epcot that quickly has me rethinking Park Hoppers!!! My sincerest thanks.

We have never been a park-hopping family. Our plan of action was always: get on the bus (or drive in if we were offsite), rope drop and close the same park. Next day, new park. BUT........

Last night after also "rethinking" it regarding the BC's proximity to EPCOT and DHS, I mentioned to my DH some of the unique benefits to having a hopper pass when staying at this resort. He said, "Go for it!" So I'm calling to add the hopping option to all of our tix! I want to, as helenb said, feel like the World Showcase is part of our resort!! I think it will be cool to come "home" from MK via the Epcot monorail (love entering Epcot this way!), walk through Epcot (hitting a ride or two), exiting at International Gateway and right to our resort!!

We have a reservation for GV CL from 9/20-9/27. After talking a lot about it we would like to switch from CL to FD....but still stay at the BCR. All of the FD rooms are sold out - nothing left. I'm wondering what our chances are of one opening up over the next few months. I'm hoping that a lot of people are still changing reservations around and maybe if I watch it closely I can snag one of them! Thoughts???

I don't think you'll regret switching to hoppers. I can't imagine staying at BC without that flexibility. It's a real treat to use World Showcase for lunch or dinner quick service. Or snacks. Or drinks. So much yum in one 5 minute walk from your resort room. Our favorite is to grab lunch at the bakery in France and walk back to our room to eat and relax for the afternoon before heading to another park.

I think you will love it!!! We definitely utilize EPCOT as our own personal restaurant row. Lol :-))

Oh yes, you definitely need parkhoppers if you stay at an Epcot resort. You will always wanting to be hopping into a park for dinner.

You definitely want parkhoppers! I agree, at a monorail resort you probably wouldn't use them, but at an Epcot resort you will. LOL, the World Showcase isn't just 'part of our resort', it's our 'food court'! :D If you're staying many days, the parkhopper option isn't that expensive, and is well worth it. And now with the changes to FP+ you can even use your 3 scheduled FP+ in your morning park and then look for a 4th one when you get to Epcot later in the day.

Yes, walking through the International Gateway to exit Epcot feels special... especially if it is right after Illuminations! Masses and masses of people going to the Future World exit, and you are breaking away from the crowd to your 'private' exit, with your resort right there. Feels great!

Last time we were at WDW we stayed at BC at the end of the wing closest to Epcot. 5 minutes after Illuminations ended, we would be in our room, and I'd be tucking the kids into bed! We ended off most nights with Illuminations in this way, and the nights when we were too tired/lazy to go, we could watch the high fireworks from our patio!

Agree! Although I think I would want hoppers no matter where I stayed if it was onsite. We haven't done the single park tickets since we tried hoppers (13 years ago!).

BC is a very popular resort and fills up fast. Have you checked to see if the YC would be available for FD? It might be worth it to switch.

Agree! Wouldn't think of staying in Epcot resort w/o hoppers. We have dinner there most nights and sometimes just walk in to go to bakery in France!!

Paid off our balance today woohooo!!!!! Now I can't wait for the magic bands to arrive. It seems so official now :) My DS is 7 and we last went when he was 5. We told him we'd be back when he turned 10 and luckily we are able to financially swing another trip.

I was really struggling where to go this summer for our family vacation and my DH suggested Disney after he had a business meeting at Disneyland in Feb. He actually suggested a trip this summer because he knows our son is getting older and he wants to enjoy it with him again while he's still relatively young. Last time I spent a year planning and this seems to have come together quickly but that makes the wait go by quicker hooray! I can't believe I convinced DH to stay at YC again as well... we weren't planning to spend that much but it really is the best option for our family- the pool and location can't be beat!!!

Lou Mongello (who does another podcast/books/tours etc) was doing a live podcast from Hurricane Hannahs, Martha's Vineyard, and a 1 bedroom unit at the BCV last night

It was a hoot. He was drinking Sunken Treasures and getting No Way Jose's.

Can this be found on youtube? I'm looking. Can't find it. :confused3

Subscribing. My friend and I will be at the Beach Club from January 4-13th for the 2015 Dopey Challenge. This is our first time staying at the BC, and her first time staying at an EPCOT resort.

Strange question for my Beach Club peeps: A friend suggested I surprise my wife with a stop at the Main Street Barber at the MK so she can be sprinkled with some pixie dust. Is this possible, and is it a good idea? I'm the Disney fanatic, so I want this trip full of special moments for her. But is it silly for a middle aged woman to get pixie dust? Do you need an appointment?

You may need to wait in line.. If she doesn't want to wait for some plastic to be dumped on her - it might be uneventful. The best WDW moments are unplanned...
