Good afternoon, My wife and I will be staying in a studio at BC from 10-25 till11-2 and I was just wondering about the possiblity of requesting a full size coffee pot vs. the small ones already in the rooms. I was planning on bringing ours as well as our blender but if these items can be borrowed easily from the resort I would rather not pack ours. Would these items be requested on check in or before arriving? This is truly an amazing board with almost an overwhelming amount of information. I sure am glad I found you all.
Thanks in advance

Glad you enjoyed so much you are returning!! Do you mind sharing what the bounce back was??

I believe the dates available were August 20, 2014 to September 29, 2014 for Free Dining. This offer was not in the booklet in the room, our booklet still had the 2013 information. I called x8844 from the room and cm said I could book the aforementioned FD BB or the room only discount for dates in 2013. RO for 2014 was not available.

If you want to upgrade to PP+, you could call them and explain the situation and they'll do that for you. I had a PP bought a couple of years ago which I never got to use so I had the credit. I wanted PP+ this trip, since I wanted ride photos, magic shots and we are doing a couple of character meals. I called PP people, and they gave me the credit for PP I bought and I just had to pay the difference to upgrade and it only took about 5~10 minute phone call. :goodvibes
Thank you mousegear:thumbsup2! I'm going to look into this!!! Was anything on your magic band? I thought I heard they were being scanned when photo pass pics were taken? I could be totally wrong!!!

I need to catch up with some changes to the Be Our Guest list and welcoming some new friends- I'll do that in the morning.

I have a Photopass Plus question.

I know you get a single card to use to add your ride photos. Are you able to add other cards to the account (not ride photos) . Say you split from your party and someone else has the card. Can you still get your picture taken at one of the park icons and then add that card/photos to the main account?

    Thanks!

Ohhh thanks for asking! I don't have the answer, but wanted to add a question to it!! I've heard that getting your initial card/lanyard can be time consuming, and on our first day that's the last thing I want to do - would it be possible to use another card until we had time to wait for the FP+, and add those pics?? Sorry that was long winded!!
    Thanks

Other than for dining locations AND ride photos, you can get regular pp cards from around the park when your party splits up. Load those into your account when you get back and it will be added to your pp+ cd/download!

You can't use a regular pp at the select rides and dining locations that the pp+ gets you, but if you just ant pictures around the park, get a regular pp card, add it to your account when you get home and you are good to go.

FYI, we picked up our pp+ card/lanyard at Epcot on our first day in the park - I would say it took us three minutes maximum to pick it up, so it may be worth it to plan to pick it up and when you get there if the line is long just come back later!

Back for our wonderful stay at the Yacht club. I did my part and drank several sunken treasures. I was told that so many people have been ordering them that they are seriously thinking of putting them back on the drink menu. Gosh I wonder what group of people are ordering them. :thumbsup2 Also booked the bounce back so will be returning to the Yacht club (cl lagoon view) 9/24-9/29/14. :) So please add me to the BOG list. Guess I need to update my ticker!
Glad you had a great trip! I can't wait to order one too in 16 days!!!

Thanks so much for the welcome, natebenma.

    :)

I can now say I'm officially a convert, and the Beach Club is tied for the top spot in my favorite Disney resorts (that I've actually stayed at...a whopping 5 now, lol).

The Poly shares the honors as my inner child still adores that view of the castle from the Volcano pool, and it happens to house 2 of my favorite Disney restaurants.

Anyway, I thought I would share a few thoughts with you, the good and the not so good and the in-between:

After being presented with a room at the POR for our first night room only ressie that was exactly opposite in every way from our online requests, we were pleasantly surprised to find all of our requests were met at the BC. We had a 4th floor garden view room with a nice view of the courtyard, close to the lobby, the Marketplace, and the transportation. It was clean, and we didn't even mind the lack of a full balcony. We were that happy to be at the BC. We even got towel Mickeys and towel animals several days. ;)

A side note...even though our Royal Room River View was at the far corner of nowhere (i.e., Parterre Place, literally the far corner), it was actually lovely and the princess decor was a nice touch. We particularly enjoyed the light up headboards, lol, and it started our 10 day trip on the right note, drawing out the inner child in both of us.

