Pretty sure we'll stay offsite, but FD might change that...just watching!

We went to WDW late September 2011 and did not use FD, even though it was offered. Next trip is going to be Dec 14-21, 2012. Thinking of maybe utilizing FD if it is offered. Does anyone know if your reservations are already made and everything paid in full, will Disney alter your reservation and "refund" if FD becomes offered??

In 8 years of general public Free Dining offers through Disney, there has never been a free dining discount during the thrid week of May. Sorry to say, but I think it's highly unlikely that there will be any free dining discounts released for any May 2012 dates at this point.

You sure about this? Last year we were able to book free dining in the 4th week of May into early June. I'm pretty sure we could have booked the prior week which included Memorial Weekend but opted for the later week. The entire weeks were not included but only the 1st day of your stay has to be a free dining day.

Yes, I am sure there was no free dining dates during the third week of May last year. The only dates that were available in May last year were May 27 - 31. June 1 and 2 were also included in that offer. Those 7 days are the only time in 8 years worth of free dining deals that Disney has ever offered anything in May or June.

The August/September free dining promo should be announced in the next 6 to 8 weeks. You will not get an "email" but these boards will start blowing up about a week before the release, as blogs, planning sites and TAs get the free dining date leaks.

The October - December free dining dates will most likely not be released until mid-summer, probably July.

Got free qsdp on my reservation from 24-31 of may. There is a thread on the discount and code board where lots of people have been able to add free qsdp in April, May and June.

I remember hearing something about them doing this towards the end of the summer when it dies down a little bit. I am keeping my ears open and if I hear anything I'll be sure to post it!

Not sure the dates listed are entirely accurate. Disney changed the dates at least twice that I know of this past year. Our last trip started on Jan. 13th with FD. Disney later removed the 13th. Other dates were changed as well. Last year was quite different than prior years with dates available for FD and their release dates. With Pins being sent out, I tend to think we'll see fall FD and possibly late May and Early June released for all.

If you book through a discount site, meaning you are getting a room discount, then you cannot also get free dining. You can only use ONE discount at a time. I have never booked through a site with air included, so hopefully others will chime in with a more definitive answer.

Those dates are correct. The dates that were released last August, and then changed 2 days later, were not included, because most of the general public could not book those dates and were not aware of those dates.

Pins are sent out all during the year, every year for free dining offers, that hasn't changed, but really pin codes have little to no baring on general public offers and discounts. The August/September free dining dates should be released in the next 6 to 8 weeks. The October -December dates won't be released until the summer, probably July.

No, you can not do that. In fact, you can not even add the Dining Plan at all to a reservation made through Orbitz, or any other travel site. Disney would not even be able to look at or help you with those reservations if there was a problem. Orbitz owns those reservations and they are not affilitated/linked to Disney when you book with them.
