Did I read somewhere that you can get omelettes made to order with the Captain's Grille breakfast buffet?

Yes this is true at the Captain's Grille one morning the Chef was behind the counter and we exchanged goodmornings and he asked me how everything was . I told him it was great he told me that if there was something else I wanted to let my server know and they would see what they could do . He also told me that he could make me an omolette to order . I thought that was great , looking forward to it next year . Enjoy :)

We had reservations at the Poly for January 2013. It would have been our first trip there but among rumors of possible construction during that time we have switched to the Beach Club Villas. And I have to admit- I am more excited about the Beach Club than I was about the Poly- so I guess it was meant to be!

Thank you all for the information and excitement you share- it is greatly appreciated!

Now- if you don't mind I have a couple questions on room location. We will be in a 2 BR Villa- any suggestions on location- what to request? I defintely want a balcony- do all the 2BR's have balconies? And I do remember reading that the rooms facing the road can be a little noisy was that for the non-villa rooms or for the villas rooms as well?
If it matters we are not DVC members and will not be renting points

Thank you thank you thank you!

Whew...just got back at 11:30 PM last night. We stayed at the YC from 8/7/12-8/13/12 water view room 1047 looking across the lake to the Boardwalk.

1-YC location, fantastic to walk 5 min to EPCOT. I could watch the higher fireworks of Illuminations from my patio. Loved having DS so close by boat.

2-Buses to DTD, BB, TL and MK were a pain. I think we just had bad timing and must have missed the bus that we wanted as we waited on average 20 for a bus to come and then 20 min to get to our destination. Sometimes we stopped only at the Beach club and then off to our destination, but sometimes we stopped at Swan, then Dolphin then the Boardwalk. This just made for long transportation times.

3-SAB, loved it!! The pool was fantastic. Loved the sandy bottom, hot tubs and play areas. The teens were in heaven and spent a lot of time there. Each member of our party was asked to present her room key and were given a different colored wristband every day. Chairs were hard to come by in the afternoon, but I found the crowds to be tolerable there

4-room. We asked for, in this order, 1st floor-close to the lobby-daybed. We got a lovely 1st floor room with a large day bed....but our room was very far from the lobby and pool. Made for quite a hike to and from, but we were glad for the 1st floor and daybed. Awesome view, watched Illuminations from our patio every night that we weren't at EPCOT. Fun to see the Boardwalk. Our fridge did not work, the door would not shut. Asked for a new one which did not seem to keep anything cold. Luckily we brought a collapsible cooler, which worked great.

5-Mousekeeping- was so strange this time. Our room had a day bed, so we asked for an extra duvet/comforter our 1st night. it was delivered no problem. The next day, mousekeeping took the extra duvet and also our other beds duvets too....3 calls later a very nice Mousekeeper brought us three duvet covers, only to have the extra one take the next day as well. 1st day we had no toiletries, so I called and got a huge bad delivered, so nice! One morning, Mousekeeping came at 9AM, another day came at 4:30...so we did not get a full service. I just had them take our dirty towels and get clean towels.

6-Food at YC, Hurricane Hannah's was good. I loved the Sunken Treasure drink. Easy to refill our mugs there

7-Cape May Buffet was our favorite eatery of the entire trip. We stuffed ourselves on crab legs, mussels and deserts....so much fun

8-Laundry...hate doing laundry on vaca, but had to do it. The laundry was just down the hallway. $2.00 per wash and dry cycle.

Any questions, please ask. We had a great trip and really liked YC

I think I posted that. My step dad was able to order an omelet as part of his buffet. IN fact on menu the make your own omelet says choose one meat, one veggie and one cheese but they told him he could have any of the ingredtients that he wanted.

We were also told that any made to order eggs could be ordered as part of the buffet.

Thanks for all the information on the villas. Can you still get room service in the villas? Also how long would you say the walk is from the villas to SAB? Thanks again!

I am pretty sure there is a menu for room service at the Villas, though we have never ordered anything. The walk is not bad at all. I'd say it depends on your actual room location, but to go from the front entrance of the villas to Hurricane Hanna's (by the kiddie pool) takes our family about 3 minutes - not long at all.

I think location depends on your preference. Do you like lower levels or higher levels? You can request, (though it's not a guarantee), a pool view, woods view or courtyard view. Some high woods view rooms offer a view of the highest Illuminations fireworks. Some people say road noise can be an issue for those rooms closer to the road, but I have heard if you request a higher floor it is less of an issue. I have not had a room facing the road, so I can't confirm that for you. I am not positive, but I think all rooms have a balcony or patio. Hope that helps.

Hmmm.... is LOBSTER considered a MEAT!?

"Yes chef, I'll have the Lobster Omelet, with extra lobster, hold the egg, the veggie and the cheese. Oh, and can I have that with a side of melted butter?"

:rotfl: Um, nice try. The ingredients were listed in the menu and I don't remember lobster, but I say it never hurts to try.

YUM!!!! I'm so glad I live in New England!

I currently have us booked in a one bedroom villa but I am wondering now if it will be a problem as I don't want to break any rules and we have never stayed at the BC we usually stay at the GF that sleeps 5.

Here is my issue and concern. My husband is flying to Orlando with us and we arrive Thursday evening. He is then leaving the next morning to drive up to Alabama for a football game. He loves going to his college football games and I love Disney so it works out great. Now here is my question I really want to stay in the Villa's for the extra space but my husband will be with us for one night on each end of the trip, we all have AP's so tickets aren't an issue. My youngest is 4 and still sleeps with us so the layout of the villa works better for us too. I am not trying to break any rules which is why I am asking if it will be a problem. If my husband goes over to SAB with us and we have room keys for everyone but the youngest, will they really want me to show a room key for her?? Again if you think this will be one big problem I will switch us to a regular room I was just hoping to have the kitchen and extra space since I would be alone with me girls the majority of the trip.

I really appreciate your thoughts.

That is exactly how I would order it too:lmao:

Hey, remember me???

I have added pictures from Lily's visit to EPCOT today to the live report.

Still have another post or two to go.

Can anyone that has stayed at the BCV in a pool and/or courtyard view studio/villa share what you liked/disliked about these views? Or, better yet, has anyone stayed in both that can compare the two? Which is "prettier"? More peaceful?

We would be happy with either, but I am having a tough time deciding which to request. Is the courtyard area between the BC and BCV at all lit up at night the way the pool area is? We will be in a studio if that makes any difference.

Thanks! :)

If my husband goes over to SAB with us and we have room keys for everyone but the youngest, will they really want me to show a room key for her??

Yes they will, sorry about that.

But maybe you can use the quiet pools on those two days and leave SAB for the days he is not there, or was it the four year old that wasn't going to be registered?

Just checked in for our 6:30am SW flight tomorrow. I will never figure out the early bird check in.

I just wanted to point out that the whole purpose of early bird check-in, is so you don't have to log in at 24 hrs before you flight to get your A seat boarding pass. Hope you were up at 6:30 in the morning as part of your usual schedule and not just for that reason.

I was thinking I wouldn't register my four year old would they really make us show a room key for her? I guess if they did we could just do what you said and use the quiet pool on those days.
