Can anyone remember what other resorts are on the ME bus route with Yacht Club? Is it BC and POR? My brother and his girlfriend just decided to tag along on our October trip (the same one my parents just decided to tag along on :grouphug:), and are staying at POR...even though he's 25, someone needs to make sure he makes it from point A to B!:rotfl2:
Thanks!!

I think on my two trips it was POR, then BW then YC/BC

Can anyone who has been more recently confirm or give the bus route you had?

I hear you on the heart skipping a beat. I walked up the driveway and DH asked if we won the lottery cause my smile was so big.

Do you know what time the Dis meet is on the 7th. It's DH's bday and we have an ADR bit hoping to be able to make the meet

I work until 6:30 so I'll be there shortly thereafter.

:welcome:

A room close to the lobby might be good. I think doing the advanced checkin is fine- should save you a little bit of time when you get there if they already have all of your info.

You certainly can ask for an adult portion of chicken nuggets. They will give you the kids meal without the pail, but there have been mixed experiences about whether you will be charged less, but I think you should be prepared to pay the full price for the kids meal, or more if you get an adult portion.

Thanks!
I think we will ask for 'close to the lobby'. I'm worried about our refillable mugs. Last year we were at the Poly it was only a short walk across the bridge to the QS. I understand it's not as easy at YC. But other things certainly make up for it. Can't wait!!!:goodvibes

I don't mind paying the full adult price at all. That's sounds totally fair, plus my DS14 won't be so embarrassed.

What time is your ADR?

We usually start meeting between 6 and 6:15 and then Teena pops over after her shift is over. Hope you can make it!!!!

How I wish I could be there! I just watched Erika's Illuminations video...it's made me even more excited for our October trip. So far it's looking like we will be at the Swan unless I get a pin code I can actually use!!

Yes, feeling better every day! Thanks! Even walked around house a bit without the :crutches: today, woohoo! I think the surgeon did an excellent job. He was worth the wait.

That's great to hear! Cheers to your ongoing recovery. :cheer2: :cheer2:

I'll miss you too! It seems like just yesterday we had our first Dis Meet. Wasn't that the year of the early morning fire alarm.

Luckily we got an AP rate - I can get the teacher discount rate at Swan and Dolphin so we might end up there one year.

We've stopped at CBR and POR, but I;m not sure if the ME always shares with the same resorts.

Does anyone know....

I am coming 1 day before DH. Can I exchange his AP voucher for a hard ticket before he gets there or does he have to do that? Just trying to save time:confused3

Have you tried Hollywood Studios? Word on the street says she is in that area.....

But, I don't think she is lonely. If you know what I mean.....

I forgot to apply my Frontline http://www.frontline.com/Pages/default.aspx this month so Chewy didn't want to linger when he hugged me..... What a wuss!

Hey Buzzy.....

Since she's a Ninja, she's probably in disguise, and somehow I don't think Teena will be lonely with no one to talk to.

I've got a great idea for you..... I'm offering to give you a one time good deal. I'll give you, the missus and all the kids a one week, all expenses paid vacation to Universal. I'll get you booked into Club Level at Portofino Bay, and I hear they serve some pretty tasty treats in their Club Level lounge.

Meet me at the rocking chairs by the rear entrance to the YC this coming Wednesday at 11:00am, and I'll give you everything you'll need. I'll have on tan shorts and a white polo shirt - you can't miss me. See ya then.

Never mind Buzzy! I'll take you up on THAT offer!!! It is a real offer... right??? I mean you wouldn't be trying to trick Buzzy would you?? Build up his hopes.... and then dash him, I mean them!

We are back in the room after a late day at DHS. We had a nice lunch at the Brown Derby. Our server was wonderful so I made it a point to hunt down the manager and let him know how much we enjoyed her efforts on our behalf.

After lunch it rained catz and dogz with a hundred percent chance of poodles. When facing weather like this the best bet is to bring flip flops in your backpack and swap them out with your sneakers when it starts to rain. Be sure to bring a plastic bag to put your sneakers in so they stay 100 percent dry in that back pack.

We had our panchos but our heinies got wet if we were wearing long shorts. When are those short shorts Magnum P.I. used to wear coming back in style?? Mickey T has a whole drawer full them and he is dying to make a retro fashion statement. Let's not crush the man's hopes by delaying the return of this fashion....classic?

Tomorrow we will try for Hollywood Studios again. Here's hoping the (weather) front is with us and it stays dry.

Congratulations on the 30 day mark! So sorry about everything your gramma, the move and the car.
I'm wishing some well deserved pixie dust your way! pixiedust:

Thanks BringingUp! She was 101 and was sharp as a tack until the end. I am emotionally and physically wore out. I need some supercharged pixiedust!

It'll be a while before our Mickey Mail gets here. :( To keep us happy until then, I was thinking of ordering a WDW parks DVD, but am wondering if it's been updated to reflect recent changes, i.e., New Fantasyland, the new Test Track, etc. Anyone know?

Yes, I believe that was the year! Even though at the time it was a little strange, it's one of our "unique" memories of all if our trips. Everyone was standing outside in the early morning in their pajamas!! Ssssoooooo many memories from the YC/BC.

Kerry: good to hear from you on this thread again.

NM- you crack me up!

Teena- they told me he had to appear in an area that "looked" like Tortuga or something similar in order to book him. I said, "what's better than a beach with a shipwreck?" Instead they wanted to do a ballroom with some props!!!!! I said, "no." I probably would have booked him for my son's graduation party if I could have done it out on the beach. My son graduated from East Carolina, home of the pirates and who better than the ultimate pirate, Captain Jack Sparrow!

I like your idea!

