Thanks for the reply.

Had a Raglan Road reservation, but the Florida heat has really drained us today. We rescheduled Raglan for later.

Just checking in! :wave2:

It's been a very long time since I've stopped by. Crazy busy and so needing a vacation - luckily, we'll be at the BC in just 26 days!! :)

I have to say, though, that I've been a little nervous about the CL part of our stay. I posted on the CL board that I got a strange message welcoming me to BC CL, and asking me to send any requests. But I'd already sent all of them months ago and even had a few conversations over the phone. I did get a note back with an apology, telling me that everything was now set, but it made me doubt our decision to pay the extra money for CL. Thinking I may call just to be sure that everything is really in place.

Hi Laura! Great to "see" you here again! This happens to us with CL at several WDW resorts - we send in our info and then we receive a "welcome to [insert resort] CL" e-mail later. It's always OK - I previously wondered whether the "welcome" messages are auto-generated. Then I contacted an IPO to ask, and that's what they told me. I just continue to communicate with them directly via e-mail and (on occasion) calls, and it's all fine. Doesn't hurt to send a quick e-mail to make sure they have everything in order.

Laura, MickeyT, Amanda and fellow runDisney enthusiasts: Quick OT question. Last month, DL 10K was fun but super crowded - finished in 1:03. Submitted time to runDisney for 2014 PHM. Today, finished a USTAF-certified uncrowded 10K in 0:53. Submitted new time to runDisney, but there is at least one report of a runner trying to submit a second time and Disney rejected it. I'm guessing I'll need to wait a few days before runDisney responds to my submission - any words of reassurance or advice? I promise when I get to the PHM, I'll just run and have fun and not be so worried about time. Really.

Matt - thanks so much for your report! Glad you'll be back and I love the "happy busy" description of BC! Just a couple thoughts about dining - are you interested in trying a few signatures? Maybe you did that already, but I know that when we focus on character dining or the restaurants that guests may perceive as "kid friendly" at WDW, we get this feeling that the dining is just OK. Over the years, we've increased our signature dining (no dining plan, but we do use TIW for discounts) and decreased our character/fixed price meals. As a result, we have an entirely different view of Disney dining. Wonderful to see an interesting menu and relaxing atmosphere, knowing our kids (even our youngest) are welcome. (Actually, our youngest is a child with a disability, and the more calm the restaurant, the better his behavior.) If your wife enjoyed GF, I wonder whether either YC or BWI would be a good fit for your next visit.

Teena, glad you're feeling better and thinking of that sweet little Lily - hoping for a quick recovery!

Ok. I am due at POR on October 3rd, and I am really thinking of switching to the YC. Great job here on this thread convincing me to "jump "
Now, here comes my question, with all this MB and Fast pass stuff.....can I? I have my MB's and my Fast pass already booked? What will happen?
Also, we are going to a concert at HOB and I am concerned about DTD transportation. If I can make the change to the YC should I just plan on
Getting a taxi?

DW and I are arriving on 10/1 for F&W!! Staying in a BCV Studio for 3 nights!!!! CANNOT WAIT!!!!

Sure am!! Lily is real sick. They are at a clinic now and dr said they may have to admit her. I'll know more soon. If necessary, I'm hopping on a plane tomorrow or even tonight if I can find one.

said some prayers for Lily...Thinking about you and your family Teena

I'm not 100% sure, but I think you will get a new MB if you switch resorts. From some of the reports from people with split stays, the same set of MB's will work at all of their resorts. I would think that the MB that you already have would work at the YC once you linked your reservation to your MDE account. And I would think that your fp+ would not be affected, since the fp+ is tied to your tickets rather than the MB.

:welcome:

Glad to hear we are encouraging you over to the Dark Side!!! ;)

Let us know if you do make the switch and I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

I don't have the answer to your MB questions, but yes, a taxi is a good way to get to/from DTD if you have a time crunch. It should be around $15 each way plus tip.

Typically, the bus ride from YC/BC has not been too bad and I think it takes us about 25 minutes or so, but if you need to be at the concert for a particular time, I would plan on an hour travel time from the bus stop so you are not late.

Or again, the taxi is a great option. We usually use the taxi on the way back to the BC from DTD, because the return DTD are miserable to this resort and pretty much all of the resorts on property.

Sure, feel free to link to my post. No problem.

Thanks so much! It was a fantastic review!

page 98-101

I sent an email to our travel agent we use on our last trip she gave me some great news about the same timing in 2014 for our trip. Crossing my fingers we can pull it off. My mom traveled with us in August she said there is no way she going back unless we stay at the YC lol.