    :rotfl2:

Ok, back to the BC, seeing as this is the BC thread.

Stormalong Bay was awesome, and we found it quite relaxing. Our visits were mostly limited to the evenings, though, so that surely had something to do with it. And those pictures of the "quiet" section of the pool with the little waterfall and the steps to the hot tub? Well, that was our favorite spot to hang out at, and though we wandered each section, we kept returning there.

We really enjoyed walking to EPCOT along the water.

The buses were generally not a problem. We did wait for a bus to Magic Kingdom one day for almost 45 minutes, but that didn't seem to be the norm, and overall, we were pleased with all the transportation options at the BC.

Multiple people we met told us they'd experienced a lot of rain during their trips, but we only had a couple of showers, and neither lasted very long. The humidity got to us a couple of times, but being from the South and having experienced the World during the month of June, it truly wasn't that bad, imo.

Dining-wise, we had a few misses, and we had our share of last minute cancellations (La Hacienda in the Florida humidity after a long day of touring parks seemed like a monumentally bad idea at the time). Overall, though, our experiences were good.

Ohana--this has always been a favorite of mine, and everything was so good again this time. Plus, we had a super nice, attentive server, and that always helps.

Liberty Tree Tavern--sure, it was just appetizers and dessert. But those cheese sticks and that Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake were more than worth it.

Yak and Yeti--my goodness, the Cream Cheese wonton dessert! Yummy.

Raglan Road--such a fun experience with the singing and the dancing. Oh, and the food was good, too.

Hoop de Doo Revue--great way to finish off a fantastic trip. The cornball humor and cornbread was just what we needed to prepare ourselves to return home. ;)

Via Napoli--was good, but I guess I'm one of those people that prefer Americanized pizza. The Ugly But Good Sundae, though, more than made up for my regret of not having ordered pasta here. It was very creamy and flavorful (I'm sensing a pattern here, lol).

Sci-Fi--really wish we had used the time spent here riding Star Tours or RnR again. It was just bleh. And the cheesy clips usually appeal to me, but this time I found myself checking my phone the whole meal and wondering what the wait time was for TSM.

Mama Melrose--I can say my 5 cheese macaroni was good, and maybe my steak would have been. Had the waitress not mistakenly thought I'd requested it rare instead of medium well. She did take it back to the kitchen for me and even brought me back a second helping of macaroni, but my steak was basically a charred piece of leather when it came back, and service here was super slow. We had a ressie just before 5 and literally had no time to do anything else after the meal beside sprint across the park to Fantasmic. I guess the silver lining could be that we had great seats for Fantasmic, but really. The fastpass+ seats looked just as good.

    Oh, almost forgot...

Beaches and Cream--the sundaes here were monstrous(ly good). I'm so glad I stuck to a side order of fries to go along with my Fudge Mud Slide. There's no way I would have been able to even eat the measly half I managed. These babies are definitely built for two, and while the sundaes at Ghiradelli were just as good, you're definitely getting more bang for your buck at B&C, at least portion-wise.

Our other meals were honestly not very memorable.

    Other thoughts...

La Nouba was amazing, even though our seats were not front and center. They were more like front and side, lol.

MNSSHP was super fun, and we loved, loved, loved HalloWishes! There were a lot of people there, but we still got to basically walk on every ride and closed the park down. The lines for characters didn't seem unmanageable, but we mostly skipped them for the candy trails and people watching in between riding HM over and over again and doing everything else with minimal waits.

Still love the Lion King show in Animal Kingdom, but nothing was different than the last several times I'd seen it.

