2012 Free Dining Watch and Wait HERE

I wish they would open the end of 2012 for us earlybirds...my deposit is burning a hole in my pocket...plus I need to spend it before DW appropriates it to go to New Orleans again. :rolleyes1

They will likely open it up around May 2 of next year.

Make a reservation at POFQ and it's all good! :)

I've been reading about how slow it is crowd-wise now, and I'm hoping that'll prompt a FD promotion for next fall.

I really feel that I should qualify for the Canadian discount, lol...I am in Michigan, 20 minutes from the Windsor, CAN border. Is it really that much cheaper for me to travel than someone from Windsor? I think not. Hopefully August/September will get announced in the next month or two and I can get booked.

I totally agree we should qualify too!! We live in Alaska so we are closer to Canada then most U.S. states ;)

Just curious and need your advice. I spoke with a CM to get qoutes for October 2012 and he told me that free dining will probably be released in Feb-March. He said I should book my room now and then when dates are released call back and have them adjust the price to include free dining so that I would be guaranteed a room. Does anyone know if they truly would adjust the price for this? We want to go in the fall of next year, but can only do it with free dining.

Yes. They will adjust the price. They always do that. I book for September/October all the time and call back later to have the discount applied (whatever discount I use, Free DDP, room only, etc...) and they do it with no problems at all. As a matter of fact I have our trip for next year booked and paid for already and I will call back around May 2nd when the extension of Fall Free DDP should be issued and have them add the discount to my reservation. Then I ought to get a refund for the difference. Something like $1300.

Thanks a bunch! I will call and book our room then and wait to hear if they offer the free dining. At least I know I will have the room if they do. :thumbsup2

Please keep in mind that you must call quickly in the morning that the discount is released to get the discount applied to the room you have booked. If you wait too long you may end up having to stay at another resort to get to use the discount. There will be people that will tell you I am wrong and that it doesn't matter but there are also those that agree with me on this. I got hammered by this one back in 2008 when we had Pop Century booked through AAA. Well, the discount was released at 7am and I called only to find out after being on hold for 45 minutes that the AAA agent needed to call. They don't get into their offices until 9am (or 9:30 if they feel like it...:( ) and I called her to have her call. She did and after 90 minutes I called her back to see what she found out. She had already gotten off the phone and was going about her day for an hour at that point and hadn't even called me back. She said that they did not have any more rooms available at Pop Century for the Free DDP so she told them to forgat about it. :scared1::scared::crazy2: That's right, she said to not worry about saving me money. :sad2: I ended up having to have her call back and book the discount at the next available resort, which ended up being the All Stars Sports.

Just be sure to call the morning that the discount is released and get it in before the rooms they allot for each discount are gone. They only set aside a portion of rooms per resort for the discounts. :thumbsup2

I feel your pain on our 2008 trip the aaa agent did not want to even try and call. She called the main office to see if she was allowed first. We ended up calling and booking a septet res and canceling our aaa res she said that they could not change because we had paid off the res. SO not true I now make our own res.

What happens is that your old ressie is cancelled and monies are placed toward a new ressie on the rooms they have on free dining if available. Most of the time no one even notices the change but as noted above, sometimes the resort of choice is sold out of rooms for the FD offer.

I'm going for ASSp to begin with so not really an issue for me as that one is almost always among the very last resort on the entire property to sell out. :goodvibes I'm just antsy because the previous two years already had Sept. FD for the next year already offered. This year's Spring FD offer meant you had to buy the photopass package for an extra $90. and hope that doesn't roll around again. :bitelip:

I am hoping for free dining august 2012. i am going this month to book thru AAA. we havent had a problem loosing out when our agent added the free dining. I do have to say tho my AAA travel agent is the best and she is on it for me right away!! this year we are planning on staying at POR Riverside, we usually stay at FW cabins, and taking the new granddaughter!! she will be 17 months!! so excited to take her. fingers crossed for FD!!!!

I have heard this more than I have heard negative things about AAA but once I get burned like that I never forget. I am glad that not all AAA agents are like the one I used. It would be horrible if they were. And I doubt Disney would allow them to continue to be an authorized Disney planner company. And it would figure that the one single time I let someone else do the planning this would happen. I only went with AAA because they claimed to be giving "perks" that Disney doesn't along with the ones Disney gives out. It turned out that the "perks" were just the vouchers that Disney gives. :( And the discount from AAA was only $160. NOT worth it for me.

That's awesome! Have a great trip! I know the little one will!:cool1:

Everyday I listen to the radio online & it has the Disny ad next to it. I clicked on it and it has free dining for select dates through Dec 2012. BUT, I can't find a code AND when I try to book it, the free dining isn't there.

see this link--it is to WDW!

I think it is a Canadian Resident Offer....I am booked for Free Dining into the END of Sept 2012, but it was a Canadian Free Dining offer. Hopefully that is inicative that it Will be offered to the GP as well, eventually, and you will be able to book free dining too! :goodvibes

Those dates are not free dining dates... and the link isn't a free dining rate. Those are just the "value" season dates, where you can book packages are value rates. It's full rack rate, but they are just trying to demonstrate "how cheap" it can be --- when it's value season, and you break it down per person, etc.

I am in Detroit, so its possible. But I am listening to a Detroit station, not a Windsor (CA).

I guess I'll call & see!!! :lovestruc
