The past two years there has been a 24 hour party at MK. First one was for Leap Day and lady years was to Celebrate Monsters University. A lot of people think that they will continue to do one once a year since they are so popular.

Memorial Day weekend, most likely the Friday before.

Supposedly, one of the themes under serious consideration would be villains particularly after the popularity of the Unleash the Villains event. Of course, Disney is also putting out the Maleficent movie early this summer so it probably would serve to also market that. The three possible dates I've heard are May 23 (most likely), May 30 (to coincide with the release of Maleficent), or May 3 (not sure why but that's what I've heard). Should be fun.

Anecdotally, i read numerous trip reports that the place cleared out alot from 1am til close, plus MK offers far more to do than DHS so I would suspect the crowding wouldnt be as bad as the Villains event. Seems they wildly underestimated interest that time. I selfishly hope for a May 30th Malificient tie in, because flight costs would be noticeably lower than Memorial Day Weekend.

From an In The Know family friend, there are some management people that HATE the 24 hour events. it causes them to bring in alot of overtime workers and doesnt bring in much extra money.

Everything at this point is still pointing to May 23 with the announcement coming at the April media event with the theme being Rock Your Disney Side.

I still think Disney should have a "medal" like the runDisney medals to give to Guests who complete the entire 24 hours at these events!
