For all the thread police. This IS off topic....

Hey to all my Y&BC friends. We are grabbing some wi-fi at McDonalds in Vancouver. Great California portion of our cruise done and reboarding later today for Alaska.

Just wanted to check that everyone was ok and give another Bon voyage!

Just a heads-up....

Just returned from WDW. Yesterday afternoon at the BC, while walking up the sidewalk along side the woods view rooms (closest to Epcot) we saw a big old (long!) snake cross the sidewalk. It went into the shrubs right outside a 1st floor sliding glass door!

This is such a trivial question but I'm going to ask anyway. In the rooms at BC, are the toiletries still from the aquatics line of H2O+ or have they all been changed over to the new fragrance? I was shopping at Carson's here in Chicago and they sell the Aquatics shampoo and conditioner and shower gel! I am a very happy camper. :) Also, Rainkissed Leaves should be at Bath and Body Works soon for their semi-annual sale! That scent totally reminds me of the BC lobby.

Hopefully, it found another home!

Now that I've found the latest thread...

My sister and I just changed our reservations from POR in Oct to BC CL. SO EXCITED TO BE BACK!! Decided it was the place to be for our annual Food and Wine trip. Hope the boys make it to the right resort. Giggle!!

Caseystigger & Aidanself Oct 19-25th ADD US PLEASE!!

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

:cool1:

Yup, definitely the place to be for F&W!!!

We are headed to the world on Saturday. We will be at AOA until Tuesday then to Beach Club on club level! So excited to get there and hopefully the snake has been caught by now. Maybe my room will be up too high for the snake:).

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list

:woohoo:

Yes, I think you are all set. The snakes prefer the lower floors since they don't have any hands to use to press the elevator buttons.

My DDs like Jake as well although my oldest, almost 7, does not like the toys as she says they are for boys but she watches the show. I can now say I will be at Beach Club next week! Due to finances we changes our reservations to 4 days BC CL (June 9-13) and 3 days POR. The girls will like to stay in Tiana's room. We wanted to stay at BC all week but there were no rooms left to downgrade so this is our compromise. I think we save $900 by switching!

We will still have access to the CL lounge the day we check out right? I was planning to stop there mid afternoon after HS and before we go to the other resort.

Sounds like fun! And as others have said, you are a guest of the resort until midnight on your checkout day (like Cinderella),

:goodvibes

And...

By the way, just for general information........on one trip we were not leaving by DME until late in the evening and were planning on using the CL lounge as a resting place and for snacks after we checked out that day. When we returned from the parks that afternoon our room keys would no longer work in the elevator to get to the 5th floor. If this happens, simply go to the front desk and they will give you keys that will give you access.

Thanks so much for sharing that story. Someone in that situation might think they no longer allowed entrance into the lounge after checkout, so your info helps explain what to do!

:thumbsup2

I have kids and didn't know either :) Mine are past Disney Jr though...they're into Disney XD- Kickin' It, Pair of Kings...Our niece loves Doc McStuffins though, so that's the one DisneyJr character I know :)

They grow up so fast :( Seems like just yesterday we were having fun at Playhouse Disney Live!

Bear in the Big Blue House, anyone???

:dogdance:

(yes, I know that's not a bear)

Since I can only get a standard view with 5 people in my room at club level at the Yacht Club, any suggestions for a room request? I’d love to get a view of water but unfortunately it looks like all of these views have a max of 4 people in the room.

Thanks!

Is there a certain location you would like? Close to lounge/elevators? Away from elevators? As far as a view, I know some of the YC CL SV have a view of the distant MK fireworks. We had that one year in a BC room, facing the front entrance parking lot.

:)

As far as I know, they are all the grapefruit scented toiletries now. Has anyone received the H20 stuff any time recently?

:listen:

Checked into BC this morning at about 8:45. We were checked in within 15 minutes of parking. Very easy.

We are in a garden view room overlooking the beach volleyball and actually have a great view of the water from the small balcony on the third floor.

We were I'm Epcot by about 9:15. It was packed today but we did manage to do Soarin ((FP), Spaceship Earth, Mission Space, Mexico and Norway before 1:45, which included lunch in Sunshine Seasons. We'll hit the rest of the rides early tomorrow morning.

Now relaxing at Storming before heading back to Epcot for dinner. Lots of chair saving going on today, but I have seen cast members walking around removing towels on chairs that look unoccupied.

