uber is what I would recommend then! It is half the price of a taxi and they are usually so clean. I can send you a code too for a free ride if you want too! :) have a blast!

My DH is an uber-fanatic!! If we already have accounts will the free ride work?? Thanks!!

Getting excited. First ever time staying at the GF and I only have 10 days to go til I get there!

Oh my, this is a trip you are going to regret...because as we all know too well on this board, once you stay Grand, you won't want to stay anywhere else!!!!!!

Seriously, enjoy your trip - my ticker is off, we are Dolphining for F&W and arriving on the 28th - we have dinner reservations for Narcoossees on the 29th, so we will be grand visiting!

Officially booked my DS' graduation trip at the VGF for June! So excited! So a few questions, we booked a lakeview studio. Any room recommendations that I should request? How far are the villas from the main building and buses/monorail? Also, we will be arriving via DME. hoping that I just get a text with our room # before we arrive like I did this past Sept when we stayed at POR. But if that does not happen, where do we check in at if we are staying at the villas? The main building or the villas building? Thanks!
On page one post 15 dvc has this post and another link to the room and views threads.

These show the building layout and what to expect with certain rooms and views.

We had a lake view room ending in 06 . We loved that view!

Have a great family trip!

We are returning to the GF RPC after a long break of at least 12 years! We have stayed at the BWI CL the last three years and will be returning there next year as well but are spending three nights (Feb. 23-26) at the Grand! Trying to read through all these posts and love the photo's. My main question now is what options do I have for room requests? We have theme park view and if I remember right those rooms look over the marina towards the castle. They will be on the third and fourth floors right? Do I have any options or one request that is better than another? Way back in 97 we stayed in a room that looked over the marina towards the castle. I don't think you had to pay extra for that view then, it was just luck of the draw. I'm just at a loss as to what to be looking for or are all the TPV rooms the same?

Hi everyone, I have a question for those of you who have stayed at GF and requested a handicap accessible room. Is there a way to book a handicap accessible room (need either tub rails or a roll in shower, would be okay with either) or is it just a request?

I looked on touring plans for rooms with either of those attributes and only pulled up a handful of rooms and some of those were club level so those would be out (we'd be booking garden view). I'm just concerned that we won't get a handicap room, though I will try to keep my request to a minimum to up my chances of getting the handicap room.

I was just wondering if anyone had experience booking those type of rooms and if they actually book them as a category or if it's just going to need to be my main request.

Thanks for any info, I appreciate it!

I have only stayed on the 2nd floor but I think I would be happy with any on that section. FYI our room 4201 had a tree in front of it .it looked like 4301 would not be as blocked but just have to look over the top. Other than that a nice view of water and and castle should be seen by the rest :)

I hope you have the best vacation ever -- and whatever you do, don't eat all those liquid nitrp chocolate almond truffle with warm whiskey caramels that Chew is serving over at F&W - please leave at least two for me and Nikki!

It's something you can actually book, it is a bookable category. If you're on the website searching for rooms, you will need to check the box marked "Accessible Rooms". The accessible categories will only show up when you check that box. Once you check that box then the results will only be accessible rooms like:

Outer Bldg-Standard Room-Club Level Access. Hearing accessible - visual alarms and notifications. 2 queen beds, 1 daybed

Outer Bldg-Standard Room-Club Level Access. Wheelchair accessible with tub and option for hearing accessibility. 2 queen beds

Main Bldg-Theme Park-Club Level. Hearing accessible - visual alarms and notifications. 2 queen beds, 1 daybed.

These are just a few of the results.
