We are down to 3 weeks before our trip. I have been watching the Christmas parade on You Tube with my grandson the past 9 days while we are visiting. Home to TN tomorrow and have to start my preparations for our trip. Cannot wait to have my entire family together!

Thank you, Wood Nymph! I think the rooms being that much nicer at BC will make all the difference with 3-4 adults. It would be a different story if we were considering a 1-bedroom instead of a studio at the BCV, but with a studio and only for 3 nights, I don't know that I'd really save much money with a kitchenette, especially since the BC rooms have fridges, and we'll be enjoying the F&WF a lot!

I completely agree with this. And wanted to let you know you can request a microwave for your BC room when you arrive. We did this once. I did have to call back and request again as they forgot but we did receive it.

Hi Dee,
Well, you can add us to the BOG list. We are 23 to 31 August, 2014. Yacht Club. Kids thought BC looked too bright! Guess staying at the Grand Californian this summer got them liking a more mature looking hotel.

We are also doing USO a few days before that, so off to book the Portofino. That's also my kids preference. I like it too. Hoping they still offer the AP discount, but at least I will book a SMSM rate for now.

Have a great time at DLR. We've been twice, and I think that's enough for now. We also did USH this summer, and my kids liked that alot too.

Is there any more recent information available for the BC refurbishment that is being rumored for next year? I have a reservation in February and was considering upgrading to CL since I will have 3 teenagers and an 9 yo with me - it would be very nice if they could go to the lounge at their whim and I didn't have to think about where breakfast would be every day - but after just finding out today about the refurb I'm rethinking the reservation.

Just wanted to stop by and say hello - or maybe that should be ahoy, given that I'm staying at Yacht Club in May.

It's my first time staying at a deluxe resort (previously been very happy at Port Orleans Riverside and Port Orleans but decided to splurge this time after a run in with a very enthusiastic tour group of teenagers during my last stay ). I booked it through a non-Disney website, which I won't mention - got a very good price but the downside is I think I'll miss out on all the MB excitement until I get there. Hey ho. There's always a trade-off.

I'm still ploughing my way through the pages of this thread and am picking up lots of good tips so thank you to all. I'm a solo Disney traveller so if anyone has anything solo specific they want to share that would be uber cool.

Whew! It's been so busy for 'ol Ninja Mom. She reads this thread just about every day but she can't seem to find the time to post.... until today.

I have big news... against DH wishes I went ahead and booked that deal for August 17-23 at THE BEACH CLUB! It was Magical!

A room only booking saved us 45% they also can save you about 10% off on tickets but we haven't decided how many days we are going to be where, like Universal or perhaps Cape Canaveral where DH will attempt to send me into orbit if I go to WDW one more time.

DH NEVER wants to go ANYWHERE so his reluctance, strike that ~refusal~ was no big deal. We do however have to go on Vacations and I prefer to Travel when we do, so tough nouggies on DH!

I figure if I pay $110 bucks a month the room will be paid for by the time August rolls around. I tried telling DH to think of it so much as we wouldn't be at WDW so much as we would be in a really Great, One of a kind hotel in Orlando and we can Do other stuff like Potted Harry and explore Orlando as a city. I also promised him if he Didn't whine too Exuberantly I would take him Alligator wrestling after I increased his Life insurance policy.

You can calculate how much you would be saving by checking out the room rates at that site where they have all the ears. Our dates fell so that at full price we would have been paying Sun=$375 Mon-Thurs = $350 and then that last Friday night it was $375 ($2150 Full 'wrack' rate). We got the deal at $1188.00. Note this is room only. Be sure to shop around AND drink your Ovaltine. That decoder ring may come in handy when reading posts.

I am booked at YC Lagoon View for March and am considering switching to BC. Is it worth it to pay extra for LV at BC even though we may not get a full balcony? Or should we pay $55 less per night for a Garden View room?
