I sent an email to our travel agent we use on our last trip she gave me some great news about the same timing in 2014 for our trip. Crossing my fingers we can pull it off. My mom traveled with us in August she said there is no way she going back unless we stay at the YC lol. I have to say we will make a few changes tho. I enjoyed CL but my husband didn't. He is a big breakfast person eggs are a must and hard boiled just didn't do it for him. I enjoyed grabbing something quick while everyone was getting ready then heading out early. We didn't have the dinning plan, I only booked 4 dinners. I figured we could just grab a QS here or there. Ya didn't work out so well. I have to agree with posters about park hoppers, we didn't have them on our trip and I regretted it. I would have loved to walk in and out of Epcot whenever I wanted. The coffee cart right as you walk in was awesome! Much better than the coffee offered in the lounge

Yes, my agent also mentioned to me that deal would be back again for August 2014. With maybe a few more hotel options. Hoping I can convince DH to not skip a year!!!

We were the opposite, because we had hoppers and the proximity to WS, I scheduled too many TS dinners at a Epcot. We could have used a few more laid back quick meals. Delicate balance.

Hi every one. I just booked yesterday and I have buyers remorse. I really liked the idea of a one bedroom villa but I believed that the BC resort and BC villas were the same. I am seeing now that they are not. I am not with DVC I just booked through Disney. Is it a separate resort further away from everything? Do you still get all the amenities? Access to the water park?

So confused. Disney is so big and I don't want to be disappointed.

Yes, it is a separate building but very very close to everything. The Yacht and Beach Club Resort has three buildings: the Beach Club, the Yacht Club and the Beach Club Villas. Each has their own "quiet" small pool and all three share Stormalong Bay (the water park) and all the restaurants and amenities (health club, arcade, etc.).

You guys are the best --- great advice on the bus/taxi question I asked - so helpful! :thumbsup2

Teena - so glad to hear you are feeling better! Getting excited for the big California trip?

Sure am!! Lily is real sick. They are at a clinic now and dr said they may have to admit her. I'll know more soon. If necessary, I'm hopping on a plane tomorrow or even tonight if I can find one.

Just got another report ... doctors have her on steroids and two other meds. Said wait to see but if she gets any worse at all, take her right to hospital. As of now, Jeanne said for me to wait. If she gets worse, I'm flying out right away.

Not sure what it is. They took throat x-rays ... she makes horse sound but doctor says he's afraid of throat closing.

I hate being so far away.

If you are in the Beach Club gift shop, there is a door across the hall. You go out the door and walk across a very short path to get to the villas building.

If you're at the Beach Club Villas, you are in the closest building to Epcot. Really short walk. I think one of the early pages of this thread has my picture of the shortcut.

When you come out the door of the villas building, look over to your right and you'll see the area outside the front door of the Beach Club main building. There's a path you can walk across to get to that area, and then on to the bus stop. You don't have to go back inside the Beach Club main building and then out the front door to get to the bus stop.

I just returned from a split stay at BCV and BC. They are so close that the guy who picked up my luggage at BCV was the same guy who delivered it to the BC LOL
But seriously they are all in the same complex just separated by sidewalks. Here are some pics so you can see for yourself

This picture is taken from the main entrance to the BC and that lovely green building is the BCV

This picture is taken from my room at BC. Again you can see the BCV and even Spaceship Earth behind it.

One more, this is taken from the CL balcony, the blue building is the BC and the green building is the BCV

Hope this makes you feel a little better about your choice.

We've stayed in the BCV's three times and love them. The villas are closer to the bus stop than many of the BC rooms are. The shortcut to Epcot's International Gateway is very convenient from the villas. You are just a few steps away from the lobby and the Marketplace. When you sit at the outside tables near the Marketplace you are a few feet away from the villas. And the quiet pool is the best, in my opinion. :goodvibes

Don't worry, the villas are almost "glued" to the BC, they are so close. ;)

I hope Lily is better soon. Keep us posted.
I agree that it is hard being so far away. We have grandchildren 1,000 miles away and it is so hard when you can't be there. :(

Beaches and cream question for some of you experts. ;)

When using the disney dining plan, do you get to pick any sundae you want or are your options more limited?

I don't want to feel cheated, lol.

P.s. aware that beaches and cream not really a good use of dining credits, but here now, one of us is feeling a little more beat than usual, and we want something simple and convenient.

Thanks.

The only thing I know about the desserts and dining plan at Beaches and Cream is that the kitchen sink is not an option. I'm not sure about the other desserts.
