The other suggestion to boat from DTD to PO, then bus to HS, then boat to BC, would you need park hoppers at HS to catch the boat to BC?

We don't have park hoppers and I'm trying to find the easiest way to get back to the BC from DTD. Thanks!

You don't need park hoppers if you take the bus to HS and then the boat to BC. The boat is outside of the main gates.

But I would just take the bus. :)

In my opinion I think those options would take way, way more time. Plus I don't think that boat to POR/POFQ runs at night. I'm not sure what time you are planning to leave there. But I would just get on the BC bus. You can catch it at the Marketplace or over by Planet Hollywood. Sit down and relax and play Angry Birds or something. ;) Much better than trying to hop on all those forms of transportation. I really never noticed the bus ride being that big of a deal. :confused3

I'm excited to take the boat from DTD to POR!! I am planning for us to do a counter service there for the create your own pasta (DS 10) is excited about that and I want some beignets from POQF!!! Plus, I can check out POR!!!

Definitely a lovely ride :) And it sounds like you are going earlier in the day before the boat shuts down, so you should be good. :thumbsup2

But I still wouldn't recommend it as a fast way to get back to BC.

I was thinking the same thing. Even if you have to wait awhile for a bus at DTD it seems like it would take forever to go to POR then Epcot or HS and then the BC.

Hi everyone!
Been lurking around the last few days since it looks like we will be able to end our annual bday trip with 4 nights at either YC or BC! :cool1: Sadly no CL this time, but I am so excited to have some quality SAB time!! So c'mon and release those AP rates sooner rather than later! pixiedust:

I just wanted to chime in on the taxi thing since we used cabs exclusively last summer to get to and from DTD from the YC. We found it more valuable to take them there (between $12-$15 each way, depending on if we got stuck at the traffic lights). But we preferred to take the bus back. There are cabs around (near Planet Hollywood IIRC) but we never seemed to wait that long for a bus, and YC was third stop. I guess we were never in that big of a hurry to get back to the resort. But going there in a taxi was a great time saver.

HTH someone! :goodvibes

We did this before park opening for a class. I believe we met at 7:45 at the flagpole at the front entrance of Epcot. We've never done the Backstage Magic tour....only the Segway tour and KTTK. I would LOVE to do the Backstage Magic tour someday! KTTK was incredible....I highly recommend it!

Have fun!

Have done Back Stage Magic twice it was incredible especally the utilidors we met at the flagpole also , be sure to ask about any discounts there are so many options . I hope you get a chance soon enjoy :thumbsup2

Just wanted to pop in to bid farewell. We were supposed to be staying at the BC next week, but the resort is overbooked, and I got a call about being moved today. We were given the choice of Poly standard room or WL deluxe suite. That was a no-brainer, as we will have more space and CL access(!!!) at WL. We also love that resort and really feel at home there. I can't say I'm not a little disappointed as I've had my heart set on BC, but the resort will always be there, and now I get a free chance to experience club level :). I hope all who have an upcoming trip have a wonderful time! Many thanks to Dee and all of the fabulous people who contribute to this board. I'm now off to research WL CL!

Playing catch up here.... I've got my heart set on BC, but an upgrade like that would be awesome:) Have a great time! I'm surprised that they can overbook, too. Blame it on those computers, I guess!

Just chiming in a bit on the whole DTD bus situation, especially since I am one of people who seeks an alternate route.

A question about getting back to Beach Club from DTD. If you boat to POFQ from DTD, then bus to Epcot, is the bus stop at the front entrance of Epcot? So would this require park hopper tickets to walk through Epcot to get to the Beach Club?

The other suggestion to boat from DTD to PO, then bus to HS, then boat to BC, would you need park hoppers at HS to catch the boat to BC?

We don't have park hoppers and I'm trying to find the easiest way to get back to the BC from DTD. Thanks!