3 weeks from today!!!!

One more full week of work (and school) and then some serious Disssing!

Still a littler nervous about just using TIW (no DDP) although my head knows it's way better for us now that the kids are "Disney adults". I just have to keep DH from looking at the right side of the menu!

PittPathFan - hope you are having a magical time. What DTD hotel did you stay in? We always stay at Buena Vista Palace - was wondering how the others were.

Please let us know how you make out with TIW. Seriously considering that this year instead of DDP.

It's always been POR, BW,YC then BC for us. Once they threw in CB too.

I think you have to show photo ID, to prove it's your name on the voucher. In December, my husband had to be there with me.

Mickey mail came today:cheer2::cheer2: oh how I love Mickey mail:woohoo:
I am right behind you... 2 days behind in fact

See you there!

Our Mickey mail came last week - no matter how many times we go, my heart still skips a beat when I see that envelope in the mailbox.

My Mickey mail came yesterday! My husband came in waving the envelope and said I think you have been waiting for this!! How right he was!!:banana::banana:

Crawling out from under my lurker rock to ask an off topic question: We're driving down and I hate to waste any quality time at the YC so we were hoping to stay at some cheap and cheerful off-site hotel the day we arrive and then check into the YC at the crack of dawn and start our vacation. :cool1:
We'll probably do the same thing at the other end of our stay - get our final Grand Marnier and dessert delectable at the BW and then go off-site for a night and leave for home the next morning. Can anyone recommend a place that sleeps 5? Has anyone done this?
TIA

Woo hoo 2 months to go!!

This is our favorite way to arrive after a 6 hour drive from Macon. Time of arrival allows time to relax freshen up and dress for a long unhurried meal at a favorite full serve tv one of the resorts. California Grille is top pick but not this year. There is time to make some shopping stops along the monorail and enjoy the EWP or Wishes too from the resorts. Next AM we are on the road at sunrise to check in at our monorail resort (we do the online check in thing in person the night before). We self park, ditch the car in the resort parking lot and make it to the gate before the first ferry boat unloads to enjoy all those people in line in back of us. We exit the park after lunch to empty bags from the car to our room, grab a nap and return to the park for the night stuff. Never have been required to wait until 3PM for our room key. CR x2 and PR x2. We never expect to get the room key at 7AM so it becomes a magic moment each time it happened, but I've always felt showing up in person the night before had lots to do with it.

On the day of departure, we ring out as much as we can at WDW and plan on a 1600 to 2200 drive to Macon. Home is NW OHIO.

Oh I'll guess!!! Buzzy you are just a little too friendly on a hot sticky day like today! I see you outside the window and I am NOT letting you in that's for sure so you can stop knocking!!!

So we made it down yesterday, surprisingly with no problems despite the storm. We Landed at 4:45 nice and smooth with no turbulence. We checked in at POR and got all room requests, i.e. ground floor near pool. We are in Magnolia Terrace and the resort is just wonderful. Immediately after check in I grabbed one of the boys and hopped in a cab for a trip to Walmart (3250 vineland rd, Kissimmee).

It was about 20 dollars heading out with tip and the same back. Definitely use Mears cabs as the gypsy cabs will jack up the rates on you. I had the Mears number programmed in my phone and I called as soon as we were done paying for our items. The cab came to pick us up at Walmart in 10 minutes so I recommend this for people staying at the BC/YC/BCV

This Walmart was great! They had all the usual Walmart goods and a great Grocery and liquor selection. Mind you the liquor is not as extensive as a full fledged liquor store, but for the lushes on this list it will do nicely! ;)
The thing I liked about shopping at Walmart is that they don't jack up the prices like the closer supermarkets do, plus they had the other things that one forgets like sandals and the perennial missing bathing suit. I just loved hearing on the plane "Mom, you put that bathing suit that was in the laundry room in the carry on.... right???" Um no dear, you're just going to have to skinny dip for your pool time!! :sad2:

We got pool noodles, which I chased son #3 around the Walmart with and we beat each other senseless. Yes, we are "those" people in Walmart, you know the ones who play with the toys in the toy section and have sword fights with the nerf swords. That's what you get when you are the Mom of three boys...

Time was tight so we sent the rest of the family over to the Riverside Roost at POR at 7:30 to get a table for Yee Haa Bob while we were at the Walmart.

We made it back to POR in time, ordered appetizers for dinner and we really enjoyed Bob's show!! That man is EXHAUSTING!!! Love it!!! party: If you ever get the chance definitely check out his show. He was great with the kids for his early show. His later show is more geared toward adults.

We hit the hay and we were at Hollywood Studios at 7:30 for park opening. I got in line to see Chewie while the guys went on Star Tours. Then we posed with Chip and Dale and then we scored big time when we timed it perfectly and scored a picture of the FAB 4 in their Disney costumes (*Jedi Mickey, Leia Minnie, Storm Trooper Donald and Darth Goofy).

We then took the guys to the "Maul" so they could spend their $$ and headed back to the resort for a rest. We'll see if Buzzy leaves and then we'll be able to get back out to the parks for some more fun tonight.

At this time of year, with the heat and humidity, you definitely want to adopt that early morning park touring, mid day break, night time park touring plan.

For those coming down to Florida, the weather is now clear with the coastal breezes bringing on the traditional afternoon pop up thunderstorm. These thunderstorms are highly localized so you probably won't get hit with them. But IF you listen to the weather forecast, they always tell you the rain apocalypse is upon you. My best advice to you is to stop worrying about the weather and just know that you will still have a great trip, even if you find yourself "sharing" it with Buzzy the Fly!!

Sounds like great fun! We love Walmart battles ourselves.
