Tomorrow....tomorrow...tomorrow...

We leave tomorrow!

Thanks so much to everyone for all your help, tips, advice. Thanks to you we feel totally prepared to have a great vacation! :worship:

See you Sunday and/or Monday.

What a great day....today's my birthday and we are leaving in 10 days. Teena did I read that your off on a cruise....we are there from 4/21 - 4/27.

happy belated birthday!! :dance3:

Can not wait to go to Disney World this year. My daughter has had a very rough year (she is 11). Her ankle started hurting in the summer (former gymnast and started doing all star cheer after she quit gymnastics). Her ankle was hurting off and on and by the end of September it was hurting almost every day.

I'm so sorry that she has had to go through all the pain and treatment.

Anyway, can't wait to get there and see Teena and the bell staff. Love those guys such a helpful wonderful group.

We just can NOT wait. 35 days but whose counting????

You deserve a great trip!!! :thumbsup2

My DH, 5 month old DS and I plan to stay at the Yacht Cub mid-November. The hotel res has been made, we just need to see how flight prices shake out before we decide on the exact dates. But I am super excited! We know to take it easy and just enjoy our trip... We are Disney experienced, but never with a little baby, or even really young kids.... Any advice will be appreciated.

We took our ds at 8 months and it was the best trip we ever took!I was afraid of what it was going to be like and packing was not easy but the trip itself was so fun we actually extended it while there 3 days.We stayed at the Poly though so we had the monorail to get to MK and Epcot which probably made it alittle easier. We rented a crib and I brought string and a plastic table cloth that I cloth pinned up across the back of the room to separate him from seeing us at night or he never would have slept! He slept in the stroller during the day when he was tired and we were able to bring the stroller in restaurants when he was sleeping too.My dd was 9 at the time so my dh and her went on rides while I stayed with him because I don't do the rides that much.He got his first haircut while there(which he hated!)but loved watching everything and everyone. He loved the pool too.We played it by ear for how long we stayed at a park depending on how hot or tired any of us were not just ds but we always do that.We go every year since dd was 3 so it wasn't like we needed to hit everything that trip.We also used garden grocer for extra diapers and wipes and food so I didn't have to pack them.Have a great trip honestly ds was easier that trip than my dd who asks for everything and pouts when she didn't get her way:rotfl2:

Keep looking. If it's with Southwest, you can get the difference in the form of a credit if the price goes down. No fees either. I just booked four flights yesterday and used credits from past flights where prices had gone down after I booked them. Those credits helped bunches.

Thanks! We always fly JetBlue and I think they do the same thing, issue a credit if the flight goes down. As of today our same exact flights are $300 more so it looks like I pulled the trigger and exactly the right time!!

That's such a good feeling!!

I purchased our flight tickets months before I even had our resort booked!! When I saw the great price, I knew they would only go up!!

Our son was about 15 months on our last trip, we stayed at POR. We did quite well to be honest and i was totally shocked. He shared a bed with his sister who was 4 1/2 so we didn't use the pack and play. the biggest pain was the stroller on the bus, folding it up, taking him out. we brought an umbrella stroller for my daughter (just in case).

The parks he did great, there is so much for them to look at as you are walking threw the parks. he sat on my lap on most of the rides or right next to me. We still laugh because he slept threw the pirates of the caribbean ride on my shoulder. We did it all haunted mansion, Pirates, small world. the rides that he was too little for my husband would take our daughter on (i like my feet firmly planted on the ground-thank you) I took him on dumbo or the flying dino's at AKP. he never caught on at all!

ADR's he did great....wasn't too sure about the characters but as long as they stayed far enough a way he was fine.

By the time we got back to the room he was soooo tired they both knocked out and slept the best they ever had!

As for the plane ride he napped after we boarded the first time. and the way home I carried him on sleeping and carried him off sleeping we woke up in the terminal lol!!!! He never even saw the plane.

now I probably just jinked our next trip lol:laughing:

When I made my room reservation for BC I requested Full Balcony. I've seen posts suggesting to check with the BC before your trip to confirm the request is noted on the reservation. Can you email the BC or is it better to phone? Could someone provide the email and/or phone number I should use? I've seen references to "email IPO" - what is IPO? I am not staying club level but would like to confirm my full balcony request. We leave Sunday, April 21!Thanks.

I booked my trip before my flight too, i wanted to take advantage of the last day of the spring deal. I just booked the flight for my aunt & myself Wednesday. Ours is a direct flight from Detroit & hers is $304 & mine was only $25:banana::banana:!!!!!! I have never used the points on my visa card & I had more than enough points for my flight with just a $25 fee. I will also need to pay for 1 suitcase so another $25 each way (I think 1 bag should be free, grrrr), but I'm so excited about my deal! My aunts portion of her trip was mainly paid from her employer as she had a $500 bonus from a years of service award & $100 Christmas gift. So her only out of pocket was the flight & a $100, whereas I paid for everything out of pock for my half except flight.:)

IPO is for club level guests. I think around 4 or 5 days out you can fax room assignors about your request.

Teena will know for sure. I know some resorts still look at faxed requests, and some don't.

I'm wondering the same thing....
thanks!

You can fax it 5 days before but I wouldn't. The room assignor really just looks at the reservation comments. They don't have time to do the reservation comments plus go through a pile of faxes every day ... no rooms would ever get assigned.

Best way to get your full balcony:
(1) Make sure "full balcony requested" is on your reservation (call reservations and confirm about two weeks before your arrival date) and not a lot of other requests too.
(2) Do a regular check-in and when you get to the desk, tell the CM immediately that all you care about is a full balcony and that you don't care about getting in a room early or anything else. Tell them if one is not available today, then you would like to get one tomorrow --(if that's the case).

We just called today and put in a request for a full balcony. We check in tomorrow. Will they already have our reservation that didn't have the request? Basically when do they look at the reservations? I keep reading request days to weeks before your check in date. We messed that up. I'll use teena's advice and make my request tmrw at check in.

When can I expect to receive in the mail our luggage tags, etc? We are scheduled to arrive on 5/17. I have received periodic emails from Disney with general park information, but nothing really specific to us. I made all of my own ADR's so didn't use the IPO. I did contact them (IPO) once, but other than that I have had no communication from them. Is there anything I should have received from them? Our flight arrives on the 17th @ 4:30pm and them we are scheduled to use ME for transport to BC. I have requested a full size balcony, but since we are arriving later in the afternoon does that mean we have less of a chance of getting what we requested? We have reserved a GV (CL) room. Thanks for the information.

At the Y&B, room assignors start looking about 3 days out. Sometimes, for a number of reasons, they may start assigning rooms before that, sometimes the day of. Depends on a number of things. Best bet is to do what I said earlier at check-in!

There are only 9 of these rooms and I think they all have full balconies.

Still way behind! I have mostly lurked for the past few days and I have 20 pages I need to catch up on. YIKES!!!

Although most of the performances for Pom Pom Zombies were last weekend, the kids did one more show for the middle school student body today and I finally got a picture of Ben as Skipper, the long lost captain who has been missing for 30 years.

And to make this post relevant to this thread, I have also included a photo of Flat Ben (and StephH's sons) being named Captains of the Day at the Yacht Club- obviously taken before Flat Ben/Skipper was marooned.

Being in Ithaca the small regional airports are convenient as far as location but extremely limited when it comes to choice.

Since Ithaca is on the list of "you don't really need air traffic controllers anymore" airports, I'd stick with Syracuse.

Are you saying not to do online check in?
