2012? No Problem...but when?

Nini

I am so so sorry you are dealing with this. People are strange with things they say.

Nini... I just wanted to stop by and give you big (((Hugs)))... I can't imagine how hard and stressful it must be for you right now. Personally - I would never think you were in it for the $$, things like that don't ever cross my mind. You have 2 adorable children, and it's so evident to me that you love them so much and have nothing but their best interests in mind... I hope you are able to destress soon and enjoy your trip planning. I can't wait to hear about the rest of your plans!

Since I make my ADRs on Sunday, I thought I'd post my wants and desires (or at least what I was finally able to get the family to agree on LOL...)

Here goes:

Sept 21
Fantasmic package late as possible

Sept 22
Garden Grill 7pm

Sept 23
Crystal Palace 12:30 lunch
Wishes Dessert Party

Sept 24
Boma 7pm

Sept 25
Chef Mickey’s 7 pm

Sept 26
Coral Reef 7pm

Sept 27
Akershus 7pm

Sept 28
Morocco 7pm

Sept 29
Biergarten 7pm

Sept 30
Tony’s 7 pm

Since Sept 25 is actually Mr D's birthday, he is not happy with Chef Mickey's for dinner. However, since it is our break day... and it is tradition for us to go to Chef Mickey's on our first break day...he was out votes. He wanted Coral Reef, so he gets his choice on the day after. Hubby wanted the belly dancers...so he is getting belly dancers on Friday! For the second year I wanted Sci Fi Drive In and for the second year we are not going....and for the second year we are attempting the Fantasmic package on our arrival day....and I am guessing we won't actually make the show again!

I was really hoping for some new places this year, but I seemed to get out voted each time something was suggested. Of course, IF Be our Guest opens while we are there, we will make a change on one of our MK days, but I doubt very seriously if it will happen.

On April 1 I will pay for the special needs stroller. That is usually the part that makes it feel 'real'. Of course, I am SOOOOOOOOOOO far behind on making our shirts I will be sewing them as we go down the interstate.... I really had hoped to be done with them at least a month prior to going...now it looks like I literally will be sewing them as we load the truck!

Holy Hannah. Still a lot going on in your household.

Your restaurant choices are looking yummy. I ate at Tony's for the first time my last trip. Despite the horrible reviews it gets on the restaurant board, I enjoyed it and will definitely go again. I have to dig out Lady and the Tramp -- I haven't seen it in ages.

THAT is why I need a vacation!!!!

My son and DIL loved Tony's last year...so I said we would try it this time...it is one of only 2 new ones this trip!

On behalf of pre-senior citizens everywhere and pre-VBAndrea's clients (patients?) everywhere, thank you for the large print.

Nini

You do need a vacation!!!

We tried Tony's for the first time last year and I was a little hesitant because I figured my DH would not enjoy it too much. He was happy to try something new (blah, blah, blah - he is getting a little sick of Crystal Palace and Chef Mickey but I try to point out that we are not eating at those places for his enjoyment in case he missed the looks of pure joy on the kids's faces). We had an early lunch there and everyone, including DH, said it was their favorite meal of the trip and that we HAVE to go back. I'm not sure if we were starving or if it was really good. My DD and my mom are big fans of Lady and the Tramp so I think that might have helped. I think you will enjoy it and it has the added bonus of being right in the MK.

First the Disney part...

I FINALLY was able to get my ADRs this morning! Seems there is a system glitch that made the system not able to recognize my reservation number so I couldn't make my ADRs at the 180 plus 10 day mark. Spent a little under an hour on hold, but was able to finally get everything I wanted within 5 to 10 minutes of when I wanted.

Unfortunately I got up at 5 am so I could be online to do this at 6....and spent an hour attempting to WILL my computer into giving me the right screen!

So I got a late start to the morning...and it seems everything has been running about par since! (having only an hour to get me and two kids dressed and ready for church is not going to cut it...especially when I don't have breakfast ready!)

