Are there balcony rooms on the ground floor?
As Nannette said, there are patio rooms. These are very nice, though. We stayed in one of these rooms on our first trip. We absolutely loved it. We had a water view room at the Yacht Club. We sat on the patio and let the kids romp in the grass near the wedding gazebo. A few nights, we just walked from our patio to the water's edge to view Illuminations. Ahhhhh....

So bummed out! Coming in on the 2nd for my birthday with my sis for a long weekend and were so looking forward to introducing my sister. We will miss you and will have to wait until June/July when I am back with Ron and Nicki

Have a super weekend and I look forward to seeing you in June/July!!! Please tell your sister hi ... have a wonderful time!!!!

Watching Tangled on TV. Do you think 112 days is too early to start a Disney movie per night countdown? ;)
We have been watching 1-2/week most weeks since December. We call it Disney pre-gaming, and I usually post which movies we're watching on Pinterest and Twitter. I'm trying to get my hands on "So Dear to My Heart," a rare find apparently. I love the song "Lavender Blue," that comes from it.

You really picked a good time for the the Keys to the Kingdom Tour! So jealous! Can't wait to see that episode of The Middle.
Me either! Can't wait! Charlie McDermott, who plays Axl has been posting a few pics on Twitter.
I had asked those in the restuarant thread about The Fountain at the Dolphin and got really great feedback about it. It's also an ice cream/burger soda fountain place and I heard you can usually always do a walk up. It may be an alternative to Beaches and Cream now. If someone tries it let us know if they think it may be a "hidden gem" popcorn:: I went about 10 years ago when we stayed at the Dolphin and I liked it then. :confused3
I always think that when people complain about not being able to get into B&C. It's a nice alternative, a friend who usually travels with us loves it there.
Hey gang! DH and I have decided to do our 18th anniversary dinner while we are in the World!:cool1: We will be kidless that night..... Any suggestions? We aren't picky eaters. Thanks!:cool1:
ScottMc says Narcoossee's or Citrico's JNPants says "Narcoossee's." (We also love Flying Fish!)
Blue zoo would be really great for an anniversary dinner! Great drinks, appetizers and meals that aren't always your standard fare. They had a nice multi course chefs' dinner paired with wines that we tried once. It was a great experience.
DP went there for dinner when he was in Orlando for work. He loved it but labeled it as very eclectic (read:ScottMc wouldn't like it). I've had cocktails there and it certainly is beautiful!
Artist Point is Bob's and my favorite for a special occasion.
We have a rez here in August. We can't wait!
This will be our first stay at BC, is there a bakery or fast type place for breakfast? We like to use a snack credit for breakfast.
They also serve light breakfast baked goods at Ale and Compass at YC, or if you don't mind a wee walk, there are several options at Boardwalk Bakery or on one of the several carts set up on the Boardwalk itself. Sent from my iPhone using DISBoards

Scott ... when in August at Artist Point? Bob and my 35th anniversary is in August and we are thinking of going there for it ... and maybe a few nights at the cabins ... not sure since we'll be at the cabins and the Grand in late July with Jeanne and the Princess.

August 17. I haven't been here since we took my sister to a Pocahontas breakfast there in roughly 1999!

Hi, everyone~!
We've had a wonderful stay at BC last Oct/Nov thanks to this wonderful thread. Although, we've stayed at YC before, I found out so much more about the resort b/c of this thread. We are returning this Aug at YC once again :cool1: and it's time to get back to the thread. Just wanted to say hi and everyone have nice weekend!!!:goodvibes

We're going again in July. AP is my adult niece's favorite restaurant. The food there is great!

We have an ADR for Eater Sunday dinner at AP. Really enjoyed it last September and looking forward to dinner there in a few weeks. Yummy!

We had to cancel last year's September trip. We're going to try again this year - Sept. 13-21 or as long as I can stretch it out. :rolleyes1

Artists Point sounds nice for your anniversary! We've never tried it. I used to love Narcoossee's for a special meal, but last time we went for my friends birthday, I felt it had gone downhill :confused3. Maybe just an off night and not a great server.
AP would be a nice boat ride from the cabins. More fun then driving!

Dee - saw your post where you said you live with Axel from the Middle.

Unfortunately I live with Hailey from Modern Family!

Hope you are having fun planning your Hawaii trip - can't wait to hear all the details.

We leave in a little over three weeks for our Easter break trip to the "Dark Side" - can't wait! It's our "do over" trip.

Anyone at the marketplace there lately see Chip & Dale Tropical Tiki Mix?? It's sooooo tasty! Just wondering..

Tomorrow is our last day at the BC. We are getting on the Magical Express after lunch.

We got up early for our Keys to the Kingdom Tour. DH was willing and ready to go this morning. :thumbsup2 We had to be at the MK by 8:15am and we able to catch a bus at 7:20am. We were at the MK in about 20 minutes with plenty of time to walk around. We saw the cameras down in the hub, the area where the partners statue was. By the time our tour went past that area, there were big white screens, lots of lights, and the actors who play the family in The Middle were waiting to film their scenes.

