2012? No Problem...but when?

Nini, I'm not sure that kidnapping a child would be exactly "legal". But if you don't say anything, I won't say anything. ::yes::

Looks like life hasn't quieted down in the Nini household. Continued prayers for your grand princess.

I'm going to attempt to get this PTR back on track...without the medical drama for a while!

My Disney hating daughter and her wonderful husband joined us on our last trip to Disney...of course, they waited until about 30 days out to decide to go.

Coming up soon is their 5th wedding anniversary. They were thinking of Cancun or Boston for their anniversary trip. (on their honeymoon he was only 3 days after his last chemo treatment and was sick, sick, SICK the whole time so they felt they needed a do over!)

They had budgeted $1500 for the trip. They were having problems fitting in a weekend trip with their budget... so they laughed when I suggested Disney. After a couple of days to think about it...they are going to Disney for their anniversary....did I mention it is less than 3 weeks away! They are going over Memorial Day Weekend...crazy busy time to visit!

Staying at POFQ, three days park hopper and dining plan. Their favorite meal last year was Jiko...so that was the FIRST thing they booked. They are working on the rest of their dining plans...long distance since they are visiting his parents this weekend without internet...so they are doing it over the phone with me...

It is almost as much fun as planning my own trip!

Nini

I've been to Boston and I've been to Disney. I'd vote for Disney.

::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes::

PS... I am hoping they bring me back a grand child as a souvenir!

Nini, just checking in to see if there are any updates on your grandprincess.

Hope you have a Happy Mother's Day!

Thanks for asking...

She was SUPPOSED to get a walking boot on Friday (she has not walked in over 8 weeks. She is still non weight bearing at all) but the surgeon could not get a good fit. She needed the heel to fit all the way down in the boot and the only way she could tell if it was fitting right was to put her hand in...but the wound vac bandage was in the way.

They will now have to wait until more of the bone is covered and they don't have to knock her out to change the bandage.(so she can tell them when it is placed right) If she puts weight on it without the foot being placed properly, she could undo all the good that the surgery did (I DID find that part a bit ironic...it is hard for me to think of ANY good having been done with this surgery!)

We have a pool party in less than a month, and a beach vacation coming up at the end of June. We still don't know if she will be able to go. While that is minor in the grand scheme...I think she really really NEEDS a vacation!

+++++++++++++++++
In 10 days my daughter and her husband leave for Disney. The design I was having someone make for me has been finished and I will hopefully test stitch it out today...then I have a total of 8 shirts to make for them...provided they get the shirts to me soon!

I managed to finish my first launch outfit this weekend, and got started on my second. I will be doing a big sis little sis set. Each a bit different, but using the same fabrics. Little sis will be a size 3-4 and big sis a size 10....Animal Kingdom.... I think I gave just a few more hints than I wanted to...but you get the idea!

I am making a total of 20 beach towels for my DD's beach /pool/luau birthday party the first week of June. They are turning out really cute...but are very labor intensive! Each one takes an hour to stitch out plus the time it takes to put the names on. It is not an intricate design...just that the towels are so thick I am having trouble with the cutting! I have four of them done!

I am also redecorating the pool deck and back porch for the party...meaning I am recovering all the pillows and cushions on the patio furniture (and I repainted all the furniture!) We are going with a beachy theme with the Finding Nemo fabric from Caribbean Beach Resort as a jumping off point. (I was able to get a few yards of that fabric a few months ago) So far, I have made the cushion for the settee and 5 or 6 throw pillows along with the table cloth...but still have a LONG way to go!

And of course, I am STILL working on the neverending quilt saga! I have a quilt restoration I have been working on for over 2 months! It is not fun, so I am having a lot of problems sticking to it! My deadline was supposed to be this weekend, but it is still so far from being finished it is not funny! (let me explain...it is an UGLY quilt! I thought it was going to be relatively easy to complete...but once I tore into it I discovered that the 'pattern' is really non existent! Each square is similar, but was pieced much too randomly to be able to actually use a pattern, so each square has to be hand measured and hand cut....and it is still hard to get the angles right! Sheesh...I think $400 was way under priced for the amount of work, and I don't really like the way it is turning out.)

This is the last week of school...both for public school and my DS's home school. We will take a short break and start back on home school the first of June. Since we do year round school we try to keep it fund during the summer. This summer we are doing Disney School. My favorite way to learn new stuff about Disney... For our Pirates of the Caribbean week, we will finish off the week with a Pirate Treasure hunt. I am hoping to tie in one movie each week and using that movie for our Friday night Disney Movie Night.. we will see how it goes! LOL!

Plus I have 80 something shirts to finish for our trip...but since we still don't know exactly when we are going, it is making it a bit difficult to come up with a plan. I seriously see me working right up to the day we leave.....AGAIN!

So...that brings everyone up to date on my no so exciting life...but doesn't explain why I am sitting here on the computer instead of working!

I shouldn't read your posts first thing in the morning -- it tires me out.

