2013 dates

We were on the Dream this august and there were maybe 20 or so teens in the Vibe. They had a great time . there were more teens on board but they did not go to the club. They don't know what they were missing.

I posted this on a different thread. My take is it will have nothing to do with 2013 or the Fantasy. I think they will be saying on Monday Gold and Platium members can book and on Tuesday everyone can book the second Hawaii cruise rumored for Oct. 2012. That's it. Nothing more.

You might be onto something there. :thumbsup2

I know a lot of people are hoping for 2013 announcements soon, but I am hoping the people who are saying November are right. That will give us time to save for the deposit, and October is going to be too expensive a month to be paying a deposit for DCL. But, if bookings do open late September or October, I guess we'll just have to pay a extra for our cruise, and a lot of people will be happy. ;)

Someone on another thread said they got an email from Disney about a Hawaii sailing October 14, 2012 and gold/platinum could book Monday..

I was hoping for 2013 announcement.. but I'll take it..

ANNOUNCEMENT:

Disney Cruise Line Adds Second Hawaiian Cruise

Based on an overwhelming response to its first Hawaiian itinerary, Disney Cruise Line® is adding a second Hawaiian cruise to its 2012 schedule.

The new 14-night itinerary departs Oct. 14, 2012, from Los Angeles. It includes stops at Kahului, Maui; Nawiliwili, Kauai; Honolulu, O'ahu; and Hilo, Hawai'i; plus Ensenada, Mexico. In addition, there are eight relaxing days at sea.

Bookings open today at 8 a.m. EDT for Clients who are Platinum and Gold Castaway Club Members. Silver Castaway Club Members and first-time Guests can book beginning Monday, Sept. 26.

The addition of a second Hawaiian voyage complements a diverse array of 2012 itineraries departing from the West Coast, including cruises to the Mexican Riviera, Pacific Coast and Alaska.

I was gong ho about this.. seeing Hawaii.. on a Disney ship.. but then I'm thinking 8 days @ sea.. and one in Mexico.. how many days does this leave for Hawaii.. may pass and see what 2012 holds?

I have someone putting a hold, but am thinking after I hear the prices today.. I probably will not do it.

4 Days to Hawaii + 4 Days back = 8 Days at sea ;)

The stop in Mexico is to skirt the US law requiring ships that solely operate in US waters from having to have a 100% American crew. By the way, that's the same law that prevented international ships from helping during the gulf oil spill. Sometimes laws make no sense :confused3

Whiel I'd love to take this cruise, it will be at the start of the school year. If we did, we'd just stay on the ship during the Mexico stop and enjoy the extra room around the pool :thumbsup2

@ SmilingGrump .. I doubt I would get off in Mexico either.. and with 8 days @sea it sure doesn't leave much for the islands.. I am not sure the teenager could go with us on this one.. which makes it iffy for me.. he has older siblings that could watch him... just not sure.. have to see how this plays out..

Just got off the phone with my TA.. here are some of the prices for Hawaii.. she said they are changing as they speak.. but its at least a jumping point.

Watching this thread so I can book either a 2013 summer or winter trip. :)

I did a 14 day Panama Canal cruise as a 14 year old and I would not take another one again. By day 9 we were bored and really wanted to get off and go home. It wasn't Disney but even if it was by 9-10 days as a teen you've seen abd done all that you wanted to do and are ready to get back to your old life. As an adult I can't see being stuck on a ship for 4 sea days at a time much less twice in one trip. Maybe it would be something I would consider during retirement? Just think I would feel trapped and bored with so many days at sea. I think if a person loves sea days this is the perfect trip. However, after going to Maui recently for 8 days and truly feeling like that was just not enough time, this 14 day trip doesn't seem to provide enough time to really enjoy all that Hawaii has to offer. If you've seen it all and just want a long sea day cruise that includes snippets of Hawaii then it seems perfect.

The law (Passenger Vessels Services Act) requires foreign-flagged ships (almost all cruise ships) that sail from the same US port (i.e., round-trip cruises) to stop in a foreign port. Hence - the Ensenada, Mexico stop. The ship could not do one-way cruises between two different US ports (LA and Honolulu) without making a distant foreign port stop. That's why the only one-way cruises you see to Hawaii are repositioning cruises between the US and another country.

I had wanted to go to Hawaii but have been there and had a wonderful cruise on RCI to Hawaii. We want a TA back to Florida. Plus can pay that off longer.

I asked my TA to move a dummy booking to the Hawaii cruise, but I should wait to see the Transatlantic itineraries.

I just sent DCL a message on their web site - letting them know I was "disgusted" that Silver Castaway Club members get no advance booking over the general public! I'll be interested to hear how they have justified that practice...several times!

Could you please post these prices in the HI price sticky if you haven't already done so?
thanks

What they did to Silver is just wrong! Wait 3 days before booking. Those that want to go can't..

I wish Disney would dock over there for a summer and just do 7-night island cruise like NCL does. We did NCL in 2008 -- would never take them again, but being able to spend so time over there on land was worth it. I wouldn't want to "waste" 8 days at sea. I'd rather fly over and spend time in Honolulu and Maui again. Who knows, maybe they'll do something like that in 2013 instead of Alaska. If they did, we'd book it immediately. I would LOVE to do the islands again, but am sure we'd have a much better time on Disney ;)

I was stunned by how they did this at all. I never got a tweet or an email notice and found out this morning that they opened up bookings for gold and platinum at 8 a.m. If I had been interested in this, I would have lost out on early booking prices! Can't figure out how they pick and choose who gets notifications (email, postcard, etc.) and who doesn't when we're all supposed to be the same levels and that is supposed to be an advantage :confused3