The KTTK tour was very interesting. We had two guides, one was the "detail" person and one was the "color" one. There were too many things we learned about to really go over here, but I'll mention a couple of them. We had our own special ride on the Jungle Cruise. Instead of listening to the usual corny jokes, our guide took over and described some of the secrets and facts about the ride while we traveled through the attraction. We continued through Frontierland while the guides talked. There was just tons of stories we heard and information we learned throughout, and it was really interesting. We also went behind the scenes and saw the parade floats and the huge buildings that are the sound stages for the Pirates and Splash Mountain. The giant water tanks for that ride are there.

We had lunch at Columbia Harbor House and then went over to the Haunted Mansion. We got to ride that one, too. We spent some time in Liberty Square, then on to the behind the scenes area of Main Street USA. That is where the motor homes for the stars of The Middle were located. Each of the five family members got their own motor home. I saw the actors that play the father and oldest son walking through that area. Everyone else on the tour was listening to the guides talking, but I was watching the actors. ;) The guy who plays Axl turned to look at us. I waved at him and he waved back at me. That was fun. ::yes:: Our tour group was standing near Patricia Heaton's motor home. She was walking right toward us but looking down at her smart phone, not paying any attention to us. Teena told us that famous people who don't want to be bothered will walk with their heads down like that, which is perfectly understandable. We were on a tour, after all, and not supposed to be watching the TV stars. ;)

Then we went down into the underground corridors. It was interesting but to tell the truth, by this time we were all ready for the tour to be over. It was six hours long when you count the half hour lunch period. But we enjoyed it very much, even my husband enjoyed himself. As we were leaving the MK, the filming for The Middle had moved to the front of the train station of MK. I think it made the tour a little more exciting to add the TV show filming to it. :goodvibes

We got back to the BC around 2:30pm, visited with Teena a bit, and learned a few more secrets. ;) We had just enough time for a nap before heading off to Downtown Disney for La Nouba at Cirque du Soleil.

This time my husband agreed to take a taxi to DTD. We walked out the door of the BC and over to the valet stand, where we got a taxi that had just dropped off some passengers. We were at DTD in 15 minutes. DH thought that worked out very well. :) We grabbed another cab back after the show and stopped at the Crew's Cup Lounge for our second dinner there of the trip. Their cheeseburger is fantastic and so was the clam chowder. :goodvibes

We are planning to spend some time at Epcot before getting on the ME for our trip back to the cold north. We have been so busy having fun that we haven't had a chance to ride DH's favorite Epcot ride, Spaceship Earth. And I'll have a final chance to get a pink grey goose slush before going home. And the shrimp and grits are high on the "must do" list, too.

It has been a great trip. :goodvibes

I haven't been able to get everything done on my "to do" list, but maybe there are some other people who can help Ninja Mom out with "Shower gate". We just haven't had time to get over there.

I'll post some pictures and information about our room later. It is back to work on Wednesday, which is always tough after a vacation, especially since all my work waits for me. :faint:

Thanks for this review! We are doing the KTTK tour in August - my husbands first wish for the tour is to go to Haunted Mansion, so I'm pleased to hear it was part of your tour.

I just read that you can buy a case of Dansani water at the BC Marketplace, can anyone confirm this? THX!

Looking to surprise DD and her friend with this tour....Anyone have any feedback on it??

I did this tour in November! I LOVED it! You actually spend about 30ish mins in the water with the dolphins. You learn a little about dolphin behavior and get your picture with a dolphin. I loved it because it WASN'T a swim with the dolphins. I am anti swim with the dolphins! I just wanted to have the interaction with them and that's what this tour was!!

Let me know if I can answer any questions

Here are some pictures from our recent stay at the Beach Club. We were in room 2582, a garden view room on the second floor, fairly close to the lobby. We used the lobby stairs all the time to get to our room. The room had a daybed, connecting door, and full balcony.

Here is the outside of the room. Our room is in the center of the first picture. We were above a little courtyard. Behind the trees straight ahead was Epcot. And we had a view of the high fireworks from Illuminations through the gap in the trees. We also could hear the British Revolution and the Canadian group "Off Kilter" from our balcony. We could see the villas to our left.

We also had this cute towel duck in addition to the standard Mickey towels and the strange Beach Club towel critter.

I took a few more pictures of the Beach Club. I haven't seen too many pictures of the courtyard between the BC and the villas.

We ate breakfast in the Solarium quite a few times. This is a picture looking out of the window of the Solarium. You are looking at the little outdoor eating area for the Marketplace. There are a lot of tables out here. They continue along the walkway to the villas.

I took this picture of the Solarium and outdoor eating area while standing over by the villas.

We went to the Captain's Grille for breakfast twice. On our second visit we were lucky enough to sit right in front of the windows with the sailboats that move. From far away this looks like a picture, but when you get close up you can see that it is a window that is a least a foot or so deep. The boats ride on separate tracks.

I couldn't get a good picture of the window on the right.

This is the middle panel and since our seat was right in front of this one, I was able to get a sideways shot to try and show the interior of the window.

And this is us on the day we took the Keys to the Kingdom Tour. They were painting the castle and that is white primer on the roof section. The cameras for the TV show The Middle are just out of view to my right. It rained a little that morning.

I took all my pictures with my iPhone, which explains the low quality.
