I am switching us to a regular room. Just so everyone knows I would not have even considered this if my husband was going to be with us the whole time. To clarify we were only going to be 5 of us 2 out of the 9 nights because my hubby is leaving the majority of the stay. The other 7 nights we will be a party of four.

I don't want any problems on vacation so I'll just move us to a regular room. Thanks for everyone's help and being nice about it.

We certainly understand your predicament and I personally feel for you in this situation. It's just that from what I've read so far there seem to be so many "Gotcha's" with this scenario. Between the park ticket problem for EMH, the Storm Along Bay problem with wrist bands and I'm sure there are security cameras around the resort, it seems like a no win situation.

Sometimes telling it like it is is a hard thing to hear but I think in this situation knowing that they are watching for things like this at the resort will help you plan accordingly and avoid potential problems.

Thank you for understanding when we had to break the bad news. If there is anything else you would like to ask, feel free to come to this thread. We really do want to help everybody have the best stay possible. I've found there are tons of folks who have the experience to answer just about any question so keep 'em coming.

OMG! We had a GV CL room booked.... Wellllllll out our full balcony is SAB, and the lake, and the pirate slide, and Swan, staring at the dance hall! WOW

Well, from one Connecticut Disney fan to another, I hope you have a great time! Awesome news about your upgraded room...enjoy the view!

Masonmj84, missed your post regarding the Tusker House ADR earlier, but we had an 8am Tusker House ADR during one of our trips last year, so I'll share our experience. On the way to AK, the bus either goes direct (seems to happen that way if it's crowded) or it makes just one stop at BWI. The morning of our Tusker ADR, we were out at the bus stop a little before 7am. We thought about taking a cab (that's how we get to non-park breakfast ADRs), but decided to just wait for the bus. When the bus arrived, there weren't many of us out at the BC bus stop, so it stopped at BWI before going to AK. We also thought about getting out to the bus stop at 6:30am to allow the full 90 minutes, but we were fine arriving at the stop a little before 7am. We were there in time for our 8am ADR. Hope that helps!

Question about Run Disney!!! Our middle son is starting in cross country this fall and I used to be a runner. Now, after three kids, I'm sad to report that I just run a 5K very occasionally, but am not running regularly anymore. But given our son's recent interest in running, we're thinking about training together for the 1/2 marathon in 2014 or maybe the ToT 10-miler if they do it in 2013. Amanda and/or other runners, have you stayed at BC/YC over Marathon Weekend? We were at WDW for Marathon weekend last year, but not to run - just to celebrate our youngest son's birthday. We stayed at Poly for that trip and didn't pay much attention to marathon transportation. Is BC/YC convenient for Marathon Weekend?

Question about Run Disney!!! Is BC/YC convenient for Marathon Weekend?

My husband and I did the Marathon in 2010. We decided on a split stay bc we thought it would be easier to be on a monorail hotel for race day. We did BLT Friday thru Monday then moved to BC till the next Monday. SIL came and stayed with our daughter who was 7 then. It was nice for them to be able to see us run by the hotel then hop on the Monorail and see us later down the course.

The time you have to be there is ungodly early. I think it was 430 am. I am sure there were buses but the monorail just seemed easier.

Y&B magic is a wonderful thing.

Yes, it certainly is. :thumbsup2

We had magic twice with TWO upgrades to club level. For this trip, we decided to go ahead and just book it since we loved it so much. I wholeheartedly agree with Teena. Always book what you want, and you will never be disappointed!

For us, a view is a HUGE thing....we love our balcony, and looking out over the Boardwalk is one of my favorite places. We did book a lagoon view this time, so the only request we made was for a full balcony, away from SAB, over the back entrance, if possible. We found SAB to be a bit too noisy for us when we were in our room. I emailed IPO about our requests, they said they would make a note on our reservation, so....fingers crossed!WE check in on SUNDAY!!!!! Literally, I am having trouble sleeping as we are so excited!

Some people are able to 'bend the rules' and not think twice about it, but I'm like you, I just can't do it. I'm sure it would have been nice to have the extra space, tho' - it really doesn't make a lot of sense to me that the BCV 1brs are only 4, whereas the smaller (and usually less expensive) regular rooms are ok for 5, not to mention many of the other DVC 1brs do sleep 5. Have you considered CL? I'm not a CL type, but you would be able to snack and have a small breakfast @ the lounge to replace the kitchen you'd hoped for @ the villa.

Ahhh, after the crazy upgrades, TWO parks, SAB and unpacking I am pooped!
Quick recap of day. I don't have exact times, but I will try my best!
MCO 9:40
ME to Yacht, then BC (us), then BW, then PORiverside.
BC 11:00am
Checked in, CL room ready. Friends were upgraded to CL, at SAB by noon. Prior to SAB we all entered EP just to validate tickets.
At 1:15 I walked over to Soarin and got us all FPs for later. I must've pulled them around 1:30/1:35 and the RT was 6:35 - 7:35.
Back to SAB and my family wanted to go to MK. The other two families stayed behind and we would meet at Chef Mickeys at 5:00.
At MK I walked to space and pulled FPs around 3 with 4:05-5:05 RT. that seemed odd... Thought it would be way further out and was doubting Lines app, but it was right. Walked to meeet DH and boys at Philharmagic. DH then handed me four anytime FPs for ANY ride that expired today. Someone gifted them to him. Bus wanted to ride BTMRR after Philharmagic so we walked over... And it was down! Soon plan B we walked over to space area and just used them for buzz. Then our FP 405 SM time was approaching so we hung around for Ten minutes, road space and met the rest at CM.
Then, after CM we went to EP via monorail and used our FPs! We got there at 7:25. I was freaking out cuz I thought we would be late, but we made it.
What a day!!!!
I am pooped! Beyond belief. But extremely happy. I love it here!