As others have said, you would need a PH if you went to EPCOT, but you would not need one for HS since the boat is outside of the gates. Honestly, I doubt I would do the whole DTD-resort-Bus-EP-BC if I was not walking through EPCOT. That is part of the charm for us. We usually enjoy some attractions along the way.

The bus would definitely be quicker and a cab better still.

See, that is the part I have not experienced! The couple of times I have taken the DTD bus to a resort, it has been standing room only, and my fellow passengers were drunk and obnoxious. Didn't enjoy!

I will definitely concede that the bus is the FASTEST way (other than taxi) to get from DTD to BC/YC.

Agreed. Without park hoppers, I would take the bus.

That's a fantastic idea to help break up the return trip!

I have always said that the "alternate route" is not quicker, just more enjoyable for our family

Oh, yeah- the other thing you have to be careful about is that EPCOT needs to be open- you wouldn't be able to do this after 9 PM on a regular night, both due to the DTD buses shutting down (don't know when that happens) and not being admitted to EPCOT if you arrive after 9 PM. We are always much earlier than this.

I will be the only female in my group too! ;) DH and 2 DSs 13 and 11. We can sneak off and drink Sunken Treasures at the pool!! LOL :rotfl:

Yes! I've been thinking about trying a Sunken Treasure since reading about it here! Lets compare pool schedules closer to May, as I have changed mine about 75 times and I'm sure I'm not done yet!

Called back today and got BWI CL. It's what i originally wanted with my BB rate but wasn't available.

Thanks for the help with YC ! I know my girls have it on their list for family vacation.

Finally caught up after being MIA for a week.

Dee - you can add our dates to the list. I'm listed, just no dates. April 3 to 10. BC CL

The count down is on here!!:cool1:

We are scheduled for the Backstage Magic tour in May. It is an expensive tour, but sounds great. Does the tour go to Animal Kingdom? Since you have done it twice you obviously had a good time. I would love to hear more about your experience. This is our first trip to WDW.

We are excited to be staying at BC for Spring Break in 21 days! Tried 3 years ago but SAB was being renovated so chose Boardwalk Inn instead. Just love being so close to Epcot & Hollywood Studios.

Please add us to Guest List:
3/22 - 3/28 BC CL Deluxe

Another first, going to the Dark Side for remainder of the weekend.

Thanks to everyone participating in the info, this thread has been very helpful!

Will this work even if we are to meet at guest relations BEFORE the actual opening of the park? (We are to meet by 8:45 and Epcot opens at 9). Did you do the Backstage Magic tour? Did you enjoy it?

Thanks for the information.

Jan

Did this tour and loved it! I don't remember going to Animal Kingdom. You learn so much... we went to the laundry facility, Hollywood Studios, we were where they grow the topiaries, the tunnels... we might have gone to a part of Animal Kingdom, but i've done all the AK tours as well so they become all connected!! You will enjoy it for sure... Lunch was at Whispering Canyon which was fun and good as well! Have a good time!!

But I still wouldn't recommend it as a fast way to get back to BC.

I just spent a few days at SSR and the boats were running at 11pm... I was surprised because I didn't think they ran past 10. My room overlooked the water so I saw them running.

Here are 2 crowd calendar websites:

I am a crazy planner and bought the "Unofficial guide to Disneyworld". They have the touringplans.com website. They have a great app for crowd levels and wait times in real time, restaurant menus- it's awesome!

I know that undercover tourist website has one too.

The boats from DTD stop running around 11 pm IIRC, its definitely later into the evening. And getting the bus to DHS is a good idea to avoid the park hopping dilemma.

As I mentioned previously, each month, when I share the activities schedule, I will be posting a message about how proud I am of the positive, friendly and helpful vibe on this thread along with an appeal to everyone here to keep it that way. Fortunately, we have had very few instances of rude or insulting comments and that is one of the reasons this is such a special place. The volunteer moderators on the DIS are here to help keep us on track, so if you see any objectionable comments, please report them.

