2012 Epcot Food and Wine Festival *HAS ENDED*

Goodferry oh yes ask IPO to book what you want. ::yes:: We are staying at the Beach Club CL starting Septemeber 24 and staying on. I have already contacted IPO and told them what we were interested in so they can keep an eye out. They get first notice when new things are opened up. I have used them in past years for F&W and have alway gotten what I have requested. Sure beats getting up at 3:30 AM for us on west coast. :thumbsup2 I did that the first year or two my DH and went.

What's IPO? If I'm using my DVC do I have access to IPO, whoever that is? :rotfl2:

IPO is the planning office for anyone staying club level at one of the deluxe resorts. We are doing a split stay this trip, four nights club level cash reservation at BWI and then 6 nights on points at BWV.

Angel thanks for the reply, I will contact IPO tomorrow and let them know we are interested in some events when info is released. I am a little sad we won't be at the BC club level this year, that's where we stayed last year and DH thought we should "branch out". Honestly though, the trip hasn't happened yet and I can't promise I won't change :rotfl2: Neal who works at the desk in the lounge is one of the best cast members I have ever met, he was so great with us!

Thank you Goodferry for the tip. I will look for Neal at the desk in the lounge. :goodvibes

When will the menus be announced? I think it was July 27th last year; has anyone heard any thing about this year yet?

TDC Nala said there is a TIW preview event on Saturday, so we are hoping for more information then!

I have never been to the festival. This October will be first time tryin the festival!! Wat places do ppl recommend to try?

In my world IPO is an Initial Public Offering, so obviously you and I are both confused right now. :rotfl2: :lmao:

That's OK, in my world DHS is the Department of Homeland Security, good thing the festival is at Epcot.

Did some math on the World Showcase chef's tour. It's $90 and you get 5 food samples and 5 alcoholic beverage samples. What I don't know is if they're bigger than the ones you get from the kiosks. Or will they actually be getting them from the kiosks? I think you do end up paying a bit for the chef guide's time.

Personally I'm going to take the $90 and put it toward Party for the Senses.

Yet another non-pertinent announcement for the F & W Festival:

We want the Food Booth Menus already! I don't care about the fluff filler nonsense.

And I'm with Nala about the Chef Tour. But I'm putting my money toward the Italian Regional Lunches or one of their other offerings. I don't like the idea of them pre-choosing what food booths you get to eat from as I avoid the Asian offerings. I can get plenty of booth samples of my own choosing for that same $90.

We just booked a short trip (5 days) for F&W and a Birthday trip:yay:. I'm so excited!

I am so ready for a real update on the Festival, I could not care less about the "design stars"...but I am sure other people do :)

I feel the same way about getting to chose where I sample....but I think we will need to do PFTS, and that will be damage enough :)

We have ruled out the Chef's Tour too, we will do PFTS and one of the lunches in Italy (hopefully lol)

Kirrrby!! :yay: I've missed you! Writing up my current PTR hasn't been the same without you ;) I'm so excited to hear you're going to be going down for the F&W festival. What dates are you going? We're going Oct 23-30. Hope you've been doing well...and can't wait to hear more about your trip!

I didn't know you were doing a PTR! I'll have to head over there. We're going October 3rd-8th. Short trip while school has a break.

There was actually one year where they had Taniya Nayak at the F&W as the HGTV star. I think that was the only time I was interested as I recognized her as Robert Irvine's designer on Restaurant Impossible.

The chef's tour does not sound all that interesting to me either. It would be nice to have some additional info on it like where and who the chef will be. But samples from the kiosks is not worth that price to me.
