Hello BC/YC fans! Just returned from 2.5 weeks in California and can't believe how fast this new thread has grown! Thanks again to Dee!

Just a few OT notes regarding DL and runDisney - had a great time at the inaugural Disneyland 10K. I can see how the runDisney addiction develops! (But wow - those crowds do slow the pace. My training run times were much faster, but least I have a proof of time for the Princess Half in February.) Cars Land was great fun - loved Radiator Springs Racers. Still love the Grand Californian Hotel and now I think we're hooked on cabana rentals at the pool - that was WONDERFUL! Napa Rose is still an outstanding restaurant and Trader Sams is a ton of fun - hope the rumors that they will open one at Poly are true! A CM asked our family to open the park at California Adventure, so now we've had the opportunity to open both Disneyland and California Adventure - yay! Still have a strong preference for WDW, but great to get in a couple Disney days during our time at the beach. :)

P.S. Happy to get all of our ADRs for February! We were on west coast time on our 180 day mark, so I didn't call in as early as usual, but it still worked out: Garden Grill, Liberty Tree, Le Cellier, Chefs de France, Flying Fish and Via Napoli. So excited!

I'll try to catch up!

We are in single digits!!!!! Insert happy dance here....

:banana::banana::banana:

Ticker check- Two weeks from today we will be on the plane traveling to Disney!

:cool1::cool1::cool1:

REMEMBER.... it is a rumor. It is speculating that paper FPs will be available only to resort guests in the near future. People staying offsite and (I suppose) those who live locally will not be able to utilize this perk anymore.

It certainly would make a lot of sense if Disney wanted to fill all their resorts!

I guess if that is true it will be another selling point to stay on property.

Yippee!! So exciting. I am down to less than 2 weeks myself. :yay::yay:

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

50 days until our FIRST trip to Yacht Club! We are planning LOTS of time at the pool and the resort to enjoy all the loveliness. Cannot wait! :cheer2:

Scoop here! I did laundry at the BC quiet pool this morning. Only two washers and dryers working. A castmember came in with another guy. They were showing him wherevthe new equipment will be installed on 9/9. They will paint the room and install the doublestacked machines. Great news for folks arriving next week.

I am SO excited to hear this. My 180 day window opens up on a Sunday. With a daughter who will be 6 months at the time, there's no way I want to wake up before I have to - those precious extra minutes of sleep in the morning are worth the difference in not getting the time at Cali Grill (or getting it at all during my +10 time!)

Maybe I missed this, but does anyone know if you can use your Magic Bands to gain access to SAB now or do we still have to bring our KTTW cards for everyone in our group? Since the Magic Bands are waterproof it would be nice to just wear those than to worry about all the KTTW cards and leaving them at our pool chair while swimming. :thumbsup2

Congrats on the DL 10k!! :thumbsup2

I'm a little concerned about the crowds for the Princess Half myself. My times were tracking pretty well until a minor injury a week or so ago - hoping to get back up to my usual pace as soon as possible. How much time do you think you lost?

I actually like this idea, I feel I pay a premium to stay onsite & like the extra benefits & FP seems like a benefit for those staying onsite in my opinion. I can see if this happens Disney offering non resort guests the opportunity to buy FP for extra on top of reg admission. Isn't there a similar idea at Universal?

Yes, Universal has a pass you can buy that gets you front of the line access, just like guests staying in one of their on-site hotels. The only difference is that you are limited to just one front of the line admission to each attraction, unlike on-site guests who can use front of the line access as many times as they like.

:welcome: to the thread.

May I add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1?

:cool1:

I believe that the plan is to have guests use Magic Bands to gain access to SAB, but from what I have read, the wifi out at the pool area is not that great and the signal does not always work.

I think guests have had mixed experiences with being required to show room keys or just being let in by showing the bands. I would suggest continuing to follow the posts here, or on some of the Magic Band boards as we get through September to see what is being required.

August testing was just for YC guests. BC/BCV guests were added to the MB test for September, so we should have lots of people reporting back with their experiences.

Thanks! And sure, you can add me! :thumbsup2

Haven't caught up with the thread - came home from phase 2 of our trip a couple of days ago and the contractor ended up starting a project in our bedroom, so it wasn't a great homecoming! Stuff is still in suitcases for me and DH. Closet is torn up!

I have all my notes for my trip report. Can't wait to start working on it, but I need to transfer all my pics from my phone. :) It is indeed a TRIP report. Still have a tiny bit of a black eye. Got completely ripped a new one by my doctor for not going to the hospital. Oops!!!

Quick question: do the doors for the balcony lock (I'm assuming yes) and what kind of locks? I'm trying to figure out if I need to bring something to toddler-proof the doors. My son is really tall and can already unlock/open our doors so I need to be prepared!

We just showed our Magic Bands they didn't even give us bracelets unless we wanted them.

At the YC there was a lock on the handle and another lock all the way at the top of the door.

Here is a picture, you can see where the locks are on the door.