As always, we appreciate any information and comments about the Yacht Club, Beach Club and Beach Club Villas, good and bad. We know everything is not always butterflies and rainbows, so if you have something negative to comment about, that is fine, as long as it is done in a civil manner.

Thanks for your cooperation, everyone!

We had to change our dates from June to July 13-20 at the BC garden view if you want to update us on the BOG list. Our son is starting college in the fall and, wouldn't you know, his registration fell right in our June trip dates. That's ok, now we can vacation knowing he is all set to go.:)

I'll make the adjustment.

:goodvibes

I am not sure where there is a closer Sweet Tomatoes, but the one I've been to is near Universal, and no way could you walk to it from DTD. Love that place. DN is a vegan, and only place we can all eat (well, for me, I call it rabbit food), but really , we all like the salads and the kids love frozen yogurt machine.

:wave2:

I don't think we have seen you for awhile. Do you have an upcoming trip planned, or are you just hanging out with us cool kids?

Us too!! We arrive on the 9th! So excited to be going. We've stayed at BCV twice, but decided to make our way across the hall this time!

Official :welcome:

I'll add you to the list.

:cool1:

Hello all! After many schedule changes , it looks like we will be at YC May 29-June 1! We will then go to BWI 6/1-6/3 (YC discount not available whole stay. Do you know if we will be able to go to SAB on 6/1, and if so, what do you need to show to get in? TIA!

I'll make the changes to your listing.

:woohoo:

As TigrLuvPooh mentioned, yes, you can use SAB on your checkout day. Just show your room key.

We booked our trip YC CL Oct 5 - 12! Can't wait!!

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

:yay:

We don't have park hoppers and I'm trying to find the easiest way to get back to the BC from DTD. Thanks!

:welcome: to this thread and to the DIS!

I don't think I have you on the Be Our Guest list on Page 1. Would you like to be added?

Sounds like an awesome trip you have planned.

Speaking of the "Park Which Must Not Be Named"- I visited for the first time in 2011 and I have a lot of tips and info in my "Welcome Foolish Muggles" trip report. I have chapter links in the beginning if you want to read specific parts only. Click on the link in my signature.

So we had BWI SV booked for our anniversary April 21-26.

We got terrific flights today and are now going 4/22-4/26 but still have the same amount of time at parkis due to early/late flights.

So with the savings on 4 nights opposed to 5 i wanted to upgrade to BWI CL well it wasn't available with my BB rate so i took YC SV and requested a balcony!

Please Please tell me about CL at the YC!

Also, this is our 1st experience with ME, if we land at 9:55Am what time would you say we would get to resort?

thanks

You are leaving before I even had a chance to formally welcome you and add you to the list. Have a fantastic stay. I hear really great things about BWI CL.

Hope to see you back here in the future.

We'll leave a light on for you. Wait. Wrong place.

:goodvibes

Will we definitely be on the 5th floor with the lounge with a CL SV room?

Any thoughts on this category?

Are these views bad?

Do they all have balconies?

thanks

Just answering these questions, although I have not stayed YC CL.

First step is to check out the Club Level post on Page 1 of this thread.

I believe all YC CL SV rooms have a full balcony. There is one room, WV I believe that has a smaller balcony.

Can't answer about the view. Trying to collect view pictures on a separate thread.

Well said Dee! Even though I lurk more than I comment, I do love reading this thread and everyone is great!

Iam returning to my happy place in April but unfortunately not at the BC. It may be a really LONG time before I return there- if you know what I mean ;). But it's all worth it.

Just stopping by, in the hopes that we'll be returning to the Beach Club in August 2014. (Yeah, you read that right... 2014. Bummer. But this summer we're redoing our 50 year old kitchen, so no Disney for us.)

We LOVED the Beach Club last August!! And the CMs went way above and beyond when my husband had a medical emergency that landed him in the hospital. I'm really, REALLY hoping we find a way to return there next year.

In the meantime, I'll stop by now and then and vacation vicariously through you guys.