Magic Bands worked pretty well. It was absurdly easy to spend money with them, lol, and my room bill reflected that. I was worried about losing them, though, and I have a nice little tan line on my wrist, lol. I wish they were a little more comfortable. It seemed no matter how I adjusted mine, it kept rubbing over the bones in my wrist or sliding up my arm. After a while, though, it just seemed to become an extension of my arm. I did catch myself trying to check the time on several occasions, though. ;)

Fastpass+ worked out great for us for the most part, too.

It was nice, after 4 trips to Disney, to finally be able to see what all the fuss is about concerning Toy Story in HH. It was fairly simple to change experiences and times on the go with the different kiosks set up around the parks. I was surprised to see more of the big name rides were still available for fastpass+ same day.

Really, the only thing we didn't particularly like about the fastpass+ was having yet another part of our vacation so scheduled, but you know what? If we weren't feeling the schedule, it was easy to change and take the day as it went.

Lines generally weren't bad; both mornings we went to AK, we walked right on EE multiple times, and it wasn't even our first stop of the day.

Whenever we felt a park was getting a little crowded, we just hopped on a bus, boat, or monorail and went elsewhere.

We did have a couple issues with getting stuck on rides, and the CMs at Test Track really could have handled themselves better, I think, when we were literally frozen in place for over 45 minutes. I'm telling you, we did a full on sprint to make it to Via, lol.

Thankfully, we made it to the end of Splash before it completely stopped. I think we were stuck for nearly 40 minutes that time with Zippity Do Dah playing on nonstop loop before the CMs came to rescue us and pry us out of the boats to escort us out the back. At least we received anytime fastpasses and the CMs were nothing but courteous and apologetic. Still, we couldn't even look at Splash again after that little episode. Whenever that song would play on the bus or in the park, we would groan. The only positive was we didn't get stuck on Small World. The thought was enough to scare us away from chancing it.

Photopass+ had a few nice perks, but I don't think it is something I would splurge on again, unless I had a bunch of little ones with me and didn't want to carry my own camera at all. Most of the photographers seemed annoyed when you asked about Magic Shots, even though the CMs at the Photopass pick up spots encouraged you to ask about them.

All in all, we had a great trip, and I can't wait to go back to the Beach Club.

Unfortunately, it's not going to be next year as the bounceback option that worked best for the party that I'll be traveling with was AofA. I'm trying not to be disappointed, because yay! I'm going back to Disney!

But I can honestly say the BC spoiled me, and now, I can't imagine staying anywhere else unless it's the Poly. I'm hoping the Nemo suite is enough to change my mind. Maybe I can convince them to do a split day with Stormalong Bay as enticement.

    LOL!

Thanks again for the welcome, and sorry for the novel-length post.

    Yay!!!

    I'll make the change

    :cool1:

I just booked 2 nights at the Beach Club using the Disney Visa room only discount for next April.

They had standard and garden rooms available and I chose garden since it was only 15.00 more and I much prefer that view over a parking lot view.

I love the Flower and Garden Festival so it will be perfect to stay at the BC and walk into Epcot.

I've never stayed at BC before so I will be adding that to my list of resorts I've stayed at. :thumbsup2
Here's an official :welcome: to you.

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list on Page 1.

    :woohoo:

I just posted about the Sunken Treasure on my trip report in response to someone who asked about it. Someone commented that since it is Lime Green, it is a great selection to be the official drink of this thread on the DIS.

I had never thought about it that way.

That would be awesome if we got it added back onto the menu!!!

I'm not sure about the answer to your question about the requesting a larger coffee maker. At the risk of sending you poking around on Page 1, in one of the BCV posts, there is info about the items you can request when staying at the villas.

Maybe one of our DVC friends here knows is you can request a larger coffee make. In my humble and caffeine-addicted opinion- you really should be able to!

Also, try searching the word blender on this thread. Some one else recently asked about blenders in the villas- it was a week or so ago, but I don't remember exactly when or what was discussed.