Long day here, Chuck E Cheese and a playdate at our house afterward. Looks like you guys were chatty today ;)

For what it's worth, we were at the BC from Aug 1- Aug 8.

We had no trouble with the busses; we didn't wait more than 10 minutes for any bus (or boat), most of the time much less than that.

In fact, we had only one wait of 20 minutes the whole week: my husband and daughter waited 20 minutes for Splash Mountain (while my son and other daughter and I did Big Thunder twice.)

Glad to know you had no issues with buses. I know it can be a totally hit or miss kind of thing. DS has said more than once he wishes his GAC worked for the buses as well as the rides :lmao:

Oh and for anyone at the YC Sept 15-17 or Oct 19-21 and have just missed the bus, just look for the HUGE black SUV with Florida plates, and Boston Bruins plate holder and I will be happy to take you where you need to go ;)

We got back Sunday and I'm still getting back into "normal" mode. While going through all my pics this one turned opretty cool with the rain in the background so I thought I'd share.

That picture is awesome!!! I take pictures like that all the time, the rain in FL is amazing. It can be raining at my house, but dry across the street at my neighbors.

WOOHOO :cool1: Have a phenomenal time!!!

Awe I want to cry :sad1: Thankfully Teena will be seeing her again soon!!!

Only 36 hours to go until we head over to the Yacht Club from I-Drive. And, I have changed the plan!!!!! - insert head slapping falling backwards smilie - I've dumped Hollywood and Vine, moved Flying Fish and added Yak and Yeti. All this in the hopes of being able to meet the wonderful Teena on Sunday.

DD is slightly traumatised by these changes as the plan is laminated and also comes in handy-sized laminates for the backpack and also Dining Plan laminates.

Did you take your luggage with you on ME or let them take it to the hotel and room for you? If the latter, when did it arrive?

Haha! Meeting Teena will be worth it!

Holy cow! Where did the time go?
It seems like we just booked this trip...and now....8 months (and 27 lbs lost) later....we leave on Friday afternoon!

There feels like there's so much to do and not enough time to do it! Does anyone else feel like that. What sadly happens to me is rather than do what I need to do....I get overwhelmed, sit down and stare at my to-do list. :lmao:

My plan tomorrow is to go swimming at 5:30 A.M., then go to school to meet my new principal (4th grade teacher here) at a meet-and-greet....pick up pet supplies for the week we're gone...and do a full house cleaning, including laundry. If all this can be accomplished before DP gets home around 4, I'll be in good shape. Then on Friday morning, I can pack in peace while DP is at work for a 1/2 day.

Our plan is to have dinner with friends on Friday night, then stay at a hotel semi-close to the airport (we fly out of Manchester, NH). We stay at the hotel the night before the flight because...well....why not get the vacation started as early as possible!

Saturday...we fly to MCO and are staying at the Hyatt at MCO Saturday night. Sunday morning...........we're up early and then on our way (finally) to the BC!:cloud9:

We're thinking that checking out of the MCO Hyatt at about 8:15..then heading over to Magical Express should put us at BC ideally around 9:30 to see Teena! Does this sound about right?

Thanks for reading all this. I figure that if I put it all down...I can use this post as a kind of "To-Do" list. :rolleyes1

How exciting! Sounds like a great plan! Enjoy your BC stay!!!!!

GO Carla!, GO Carla!!! :cheer2: :woohoo: :cheer2:

Long day here, Chuck E Cheese and a playdate at our house afterward.

Man! How do you rate to get Chucky Cheese himself over to your house for a play date?? He's usually pretty tired after a couple hours of dealing with those screaming kids... You probably slipped him a twenty and snuck him out the back door. Tell me, was he a good guest or was he one of those um... rodents that just wanted to eat all your cheese and play video games? I hate play dates like that!

You know it will get even worse when you have to write over the lamination with different colored sharpies because the sharpie that you used to make the first correction is now no longer correct. Then you get to the label stage where you are just sticking blank labels over strategic spots in your laminated plan.

A sure sign of desperation is when you start to cut out spots on the plan and transplant fresh paper on those spots. This then requires a reapplication of a laminated layer, which is 2 layers deep in some spots and one layer deep in others.

The best part comes moments before you must leave for the airport, when after working on revising the plan for the "final" time (instead of packing!) you discover that the printer is out of ink. Usually your family drags you out of the house at this moment, tosses you in the trunk and listens to you scream "The plan!!! The PLAN!!!!" until you pass out from a lack of oxygen.

Your reward for all this is the lack of underwear that you must endure because you were too busy planning and laminating, sharpie-ing and labeling.

Somewhere there is a place for people like us. I think it's name is Walt Disney World.....
