2013 dates

that is good information

i have never done more than a 7 night
and know my kids would have been lonely if not too many kids were on board

my days of sailing with my kids are almost over

8-NIGHT FLORIDA & BAHAMAS (Starting at $979)

Cruise Ports: Galveston, Texas; Key West, Florida; Port Canaveral, Florida; Castaway Cay, Bahamas; Galveston, Texas

Would the above include a day in WDW-similar to the NY cruise? I love, love this itinerary-only four hours away for us to board and a day in WDW:banana:

I would be absolutely GIDDY over that itinerary... :cloud9: DS and I are already unspeakably overjoyed at "our ship" coming to "our port", but were disappointed that we wouldn't get to visit Castaway Cay. This itinerary would be perfect!! I'm just hoping upon hope that they extend the schedule into at least February 2013 out of Galveston. *fingers crossed*

I think they have port listings for GC through April of 2013 which seems to indicate of Magic going to Tx.

Can you please tell me what time of year you have seen this? I've asked around here before and gotten the response that as a Disney ship there would always be lots of kids.

Sure, I was on the 11 Southern Caribbean and there were only a handful of children in 2006. Seems to be that cruises that I've taken in the September and first of October months are pretty void of children. This is due to school starting.

I've found that the longer cruises, that I've been on, have less children on them.

We did a 10 night Med cruise last year during May and there were not many kids on it at all. Especially older kids/teens. But....this was wonderful! My DD(4) got tons of attention in the club and really had a blast getting to know the other children, since they were together so much. For older kids, it may be more of an issue, but for younger kids, it can be a definite plus!

We're hoping for back-to-back Med cruises (Eastern & Western), so 14 nights on the ship. We did the b2b repo/1st Alaskan and had 13 nights on the Wonder. Loved it! Would not hesitate to do it again!

The way DCL has scheduled cruises over the past couple of years (transatlantic cruises in April and September, etc. etc.) makes one wonder if they are trying to "discourage" family sailings ;)

Yes I miss the after school gets out or before school gets in appoach! ::yes::
That is how we were able to do the EB Repo in 2008!:thumbsup2
That was our best cruise ever! :upsidedow

I have heard some stories of bored teens causing issues on the last Panama Canal cruise that was in August you could be on to something.

I heard more stories about the adults causing problems on that cruise! :thumbsup2

The kids (at least my 4) all had a blast! ::yes::

OMG -- we had horror stories about the teens on our PC crossing in 2005. Just groups of them laying around on the stairways, stair landings and hallways just complaining about how bored they were and why did their parents bring them. My daughter, who was 18 at the time, was stunned that they weren't enjoying such a great opportunity :confused3

On the opposite end of the spectrum -- when we sailed on the Dream this past May, there were NO children or teens. In fact, the teen club never opened! Only infants and pre-schoolers. That was a very different experience for us.

Next year we sail on HAL in May and I've read many trip reports saying how much trouble passengers have had with rude seniors :scared1: I'll let ya know how that works out :rotfl::rolleyes:

I guess the seniors choose the slower times of year because they like their peace and quiet, and they get upset at the youngins when they go on "their" cruise. :confused3

I'll be the first to admit that I love the longer cruises. On the longer cruises, there tends to be less children, that's just the way it happens. And yes, sometimes that's really nice.

I'll also admit that sometimes it's fun to sail on a ship and be a kid again by getting to make flubber and do other fun things in the lab.

I enjoy watching the children when they're onboard and I enjoy having that "all adults" feel on the longer cruises when they're not.

I'm 49 and don't consider myself senior although thanks to DH being 53, we are members of AARP...

I do wish that Disney would/could do an Adults Only cruise and the longer the cruise the closer that really comes to happening. Just because it's Disney doesn't mean it just about kids. I'm a kid at heart! Does that count?;)

PLease steer me if I missed it, but are the new release dates coming in October? For later in 2013?

That's a cruise I'd book!

Just got off the Dream and were told that the new dates would probably come out in November.

That would be fun! Our 11 night Southern Caribbean in 2006 was almost an adult only cruise. Less than 300 children on the whole ship.

Disney books to other "special interest" groups (for lack of a better phrase). Why not adults only?

DCL tweeted that an exciting announcement is coming tomorrow...

I posted this on a different thread. My take is it will have nothing to do with 2013 or the Fantasy. I think they will be saying on Monday Gold and Platium members can book and on Tuesday everyone can book the second Hawaii cruise rumored for Oct. 2012. That's it. Nothing more.