You must be single-handedly responsible for half of the thread sold in Georgia! All of the work for the outdoor area sounds impressive. I made a hassock cover when we first moved in (three years ago) and decided that working with cording and corners isn't as much fun as they'd have you believe. CBR is our all time favorite, so I know everything will turn out well.

I have about two dozen white towels, most still in the original wrapping, that my son bought for his film shoot. He rented a house for the crew and supplied towels and toiletries. I keep thinking I should personalize a few of them. Hopefully you've inspired me.

Okay, no more reading this, back to work!

:faint: Your life makes my head spin.

First off I want to say that I hope your little grandprincess is on the mend. I can not imagine the stress that your family has been under. I know she is an active little girls so I feel for her that she has not been able to walk for 8 weeks. I think you all need a vacation!

Your DD's b-day party sounds like a blast. I'm sure the outdoor makeover looks fabulous.

Good luck with that quilt! And where do you find the time to work on the launch stuff? That set sounds cute and I can't wait to see the finished outfits.

As for Disney - do you still have the two dates booked?

Cheryl...you mis understand...that is my list of things I NEED to do...not exactly the list that WILL GET DONE! LOL!

No cording for me! I am taking the easy way out...seeing as how I change the outdoor decor almost every year...I'm not spending too much time on it! Last year everything was Mickey/Minnie colors and the year before that it was very Tuscan/Old World style.

LOL...that is exactly where my problem lies...I DON'T have time to get anything done!

We only have one date booked at the current time, but I am probably going to go ahead and book a November date so I can make the ADRs...then spend a couple of days cancelling the trip we don't take! I thought about just piggy backing on my DIL's trip for our November ADRs, but I am a bit afraid that the Disney computer will automatically cancel one when it realizes there are two ADRS booked for each meal! LOL!

So ready for a nap...soooo not happening!

Thank you for doing the update on your little grand princess - I've been wondering about her and how she is doing. I sure hope that everything goes right and she is able to get back to doing all the fun things she likes to do.

As for the rest of your life... CRAZY!!!! I can't believe everything you have on your plate.

Your launch outfits sound wonderful! I can't wait to see them!

I hope you'll show us pictures of your new pool theme too - I bet it looks awesome! So jealous you got some of that fabric... I would have loved some of the old fabric from POFQ... Sigh...

I also hope you'll show us pictures of all the tees when they are done. :)

It's good to see you here my friend - I've been wondering about you. (((Hugs)))

So...last night I did not check my email messages all evening. Form about 5:30 on I did not even turn the computer on. (Strange I know! I usually check my messages during commercials!)

I spent the evening unwinding and reading a new book series (not one I would recommend..just one of those series you keep reading hoping they get better!)

I woke up to this email from my DIL...

".... We have to be in OR at 6:30 Wed and with the turn of events today, we are not sure what is going to happen Wednesday so I need to be prepared for the worst. If Shawn did not call you about today, I am sorry. He is really great and trying to hold it all down, I am not sure how he is doing it. He is at work now."

So, I now get to worry until I hear from my son later today. Since he works nights, I know it will be later today before he lets me know what is going on.

I guess I should have called him yesterday to see how things went with the Princess appointment...but I figured no news was good news. Maybe I was wrong....

Only 4 hours before I get to call him.

Nini

oh Gosh Nini. My prayers are with your family. I can not imagine the stress your son and DIL keep going through. I can vaguely but not to this extent with the constant ups and downs.

I hope things get better for the grand princess soon.

Oh no Nini! (((Hugs))) I pray that everything is OK... Please update us when you can.

D~

Hopefully my DIL was just being over dramatic...

They found a new bit of infection in her foot yesterday. They did a culture, and are awaiting results to decide what their next course of action should be. If there is no good antibiotic that she can take orally they will admit her and do it IV.

Also, her heart had a very irregular heartbeat yesterday. They were a bit concerned about it and she is visiting a pediatric cardiologist this morning. She is scheduled to go under at 6 am tomorrow...

I am praying it is nothing....in fact I am SURE it is.

Thank you for taking a minute to update us. I am praying for your sweet grand princess - I pray that it's nothing and that the antibiotics work.

D~

Just got a chance to speak to my son. The cardiologists said she has PVCs... they have put a heart monitor on her that she will wear for 24 hours. (including during her surgery tomorrow.) They will also take some blood tests while she is under to check some electrolyte levels. The cardiologist said he does not think it is serious...and that she has probably always had it, just with all the extra monitoring she has been getting the past few weeks it has shown up.

I did a few minutes of research and found one of the causes...stress. Hmmm...I wonder if she has been under any stress lately?

Nini

May God's great love hold you and your loved ones in grace and mercy and hope.

May the healing which DGD needs most be the healing that comes over her.

May the many who know and love you discern the ways that their love for you may best be expressed.

May you know, even in moment of doubt, that there are always arms around you.

May the power of God, the grace of the son, and the communion of the Holy Spirit never fade from the journey you are on.

Anon.