Then, at church, Mr D had yet another meltdown. This was one I couldn't put my finger on the actual cause. I hate those kind. He becomes combative and irrational without warning. Forty five minutes later he calms down...but is still on edge. I know that the slightest thing will set him off. And this is when the 14 year old 'child' sitting next to us in services decides to torment Mr D... I'll spare you the details, but I did manage to keep my composure until services was over.

I said something to the 14 year old (bully is a word that is used to describe him a LOT!) and his spiteful, inconsiderate, and disrespectful words were enough to send me over the edge!

After I very loudly, but polite, told him not to call me a liar again...he ran out of the auditorium saying some very un-nice things about me and to me.... I spoke with his grandmother who just smiled and acted like I was saying her grandson had just been given a million dollars....so I gave up and left.

I hate when things like this happen when no other family is around. Hubby is working, son and dil are home dealing with the grand Princess, and daughter and sil are still on vacation in FL.

So, now I am hoping I can get the house clean...since I have a sewing class tomorrow morning and my house looks like an episode of Hoarders blew up in it! (even though I have never watched Hoarders...I just know this is what it would look like!) And get some sewing done, since I am so far behind.

So...good news is I got all my ADRs done this morning...bad news is ....everything else so far today! (including the realization that I need to get 80 shirts done in the next 4 months!)

Nini

Now that I have that rant out of my system...i will go ahead with our ADRs I was able to get this morning.

As you see, it came pretty close to my original plans.

Now that I have this done, I feel like we might actually get to go to Disney after all!

Also on a good or semi good note...I have two restoration quilts right now that the owners wanted quotes on. One I really want to do and the other ...not so much.

I gave the one I don't really want to do a quote on Thursday. I did not include the time for searching for fabrics and the cost of fabrics...mainly because she kept saying she didn't want to spend too much money on it. The quote came to about $450...her only question was how soon it would be finished! I am shocked! I really thought if I made the quote high enough she would go away and I wouldn't have to be mean about it! Now I have to finish up the other stuff in my calendar so I can start working on it...which would be a lot easier to do if the weather turned cold and ugly again!

My mind is telling me this money would make a nice dent in the amount I have to come up for Disney (hubby is paying for all the big stuff, I only have to pay for tips, souvenirs, stroller rental, gas and food on the way there and back....but....I really think I want to get a new sewing machine....I really don't like the underside of my stitches. They hav never been great, but lately they are pretty bad...

Touring plan crowd numbers and best parks changed right before we went each time the last few trips. I've been following the crowd numbers on their site and occasionally checking their facebook updates. They have been very accurate lately.

The crowds have been crazy this spring break. Way more than I remember any year.

I'm so sorry to read about the surgeries and about the bio dad. You could sure use a Disney vacation!!

Sorry that Mr. D had a meltdown today. The last 2 weeks my son has had quite a few of those unexpected ones. I never did find out the reasons on them either. Do Wilbarger brushing and joint compressions work on him once he calms down enough?

Glad you were able to get most of your ADRs!

 That happened to me when I made our ADRs. It wouldnt recognize my reservation number so I had to call. But the CM never linked our phone number to the ADRs so I couldn't even bring them up online

So what does any good planner do... I cancelled them each day after booking them online... one day at a time:rolleyes1

:lmao: And we ate at Tony's in 2010 and it is really pretty inside. Are you going to do a Lady & Tramp outfit.:goodvibes

Slightly Disney related...but not really my trip related...unless you reallllly stretch it!

I am part of the Main Street Boutique launch on Facebook... all my outfits are done, I am waiting on getting my pictures back so I can write the copy and put it all together.

I AM A NERVOUS WRECK!!!!

I am terrified that they won't sell, terrified that the WILL! (what if they hate the outfit?) Every time I sell something I wait almost a month before I take the money out of paypal...because if they change their mind I don't want to have to come up with the money to refund them!

I have that stupid quilt restoration that is due within 8 weeks...still have 74 t shirts to finish before September...and I am actually considering offering some of my outfits as a custom :scared1::scared1::scared1: !!

I have a birthday party tonight where I am supposed to be making a shirt for the birthday boy....and today is my monthly grocery shopping trip....and let's not forget we need to home school today!

So, what am I doing? I have been glued to my computer since 5 am...playing, surfing and doing nothing!

