Hi GF friends! Where is everyone? Page 3 rescue!!!!
I was busy booking RPC!!!

After @BlueSkies explained what she meant by seeing CP and NPH I called mom.

Do you want to see a Christmas show narrated by Neil Patrick Harris MOM??? We also will see my friend and family from last trip.

"YES I do"!!!:goodvibes

SO 2 nights BWI and 2 nights RPC. That way we do the stuff over there without taking that pesky TTC mono transfer. Those ramps are killers for grandmas.

So happy. When we canceled our March trip I was hoping we could rebook. YAY:banana:

:flower1: So awesome!!

Booked in the Grand Suite in July. Is the elevator across the vestibule from the room entrance a guest elevator or service elevator (that guests can use?) Where does it drop you off on the first floor?

Good question! I know the elevator in the lounge does go down to the first floor. The other elevator on the opposite end of the building goes down the the frost as well right near Gaspies.

I think it's a service elevator but maybe it's for suite people? If no one here answers I would call the new dss and ask.

Can't wait to here about your room if you have time.

Yes you may use the elevator. It is the preferred elevator to use for the pool, and will be closer to the bus stop if you are using the buses and the boat dock. If you have a car or taking the monorail you will want to use the main elevator. It does not go to the lobby and you can't get to the monorail on the 2nd floor. It goes to the 2nd floor deluxe king rooms. Take it down the first time so you can see where it comes out...it's not readily apparent from outside, you have to go through a door near Gaspies. You will need to use your MB on the elevator. Sometimes easier and sometimes not depending where you are going.

Ah, yes... the 'secret elevator' - I was so glad to have read about it on here before I stayed at RPC last year. Be aware it sort of looks/feels like a service elevator (particularly the ground floor hallway/entrance). The first few times I was like "am I really supposed to be using this?" But we used it every time we went to the pools or boat, very convenient. Enjoy the suite!

Wait...you cancelled a March trip too?? I had to cancel my bd trip. Sad, sad. Luckily, sis and I are going the first week of May, so I can get excited for that now!

I saw that somewhere. You missed last years bday trip too, didn't you?

Mom wasn't ready but I did go with dd instead in march . It was her last school break, so I HAD to. Right?

What are you girls plans? A visit to gf at least!

Hi! Does anyone know if the cabanas are by the kid's Alice in wonderland splash area? We are going down in May and am thinking about renting a cabana but it would be a huge bonus if it were by this area. Thanks for any information!

Oldish post but I just got back and wanted to give some info that was new (to me at least), sorry if this is on page 1 and/or obvious info.

There are no cabanas at the splash area as has been noted, but there IS one reserved seating area available to rent. I don't remember this being there last Feb when I was at GF, so not sure if something new?

Think "cabana light." It has a large canopy umbrella and multiple very nice seating options with nice/comfy cushions. It does not have the same amenities as the regular cabanas (no fridge w/ beverages, no TV, no power, etc) and I don't think it's serviced by an attendant the way the others are.

Here's a pic. When the umbrella is open it fully shades that L-shaped couch. We rented a regular cabana on our arrival day, but in retrospect this would have been a better option for us. Hope this helps!

There was some recent discussion a page or two back about watching Wishes from GF. I watched one night this past week from in front of Gaspy's. Was sitting on the ground, on the first step past those two rows of tables. Walked right up a few minutes before show time.

Definitely a good spot, but I was a bit disappointed in the volume. It was really low. Audible, but low. Note the big bursts are quite a bit off to the left of the castle from this angle.

Half way through I got up and walked around. This is from a different spot, closer to the SL side.

Going to be very interesting to see what the new show is like and how "good" viewing will be outside of the park with the increased use of projections.

We are so excited to be checking in a week from tomorrow! I can't believe it's finally here. We are staying 5 days, my family of five plus my parents and sister. I can't wait to share the trip and pics of this lovely resort!
Hope you make some wonderful memories!

Do you know if they have puddle jumpers at the pool, or do they just have life jackets? I'd love to leave our puddle jumper at home if we can.

Yep. Had to cancel last year too. Had to attend a funeral. I'm just not supposed to go for my bd, I guess.
You better believe we will be spending time at the GF! lol Lots of time. And for the first time, we will visit all 4 parks, thanks to the "park a day" pass they have right now.

So excited to be coming back to the GF on 7/14/17 for 4 nights after our double dip Bahamas cruise. So many new things at the parks this summer, I really need to catch up.