Smart mom!

I'm sure you will let us know if you book again for next summer.

:cool1:

I'm pretty sure it's 10 for this tour Dee.

Thanks for the info. We will check into this the next time we have a family trip to Disney.

One more question- can anyone book this? Do you need to be staying club level or is open to everyone? This is different from the Sunrise Safari that has booking restrictions. I suppose I could go to the link you provided...

Shameless Plug- I have started writing the trip report chapter where you and I meet up for GGS. I'll be posting that sometime today.

Ive been reading this thread and looking at pictures, but Im still left with a question.

At the Beach Club, are the vanity areas closed in with a door, or they exposed to the room with only the shower and toilet behind a closed door?

Just in case I haven't given you a greeting yet, :welcome:

Here are a couple of pictures that will sort of show you the set up. I don't have a picture taken from the hallway into the vanity/bathroom area, but this one is close. The sink/vanity area is behind that wall with the picture.

If there is someone at the YC/BC now or soon who could take a picture from the hallway vantage point into the vanity area, I would appreciate it.

Hi every one. I just booked yesterday and I have buyers remorse. I really liked the idea of a one bedroom villa but I believed that the BC resort and BC villas were the same. I am seeing now that they are not. I am not with DVC I just booked through Disney. Is it a separate resort further away from everything? Do you still get all the amenities? Access to the water park?

So confused. Disney is so big and I don't want to be disappointed.

:welcome:

:woohoo: but sorry you are questioning your decision. :headache:

Hopefully others have helped to ease your mind that you will not be too far away from anything. Yes, you are able to use all of the resort pools and amenities. About the only thing I can think of is limited maid service in the villas, but help me DVC folks- if she booked through Disney does she get daily service still???

When is your trip? Would you like me to add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1?

:cool1:

I just returned from a split stay at BCV and BC. They are so close that the guy who picked up my luggage at BCV was the same guy who delivered it to the BC LOL

But seriously they are all in the same complex just separated by sidewalks. Here are some pics so you can see for yourself

One more, this is taken from the CL balcony, the blue building is the BC and the green building is the BCV

Hope this makes you feel a little better about your choice.

Thanks for this picture! I can't remember if you have posted it before. I took a couple of photos from the BC CL lounge balcony, but this one is much better! I have copied it for my files.

:goodvibes

Does anyone have or could someone take a picture from the YC CL balcony (if there is one)

P.s. aware that beaches and cream not really a good use of dining credits, but here now, one of us is feeling a little more beat than usual, and we want something simple and convenient.

Thanks.

:welcome:

I know you are already at the resort, but glad to have you here on the thread. Hope your trip is fantastic!

:thumbsup2

Just got another report ... doctors have her on steroids and two other meds. Said wait to see but if she gets any worse at all, take her right to hospital. As of now, Jeanne said for me to wait. If she gets worse, I'm flying out right away.

Not sure what it is. They took throat x-rays ... she makes horse sound but doctor says he's afraid of throat closing.

I hate being so far away.

Teena, I'm so sorry to hear about Lily. I know this is so hard for you not being close by to help.

Please keep us posted. If you are headed in to work as scheduled today, I'll keep an eye on postings from Jeanne on FB.

Yes, if booked through Disney and paying cash you will get regular daily housekeeping just as if on the "hotel side." ::yes::

As others have said, I don't think you will find the location to be an issue at all. In fact, you're actually closer to Epcot and perhaps even a quiet pool and the Marketplace than you'd be in the hotel.

The only other difference, other than the obvious layout of the room with kitchen, is that there is different decor between the hotel rooms and the villas. The villas are a bit dated, in my opinion, but it wouldn't cause me to stay away.

Welcome from a fellow switcher. We originally booked POFQ for our next trip but I just couldn't bear the thought of coming all the way to Disney and not staying at the Yacht Club.

Teena, I'm so sorry about Lily. It's always so hard when little ones aren't well. Sending lots of get well pixie dust her way!

Just returned yesterday from a 7 night stay at POP, it was not magical, we will be back to BC in 2015! Can't wait! We visited on Monday and Wednesday, it feels like home to us.

That just makes me even more excited about my trip!!
Also I would just like to point out what wonderful people are on this thread- the well wishes and concern for Lily is just so kind. I can't help but trust the opinions of such warm and considerate people. If this is the resort such nice people enjoy-sign me up
Thanks everyone and prayers to Lily

I posted these pics on my trip report to see if anyone could tell me what the maid created. Maybe someone on here can guess. Take a look and see what you think. Thanks.