For all those on Facebook...please go find the page and like us...I need all the support I can get!

(see how I did not give you the link...I don't want to break any rules here....so you have to figure it out all by yourself!)

Now, let me tie it all in to our Disney trip....it will be extra spending money....(actually I will probably have to buy a new sewing machine!!!)

I already liked you all yesterday! :rotfl2:

Sounds like you have a lot on your plate - you really need to make a list like Chiara does and cross everything off one at a time. :)

I am having the same problem as you - I really need to get my behind up to my sewing room...

Oh Nini! I feel for you with that list of stuff to do. I'm sure you will get it all done. I always feel better when I make a list and cross them off as I get them done. I am also sure that not only will your outfits sell, but that whoever buys them will absolutely love them! You do fabulous work!

Psst, remember to pass it on too!

So, the launch is tomorrow night. I have to have everything ready to upload at 8 pm Eastern Daylight time. I have been finished with the outfits for a little over a week, and have been waiting on pictures.....

So, she finally sends then to me last night after I had gone to bed at 11.

I have now spent over an hour trying to get the pictures downloaded into my computer that has decided to run as slow as molasses. (I really wish I had time to have it looked at) After I get them IN the computer, I have to upload them to Photobucket (which is also as slow as molasses!). Then comes cropping, watermarking, and praying! Then I get to add the pictures to the copy that has been waiting for over a week ... int ot he template using programmers code (which I know NOTHING about! LOL!)

When I played around with the template it took me about 3 hours per outfit. I have 4.

Two of the outfits are on my mannequin, and two are on my photographer's kids. Unfortunately, the ones on her kids ...well they are great pictures of the kids, but not so great of the outfits! In a couple of pictures they are hugging each other ...and it is shot from the back. GREAT shot, but you couldn't tell what they were wearing if your life depended on it!

The best pictures are taken through a bush...again, a great artistic picture, but you can't make out what the outfit is ....

At least she sent me around 50 of those shots...hopefully I can get enough to make a listing from them.

I really hope she doesn't decide to read my PTR...because I don't want to hurt her feelings, but I don't see how I can use any of the pictures at this point...now I have to find a way to get the outfits back from her so I can get some shots of the actual clothes...

I keep saying I need to hire someone to do this part of the whole process!

(so far 9 of the second batch has uploaded to Photobucket! I may be at this for a while!)

Oh yeah...I get to take care of my Grand Princess this afternoon. Her daddy is going back to work today...or at least attempt to go back to work. I can't wait to see how this works out!

==========

OK...rant over!

Nini

:rolleyes1:rolleyes1:sad2:OMG Nini you are scaring me I have one outfit to finish and it is finally decent enough to take decent pictures this afternoon. I need to play with the template LOL.

I guess she maybe didn't realize that you wanted pictures of the clothing with the details :rolleyes1:rotfl2:

I know it will all work out and good luck with the Grand Princess today.

This has been a day I don't care to repeat anytime soon.

My Grand Princess was supposed to spend a few hours a day (starting today) with me. Her daddy was going back to work for the first time since her surgery. All was going well, except she had no plans of letting me do anything except sit and hold her (and like a good grandma I was doing just that!)

She kept complaining she was hot and wanted the fan on. I usually keep my house a little cool during the summer and I always worry about her getting cool, but she was insisting she was hot. She kept saying she was so hot she thought she was going to throw up. She finally went to sleep. About 20 minutes later she woke up and started throwing up. She was burning up!

After a few minutes, her eyes started looking glassy and strange. I couldn't find a thermometer, so I had no idea how high her fever was, but knew it wasn't good. I called my son and he came home from work, and her mommy came home ... they brought their thermometer and her fever was in excess of 102...

Since we have to worry about infection with the bone graft, they took her to the Children's hospital in Atlanta.

We knew she had a gigantic blood blister on the top of her foot. It was about the size of a baseball. They had put some gel in the cast to help cushion it. We could tell it had burst with the way her toes looked.

The good news is there is no infection in the bone. All x-rays are looking good. They were able to see the rod and all 6! pins (we thought there were only 2) and the foot is straight.

