First, thanks so much to all of you posting live reports! So happy! Hope you all continue to enjoy your stays, and please know how much we appreciate hearing about BC/YC from those of you who are enjoying it right now!

Just booked our GCH reservation for DL today, so it feels more official. So funny to book the AP rate under my soon-to-be-Premier-Passholder husband's name. He's a Disney resister, so he skipped one of our visits last year and bought his AP in October instead of April like the rest of us. Since he's the only one with a valid AP during our DL visit this summer, we're upgrading him to Premier for the discounts!

Having a wonderful stay here at the Yacht Club. We are quickly becoming lovers of this resort. Cannot wait to stay at the Beach Club in December. My husband wants me to check out 2 bedroom suites for us and one of my children and their families.

Teena already addressed your question, but just wanted to mention how much we loved the 2-bedroom suite at BC when we stayed in one of them in 2011. Really an amazing room with a beautiful balcony and great space. It would be perfect for enjoying time with family! Not necessarily close to the lounge, but we didn't mind one little bit!

Does anyone know the location of the BC CL 1 bedroom suites and if they have full balconies?

Again, Teena addressed this question, but just wanted to add that my parents stayed in a ground floor 1-bedroom suite and it was really lovely. I've not yet stayed in a ground floor room, but they really enjoyed their patio.

Ground floor patio sounds like it could be really nice. Now I'm not sure if I should request full balcony or ground floor:confused3. Has anyone stayed in a ground floor 1 bedroom suite? Pictures would be appreciated.

Quick question! We are putting together a basket for the club level cast members. When would be the best time to give it to them? We were thinking maybe either during the middle if our stay or at the end. TIA

We gave our gift the first day, after we checked in and got settled. I wasn't sure either!!!!

We've stayed in 1501 and we also had a ground floor lagoon view room. They were actually very nice because you have some nice greenery, bushes plants, etc, and the lawn instead of just the small balcony. The only disadvantage would be a little less privacy, but the nice patio was worth it.

Greetings from the BC! :0)

Today was another hot/mildly humid sunny day! No rain still (wow that's some luck!!!). We enjoyed breakfast at Cindy's Table (and all were peculiarly hungry within an hour, even myself & DS which whom are bird eaters, hmmm). Mommy would have enjoyed the coveted empty Main St USA morning Photopass pictures, butttt....DH left our bag on the monorail in haste and spent 30 minutes (causing us to be 10 mins late) with security waiting for it to be located by the next stop, brought to the conductor and then returned to MK on the loop. (Sigh). Otherwise, we enjoyed minimal lines after breakfast and utilized FP to our advantage until the parks were too crowded to breath. Then we bailed and came "home". Something about hearing that automated male VoiceOver saying "Welcome Home" makes a day better!! Lol. Sandwiches from the Marketplace were fresh and delish as a quick bite. I have to say I am impressed with their overall selection of foods. I suppose it's catering to the Villas mostly, it's awesome nonetheless. And everyone is SO friendly. Really, I love the atmosphere. After a nap and freshening up we hit the road over to Epcot (YAY for the "secret entrance", We had used that more than the lobby doors!) for dinner at Coral Reef. Good food, better desserts, great view. MK was open late tonight, but by 10pm DS was full blown meltdown so I left with him back to BC while DH/DD braved the late night crowd. All and all a good time! Tomorrows agenda...a little guy turns SEVEN!

Thank you Teen! We'll be arriving at the Beach Club on 6/28 I'm hoping you'll be there so I could thank you in person for all the helpful information you share on this thread.

I'll be there on the 30th (Sunday).

Happy Birthday to your little guy! What a magical way to spend a birthday. :) We celebrated my DD's 7th birthday in Disney and it was her best birthday! Have fun!

Thanks for your quick reply! Think I might do the same so it's not taking up space in our room! Hope the rest of your trip is wonderful!

I'm thinking about switching to GF or FWL for our 4th of July trip. I figured we could watch MK fireworks from the beach. I know DD (18 mths) can't make it through the entire day in MK on the 4th. In the past, we couldn't get in if we arrived in the afternoon. My DH camped at Ft. Wilderness as a child and has a lot of great memories. I know this is something he wants to share with our daughter. GF just happens to be the only remaining monorail resort with a room available. DH never gets involved with the Disney planning and lets me do my own thing. But this makes it all the more challenging b/c I'd really like his opinion. We'll still be at BC in June for 5 nights and YC in January for 6 nights. Am I going to regret this decision? What's the boardwalk like for the 4th? I only know the experience for the monorail resorts for the 4th and I'm afraid I'm going to be sad I don't get to see MK fireworks. Thoughts on Epcot and/or HS for the 4th. Sorry for all the ramblings. Up late working on my paper and can't get to bed yet.