Sorry that this is off topic, but I feel better asking here, knowing I'll get quick and accurate responses -
Backstory - we are staying BC CL 10/18-10/25 (13 days away :cheer2:). Because we've done deluxe dining in the past, DH wanted it this year :confused3 but he doesn't know we are staying CL. There are 8 other people traveling with us, all staying at different resorts, and all are on the regular dining plan. ADR's are made. We are staying two days longer than the rest of the group, those nights are 2point dinners (which I'm willing to nix).
Question - is it too late to change DxDP to the regular? How much will it "cost" me to change? No matter how I plan it, we'll still have 6 meals unused. If I can't change now, will I be able to use the extras on my family?
    Thanks so much!!:worship:

Thank YOU for the the novel-length post. We're headed for the world in Nov and staying at the BC for the first time. We've only ever stayed at POR. I love hearing about others trips and sometimes, I can't dedicate enough computer time to read a full out trip report. This was PERFECT! Glad you had such a great time! :goodvibes

I finally figured out BOG lunch & now have a time for 12:10-12:40p on Oct 30th!!! I'm so happy :cool1:! If youre still getting the error message like I was every time you log in, try using a different email. I read somewhere on the board that changing emails would work, so I used DHs email with our reservation # & lo & behold it worked!!! The funny thing is as soon as I logged in with his email the system it knew it was us with our reservation # & our names popped up. DH wasn't crazy about picking his meal now, but I'm getting the exact same thing I got on my trip with my aunt. :)

No, no, no! We LOVE :lovestruc posts like yours. They are filled with great information and your opinions, good or bad, are always appreciated on this thread!

    Keep those details coming people!

In other news NM is busy preparing for her October trip. There is much planning and arguing over Food and Whine strategies and Halloween costumes. The boys are up for our Brazilian tour group costumes but no one wants to cart the flag along all night so it looks like a game of "hot Potato" is on with the flag being passed off on unsuspecting members of our touring party. This weekend we are gluing together the seventy teen billion fast passes the boys collected to use as a prop for our costumes. Next up I have to Google some Portuguese chants and sharpen my elbows for making my way through the crowds. The best thing about this costume is that our group will be able to go directly to the front of any line, all while repeating the phrase "No English" as we push past other line members. Now that they've taken away our faux Guest Assistance Card scam we have to work the system SOMEHOW! (BTW ;) ;) ;) this is ALL IN JEST so unbunch your panties and move along if you are wrapped too tight and are not getting the jokes) PSS. Missy and Franklin you are NOT allowed to steal my idea! :sad2:

NM was dragged kicking and screaming into the Magic band and fast pass plus world. This technophobe finds herself trying to figure out how to hack into Disney's dysfunctional system and schedule those Fast Passes. I did manage to get a BOG restaurant FP+ for lunch but I have no idea how I did it as Tech nerd son did most of the key stroking. I live in fear of letting the kids schedule the other FP+ because they are all going to be on the coasters if I left it up to them. I'm trying to sneak a little Beauty and the Beast in there if you know what I mean.

So that's what's up with me. I was In New York City on business recently and I had the chance to have dinner with Nannette. She tried (in vain) a number of times to push me in front of racing taxi cabs as we made our way along the urban jungle that is Manhattan. I was thankful that I left Buzzy zipped up inside my luggage where he spent the evening safe and away from the homicidal tendencies of Nannette. Some New Yawkers should come with a warning label if you know what I mean. ;)

    Hi,
This question has probably been asked but cant remember the answer!
I'm going to start packing soon and wanted to know if I should pack my DD2's swim ring?
She has just turned 2 and has a life vest type thing but she loves to bob around in her swim ring, it is a baby swim ring with the bottom in, if you get what I mean?
I cant remember if they are allowed in Disney Pools? Last time we went when my other DD was young I remember being told at TL/BB that we couldn't use her swim ring but I think it was just a ring, no bottom.

    thanks in advance:)