They have had to remove the cast so it has a chance to air out, with the plan to be putting a new cast on it in the morning.

Now they just have to find out what is causing the fever and the rash she is now starting to get covered in!

So now, I am a full day behind schedule, but I don't care, my baby is feeling a bit better and it is not as bad as I was afraid it was. I was truthfully afraid to even breathe!

Thanks for letting me vent again...I promise it WILL get back to being about the Disney trip soon!!!!

Nini

Oh Nini! How scary! I can't even imagine... I know the adreneline rush I get when the girls get sick or have an accident - so I just can't imagine how hard it must have been knowing there was so many reasons to be extra worried.

I am so glad that they were able to get a good look at her leg to see everything.

I sure hope and pray that they are able to figure out what is causing the fever/rash, so the grandprincess isn't uncomfortable for long.

(((Hugs)))

Disboards are running so slowly today! LOL...I have forgotten the whole post I was making in my head!

Yesterday was the 24 week mark for our trip to Disney. I have 74 shirts to do in 24 weeks. No, that number has NOT shrank int he past week (or past month for that matter!) Even with 2 machines I can't seem to get any progress on them.

With the ADRs done, and the countdown starting to get closer, I am finally beginning to start to get excited. However, reading the boards where people are asking about the possibility of free dining in November is starting the whole anxiety thing up again... So, last night I decided I would NOT change the dates...even if they offered a fantastic deal along with free dining for the time frame I want and the resort I want with an engraved invitation specifically for me... well maybe, but not planning on it!

I think my indecision is what is causing my lack of excitement. Normally by now I have started the monthly countdowns, the weekly countdowns and the daily countdowns should start in a few weeks.

Of course, this puppy is causing me to have to pay out a few more dollars before we can go. He has now chewed up 5 usb cords, the cord to my external hard drive, the cord to my new vacuum cleaner, my NEW SHOES for DISNEY! and a few other items!

(and yes, he is still alive...even though he loves to chew on cords that are plugged in!)

Our basic plans for Disney are usually, 4 park days, one rest day and then 4 park days. It works well for us. This year I am a bit confused, since we have 4 park days, one rest day and then 5 more days... not a major problem, just having difficulty in finding a good 'fit' for that extra day. Since we always get hoppers it is not a real problem and we will be eating at Epcot...

I did manage to get the basic touring plans for the first 4 days semi done. Using the GAC makes touring plans a little useless. We generally just list the rides we want to ride in three categories...Must Do, Maybe DO, and NO WAY! Then I list them in clumps according to where they are located. We generally walk through the parks at least twice...hitting the must dos first then going back around to get the maybe dos. (depending on speed of melt downs!)

I am still having a bit of a problem with Epcot. If Test Track is closed, we may have a major melt down each and every visit! Since we will end up there almost every other night for dinner, this could be a major problem...my only hope is the rumors are saying it should be back open for food and wine festival, which starts while we are there!

I really should be planning our Savannah/Tybee Island trip seeing as how it is like only 6 weeks away! But I can't seem to get passed the hotel room. We still don't know if the grand Princess will be able to go with us this trip...we aren't sure how far behind her not being in a cast for these three weeks will put her. We were going to be putting it really, really close as it was.

But we have the hotel room and a couple $100 visa gift cards for meals so we are getting there. (still need to get a couple more!)

I should be down sewing, since I have lost a complete day of productivity yesterday since I spent it with the Grand Princess...but I am currently waiting by the computer and phone for news of my oldest daughter...they had to rush her to the hospital at 10 last night...with chest and tummy pains. They have ruled out heart problems but are not sure what is causing the tummy pains. They are running a CT right now. It is always something...

Nini

Nini - Wow - what an update!

OK - I know you will get everything done... You and Chiara are the fastest shirt makers I have ever seen!

I dont' like your indecision - because I know if it were me, I'd totally go after the FD. LOL We loved it - and I hope to never go with out it!

I must get into my sewing room too... I am slacking today - again.

Please let us know about your dd... It sounds a bit like what I had last fall - that I am still fighting with. I hope they are able to figure it out and she is able to get some relief. Hugs and prayers to you and your dd.

D~