Thanks for your reports about your trip so far. Great view! I love the way you composed the picture!

:)

Just finishing up our 1st full day here at Disney! Spent the day at the very busy Hollywood Studios. Arrived yesterday after a very long 20 hour drive from Kansas, but boy was it worth it! What a beautiful resort! We are already in love. Our room is gorgeous with a wonderful view of the boardwalk. We are club level newbies, but have already decided it is totally worth it! Can't thank all of you enough for all the fabulous info you provide. Hope to meet Teena tomorrow! :)

Thanks for your live report! Glad you are enjoying the resort.

Hi everyone! I've been keeping up with things here, but haven't posted in quite a while. My trip is fast approaching (July 14), and this week my CM friend added the discounted dining plan for us! Apparently, CM services could only add the DDP to a Water View room, so we ended up with an upgrade and still came out ahead money-wise. So I am this guy ------>

Now I have to decide what type of room request to make. I've perused the room view photos and discussions, but still can't make up my mind. Silly, since we all know that there's no guarantee that I'll even get what I request.

Hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend! :)

Welcome to Canada! Love the Vancouver area around the cruise docks - hopefully you had some time to enjoy the city.

You know you are without children/grands when.... you have to ask who Jake the Pirate is?!?

I could have googled... but I thought posting here would be way more interesting.

~Nannette

Ok took to long for a response....I googled!

Glad you asked - I have never heard of Jake the Pirate either.

Day 2 of our BC stay has been a good one. We were up early this morning and at the Epcot IG at 8:25. The gates promptly opened at 8:45, and we hustled over to Test Track.

We got FP with a return time of 9:30, and then immediately rode it with a 5 minute wait. By the time we got off, the line to get FPs was all the way back to Inoventions.

We thought we might be able to get over to Soarin to ride standby, but a check of the app and the big board already showed a 60 minute wait. Decided to skip since we already rode yesterday. So we hoped Mission Space with a 5 minute wait instead.

After this the kids wanted to meet characters so we waiting for 30 minutes at the Character Spot. Then we did some shopping. My DD really wants the Pluto Mickey eats hat, but they are were apparently
all out at Epcot. A very helpful CM called around everywhere looking for one and told us right where to find one when we go to MK tomorrow.

Lunch was at the Tangierine Cafe in Morocco. Very much recommend this as the portions are large and the food good.

We then headed back for a afternoon at the pool. Once again there was a lot of chair saving going on. However people were not afraid to move towels if there were no personal items in sight. They would even ask those sitting around to be sure no one had been seen using those chairs. One time I did see a CM walk around and remove towels as well. All in all a fun afternoon at the pool where the kids bragged they had gone down the slide some 34 times.

Tomorrow we had off to MK bright and early for a full day.

Thanks for the heads up with FP & wait times for TT & Soarin. Makes me rethink a little- with TT not being opened last year & everyone wanting to ride this year to see whats new. We're not an early bird family- usually do EMH at night since both my husband & 11 yr old son wake up at the crack of noon. Lol. We may have to have an "early day" planned after all.

I just booked a trip for my parents in October! They will be traveling with my DH and I, but staying at BC (we'll be at YC). I'd like to put in a room request for them to be near the "secret entrance." What would be the best way to put this?
Thanks so much!

We are a Poly family but this year we decided to try the BC. Have been reading trip-advisor and I have a few questions. We are huge Disney fans so I can't imagine any of this is true but if anyone has any information that would be greatly appreciated.

1. Have read several reviews re: the need for renovations, musty smell in the rooms. Soggy carpeting. Saggy mattresses. Has anyone experienced this?

2. Have read quite a few reviews that mentioned a bee problem at SAB. Just curious if this is true because my oldest is allergic to bees.

3. Most important question. Best centrally located room area to request? My youngest is recovering from ankle surgery and wont be fully recovered for our trip. Have rented a wheelchair but since I am not familiar with the resort I am really not sure where to request a room. We will definitely be visiting Epcot more than DHS. Just want to try to minimize the walking. (I know that's crazy to try and do while in Disney!). Any suggestions?

4. Been reading some posts that mention a "secret" exit near the quiet pool that saves some walking. Can anyone tell me what to look for?

Thank you for any information you can provide! I am sure we will love BC. Disney has never let us down! Just concerned about some of those reviews I read. Thanks again! Have a magical night! :)