We saw the 4th July illuminations last year and they were absolutely stunning! I think they were shown at 10pm though rather than the usual 9pm show but they were like nothing I've ever seen before! In saying that I've never seen the 4th July fireworks in MK so I cant compare the two. Hopefully someone who has seen both will be able to help more :)
Hope you managed to get your paper sorted :goodvibes

My husband and I will be celebrating our 25th anniversary at the Yacht Club May 26-30, and then boarding the Disney Dream for a quick cruise. I can't believe I'm finally getting to stay at my dream resort, and club level no less! We have been to WDW several times, and so this trip is one where we will be spending the majority of our time at the resort enjoying the amenities rather than going full speed through the parks. I haven't wanted to post our plans for fear something would happen and we would have to cancel (silly, I know), but I think it's safe now, lol. Just wanted to share my excitement! :hyper:

:welcome: and Congratulations!!!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest List on Page 1 of this thread.

I hope you have a magical trip!

:cool1:

Thank you. That is the kind of info. I need. Yes, you can add us. We'll be at the BCVs from May 29th-June 8th. It will be our 20th anniversary while we are there, too. :-)

Yippee!!! Boy do I need a vaca!!

I'll add your dates, and Congratulations to you, too!

:woohoo:

I have pictures from a 1 BR Suite on the Deluxe thread. I'll post the link here in a minute.

Link to the thread:

Beach Club Deluxe, Suites, VP and Presidential Rooms

Room 1647, BC 1 BR Suite

I believe this room is located in the hallway in between the BC Marketplace and Secret Exit to EPCOT- great location!

I'll be there on the 30th (Sunday).

Unless you are the lucky lady in Florida who won Powerball last night!

IMHO, it would be really nice to see the MK fireworks on July 4th from your resort, and since you have other trips to the Yacht & Beach, I can definitely see why you are considering a switch!

What will you be doing during the day? Skipping the parks and enjoying the resort? Are there some fun activities at GF or Wilderness Lodge during the day?

Let us know what you decide.

OMG I'M FINALLY CAUGHT UP!!!! :woohoo:

Things are a little crazy over here. Between going through my list of everything we need for the trip, work, kids, family....my head is spinning. Next weekend my DD16s bday and we have family coming over, the following weekend is my nieces graduation party, then WDW, and back for my DS13s graduation party.

I think I am insane for having a graduation party the weekend after we return, but nothing else works out.

So back to WDW- I am packing a power strip after a tip of the limited outlets in the room and with all of the cell phones, handheld video games, etc. I loved this idea.

Any other items that would come in useful specific to the rooms at BC?

Well I guess that makes sense as to why I didn't get the reservation- sheesh. :) I did mean breakfast, and I have no idea why it didn't occur to me that they don't have breakfast.

They used to have breakfast there several years ago. It was my family's favorite breakfast in Epcot. We were really sad when they discontinued it. That's probably what you were thinking about. :)

I don't recommend asking for a specific room. I would add the request "full balcony near Epcot" to your reservation. Do not do an on-line check-in and when you get to the desk, ask immediately if you have a full balcony. If they say no, tell them you really want one and if one is not available today, then you would like a room change tomorrow to a room with a full balcony. If they say you have a full balcony, ask if it is closer to Epcot than the lobby. If yes, congrats. If not, I'd just go with a full balcony no matter where it is ... JMO. Getting two requests met during a busy time of the year is a long shot.

Just wondering if you would recommend online check-in for us? We are staying at Yacht Club August 20-28, 8 guests, 2 adults and 6 children (Sweet 16 trip for our daughter and a few friends). We have one reservation number for 2 rooms standard view, our most important request of course is connecting rooms. The second request is for at least one day bed. Do you think we are safe doing online check-in, or should we wait until we get there to check-in?
Thank you for any insight you can share,
Donna

:welcome: Donna!!!

I'll add your group to the Be Our Guest list.

With your requests, I would definitely recommend waiting until you get to the resort to check in. Although preregistering your information (credit cards, etc.) would save you a little time, usually when you do the online checkin the keys to your rooms are already cut when you arrive.

I think it makes more sense to wait until you get to the resort, and discuss the room choices with the CM who is checking you in. There may be options you need to decide about (for example, two connecting rooms, no daybed but rollaway available vs. two rooms close to one another, with daybeds)

From what I have read, checking in advance online does not increase your chances of getting what you requested.

Make sure your requests are listed on your reservation, though (through Disney's CRO). You should add any requests as soon as you make your reservation and I recommend calling about 10 days to 1 week out to make sure the requests are listed correctly.

Hope that helps!
