...The BCV will be next and will start while the rehab is still going on at the BC. Once the BC is done, they will start at the YC. The BCV will be in the middle and overlapping.

I am hoping that the BCV rehabbing doesn't start until AFTER we are gone (please oh please oh please!). We will be there January 22 - 29. We were at the VWL last year during their rooms being rehabbed and with severe allergies to dust, mold and a couple other environmental things... let's just say it wasn't a good trip for me.

I knew about the refurb taking place at the BC- I guess what threw me was the 20 month time frame. Lets hope its done sooner.

We are staying at the YC CL Dec 2015 so it looks like it won't have any effect on us, hopefully!!!

By December 2015 it will be happening at the YC for sure but hopefully the fifth floor (CL) will be done by then. I heard they anticipate it to take ten months at the BC and then ten months at the YC and in the middle of it, going on simultaneously, will be the BCV.

Again, it should not affect anybody staying there and I doubt you'd even notice it was going on.

Hi all
My mom daughter and I will be traveling from Australia next August 17-26 for a vacation at the BC - woohoooo

You chose wisely!!! ::yes::

In addition to the pleasure of chaperoning 130 13-and-14-year-olds, we agree to do so without the benefit of alcohol! And virtually no free time.

:scared1:

(I honestly can't wait! :banana::banana::banana:)

You are a better woman than I ... I could not agree to do this without the benefit of alcohol:rotfl:

We just did it - we booked our stay from 09/25/2015 to 10/02/2015 in Beach Club!!!!

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Thanks to all for all the helpful information and advise!!!!

12 days until we check in for our first YC stay! Quick question about the Captain's Grill - it seems that day-of reservations may be easy to get for there. True? We are thinking of doing breakfast there but will need to wait until that morning to see if we get ourselves out of bed earlier enough! We have so many action packed days and I don't want to commit to an ADR there if we don't have to! TIA!

Congratulations. Now all the fun starts with planning the itinerary, the meals, the fast-pass selections, even the color you want your magic bands to be. Enjoy and we look forward to your posts and questions over the next 11 months.

What I really want to hear about are your plans when you have them settled on your drive down from Washington DC. That sounds really exciting. You could probably pick up a couple of the DISers on this thread on your way to help you drive. There are a few that wouldn't mind helping out I'm sure!

That has been my experience on my two stays at the YC and from what I've been reading on this thread of the experience of others over the years.

Day IV - Friday

Mother Nature is Still Smiling ~

Enjoyed a relaxing morning on my own, while DH and DS's played at Typhoon Lagoon. I decided to head over to DHS on my own around 11:00. I entered DHS (through bag check and band check) exactly 20 minutes from the time I took a seat on the boat.

DHS was buzzing! I enjoyed an early lunch at ABC Commissary, their Asian Chicken Salad was delicious...then headed over to The Great Movie Ride, love this ride. DH & DS's left TL at 12:25, made it back to YC, changed, then a boat ride to DHS, to make it in time for our 1:35 FP+ for Indiana Jones! I asked them if they felt like they were on the amazing race...lol. DH made it into Indiana Jones as an extra, which delighted our youngest DS, and terrified our older DS! The stunt show was Spectacular. DH & DS's rode Tower of Terror (twice), I opted for Muppets 3D. We stopped to cool off at Scoops (generous portions), then made our way to Beauty and the Beast. We utilized the FP+ kiosk for the first time, and rode The Great Movie Ride together. The ride had an alternate version, slightly different from my morning experience. It was a nice surprise!

Dinner at 50's Primetime Cafe was a blast, from start to finish. Our server, Carole (from Queens, NY), played the perfect part...."set the table", "elbows off the table", "no phones, it's family time"....etc. Our dinner was delicious, and we really enjoyed our experience. It was 8:00 by the time we finished, we headed for the boats...

We could see Hocus Pocus playing on the beach. I was too tired to attempt watching, I may have fallen asleep on the lounge chair. Our room was all made up and inviting. There was an Elephant towel animal, with sunglasses on this time, on one of our beds..DH & DS's hit SAB until about 10:00.

We slept until 9:30 on Saturday, wiped out....to be continued....

When we went to check in to the CR yesterday, a CM greeted us outside and instead of taking us to the Atrium CL on the 12th floor as we had originally booked, she took us to the 14th CL floor. Upon checking in, we learned we received some crazy pixie dust and were upgraded to a 2BR suite!!!! OMG, this suite is just amazing and we're still in shock!

We'll be checking out shortly and moving over to the YC CL and have to admit that I may be leaving kicking and screaming :lmao:.. What a start to our anniversary trip:love::love:

That's fantastic!

While I much prefer YC to CR, we did stay on the 14th floor of the CR once and we loved it there! A 2BR suite is a great upgrade!

Thanks so much! The menu for breakfast there looks fantastic so we will probably end up having a breakfast there. :thumbsup2

Can anyone tell me about the toiletries at BC? This is our first stay and not sure what goodies are provided. Would like to save space in the suitcase and cut out what's provided for free!
