3 weeks from today!!!!

One more full week of work (and school) and then some serious Disssing!

Still a littler nervous about just using TIW (no DDP) although my head knows it's way better for us now that the kids are "Disney adults". I just have to keep DH from looking at the right side of the menu!

PittPathFan - hope you are having a magical time. What DTD hotel did you stay in? We always stay at Buena Vista Palace - was wondering how the others were.

We too are making that switch for our next trip - I think it will be great to eat how we want! Can't wait to hear how it works for you.

Middle of night post- all is quiet at the BC. I woke up from a sound sleep with a coughing jag and now can't go back to sleep so I thought I'd do a brief update.

It worked out great driving all of the way and staying close ( usually we would stay about 4 hours out and have a short drive the 2nd day). It made it feel like we had an extra day here.

We slept in-ish till 8am then headed to BC. We were met by a CL greeter outside and she took us up to CL to check-in. We had breakfast in the lounge. Were told that we would get a text when room was ready. We stashed some bags with the valet that we were concerned about leaving in the car in the heat. We then did a quick trip to Walmart as hubby forgot a few things-amazing to me that I pack for myself and 3 kids and all is good with us! Came back and headed to Epcot.

Kids signed ip to do the Agent P mystery thing. It was good but a little slow moving- requires 30 minutes to do the whole thing. Kids thought it was good. We explored Japan and America. We all loved the American experience show.

At 2:30 got a texted that room was ready. Made our way back because the sky was threatening. We got our requests balcony and daybed. Expertly cleaned and in order. We are nearly the farthest away from the CL lounge but ok with us- nice and quiet. In my brief encounters with the CL cms managing the desk is that they seem a bit aloof. They seem to be training staff but the trainers weren't very enthusiastic themselves. Too early to pass complete judgement yet but they seem to be missing something compared to the last time.

The lounge was extremely busy for the appetizers probably because it rained but the line was about 25 when we got there at 5:30. Took our stuff back to the room. Beer selections same us on page 1. They did not have tags labeling the dishes which someone had mentioned as a problem on here a bit back. The cms in the lounge were crazy busy trying to keep up with the food. I have a suggestion which I may make if I get a survey- there is a nice open area that looks under used on the way to our room - it has a nice circular lounge chair and that is about it. I suggest putting a second buffet area there especially for the am and apps. It has plenty of room and would be a shorter walk for those with rooms the farthest away. Just my 2 cents.

Had dinner at garden grill and it was very good. Great character interaction. Food was tasty. We wanted to ride monorail to MK but it was broken. Took bus to MK because our kids don't think our vacation is started until we see the castle.

Got there just in time to see the water parade AND then the electrical parade. Space mountain walk-on, as well as Buzz Lightyear walk-on. Ended the evening with Monsters inc which our family always gets a good laugh. Short wait for resort bus but it was SRO which is difficult when you are tired.

Now I am finally getting sleepy again. We will be up early and to AK for rope drop. The beds are sooooo comfy!!

Thanks for the update PittPatherFan. We feel like we get the whole day at Disney experience when we stay at the DTD the night before. Plus running over to DTD is like a little tease of the trip ahead!

I wonder why they stopped labeling the appetizers - every time we've stayed CL they always how the little cards out. If you get a chance can you ask the CL cms why they stopped?

Hope you have wonderful weather and a magical trip! Say hi to Teena for me.

don't know that one...if they did it isn't there anymore or goes by another name. I spent 12 hours there yesterday walked the park at least 10 of them and rode two rides!!! We just liked to get our exercise and eat along the way while DD14 hung out with friends....

I think it is called The Turtle. Ancient ride, only 2 left in the US if the Kennywood one still exists

Sorry...missed your later post where you looked it up

The GKTW New England meet is at the end of the month. The meet is partly being held at a country club that is about a mile from where a former small park called Whalom Park used to stand and they had a Tumble Bug that later got scrapped

I hope to visit Kennywood one day

What time is your ADR?

We usually start meeting between 6 and 6:15 and then Teena pops over after her shift is over. Hope you can make it!!!!

7:30 at Le Celier. We are fast walkers so we can definitely come for a little while :)

This is our favorite way to arrive after a 6 hour drive from Macon. Time of arrival allows time to relax freshen up and dress for a long unhurried meal at a favorite full serve tv one of the resorts. California Grille is top pick but not this year. There is time to make some shopping stops along the monorail and enjoy the EWP or Wishes too from the resorts. Next AM we are on the road at sunrise to check in at our monorail resort (we do the online check in thing in person the night before). We self park, ditch the car in the resort parking lot and make it to the gate before the first ferry boat unloads to enjoy all those people in line in back of us. We exit the park after lunch to empty bags from the car to our room, grab a nap and return to the park for the night stuff. Never have been required to wait until 3PM for our room key. CR x2 and PR x2. We never expect to get the room key at 7AM so it becomes a magic moment each time it happened, but I've always felt showing up in person the night before had lots to do with it.

On the day of departure, we ring out as much as we can at WDW and plan on a 1600 to 2200 drive to Macon. Home is NW OHIO.

Great ideas!!!

We too are making that switch for our next trip - I think it will be great to eat how we want! Can't wait to hear how it works for you.

I've used the TIW card for several years now. I even bought the AP once when I was only going for one visit one year just so I could get TIW.

I suppose it really matters how you and your family eat. We like two TS meals a day, sometimes three if there's a character breakfast in there. We enjoy the mid day break in an air conditioned restaurant. We like to have wine and/or drinks with dinner. We've also had up to 8 people on the bill.

I hope it works out for you. It's my favorite way to go.

Never mind Buzzy! I'll take you up on THAT offer!!! It is a real offer... right??? I mean you wouldn't be trying to trick Buzzy would you?? Build up his hopes.... and then dash him, I mean them!

~NM

I would never try to trick Buzzy. We're flying down Tuesday (staying at OKW this trip on rented points) but we'll be stopping by the YC on Wednesday morning. I wouldn't want to get Buzzy mad at me, so I'll have everything all set to go. He just has to hold up his end of the bargain, or I'll be hunting him down - bug spray in one hand, fly swatter in the other! ::yes::

NinjaMom- you cracked me up & I busted out laughing at the Magnum PI shorty shorts! That was toooo funny! Hope you're having a great trip!

Sorry I've been so MIA on here lately, wedding planning has taken the place of Disney planning in my life. :scared1: But I did have a question for you YC experts. I noticed the latest ADR you can get at Yachtsman Steakhouse is 9:15 (which seems really early since the monorail resort restaurants take reservations as late as 9:50), does anyone have any experience getting there around 9:30? Did they hassle you about being late or turn you away? My plan is to watch Illuminations from near the International Gateway and then book it to dinner. Thanks for any help you guys can give. I think Shula's might be our backup because it's open later.

And for all of you looking for TiW reviews, we LOVE  it. Franklin and I like TS over CS most of the time and enjoy appetizers and drinks with our meals, so TiW saves us a bundle! Totally worth it and it's nice being able to order what we want vs. making our dining credits "worth" it. For instance, on our DHS days, we usually eat at 50s PTC and have found splitting an entree works much better than each ordering our own, same thing with The Plaza on our MK days. On the dining plans, we wouldn't be able to do that. TiW is nice because it's so fluid and you can really make it work for you.

I think on my two trips it was POR, then BW then YC/BC

Can anyone who has been more recently confirm or give the bus route you had?

Our BW trip in January was POR, PORFQ, BW, BC/YC

Does anyone know....

I am coming 1 day before DH. Can I exchange his AP voucher for a hard ticket before he gets there or does he have to do that? Just trying to save time:confused3

Nope, each passholder has to present photo ID when trading in a voucher. Sorry! But the CMs at IG are great and it should take no more than a minute or two for him to do the transaction once he gets there.

Thanks for the AP help. Anyone know how late the ticket window is open at the IG? DH wants to go to Via Napoli when he arrives so we got a8:45 ADR. Prob won't get to the ticket window until 8:30. Will they be open?

Before I forget re: question about buses. The BC bus from ak stopped at Swan and Dolphin and the Yc coming back from Ak.

My Mickey mail came yesterday! My husband came in waving the envelope and said I think you have been waiting for this!! How right he was!!:banana::banana:

Yay for Mickey Mail!

Can anyone remember what other resorts are on the ME bus route with Yacht Club? Is it BC and POR? My brother and his girlfriend just decided to tag along on our October trip (the same one my parents just decided to tag along on :grouphug:), and are staying at POR...even though he's 25, someone needs to make sure he makes it from point A to B!:rotfl2:
Thanks!!

We arrived last Monday and our stops were CBR, BW, BC and then YC.
