Boy, 11 p.m. would work better for our night owls. LOL Kids complained that 10 was too early. :rotfl2:

Work has been hellish the last little while (not the actual job, just the "running the business" side of it. Starting to HATE that part) and I am thinking more and more about my happy place!!

Getting excited for our arrival in just 3 days!!!

As a public service announcement to my fellow BC/YC fans ...

Didn't get that ADR you want?? Never, never give up looking!! We don't make many dining plans, but there were a couple that I wanted and have been trying for months to get.

We're staying CL, but these wishlist items I kept to myself - they're not going to obsessively check every few hours.

Two days ago I was able to get our wish of walking down an empty Main Street for those priceless pics with an 8:15 ADR for breakfast at Crystal Palace.

Yesterday morning, I got the holy grail of a 7:45 table for 4 at Rose & Crown - AND it's an EMH night. :worship:

Congrats!! :cool1: I always tell people to keep checking, checking, checking! Perhaps I've just been really lucky, but I've always managed to finally get an elusive high-demand ADR just by being very diligent. There's one that I've been trying to get for a few months, and I only have two weeks left of trying... wish me luck ;)

Great thanks, my kids always stay up super late while we are at Disney and love to swim late. Are the regular pools open 24 hours?? We have never stayed at the BC/YC we usually stay at the GF and the kids love the big pool and being so close to MK but with all the construction going on there I have decided to try somewhere new.

I have the BC villa booked right now, any feedback on those? How far away are those from SAB, I looked at the map but couldn't really tell.

Thanks so much, I always get nervous about staying somewhere new but the extra space will be nice.

Hoping you guys can help steer me in the right direction. We have dinner reservations at Captain's Grill on Monday, August 20th. We are driving over from the SW area as this is NOT a Disney vacation. I understand that I can bring my reservation confirmation and get 3 hours of complimentary parking at YC while we have dinner. After dinner, we'd like to explore the whole Epcot resort/Boardwalk area a little (we've never been over there before) and really want to do so because we are planning a December 2013 trip and are considering at stay at either BC or the Dolphin. I suspect DD might want to play a round of mini golf at Fantasia Gardens too.

So I guess my question is, what happens if I return a little after my 3 hour "grace period parking". Would I be better off just driving over to Fantasia Gardens if we decide to play?

I'm not at all trying to skirt the system, just really don't want to be towed if that's what happens ;)

TIA.

Thanks. And your ticker title made me LOL. My best friend flew down yesterday for their first ever summer trip to WDW (the usually go around Thanksgiving and/or Halloween) and she texted me last night and said her DH said NEVER AGAIN :scared1:

I need some Y&BC good vibes, friends! When Dh & I booked this trip back at the beginning of the year (we were booked at CSR), we said we'd plan this trip and go...as long as we both still had our jobs (both have been a bit unsteady this year). Then, when I convinced him to switch over to BC after my brief visit their with my sis in June, we again said we'd do it...as long as we both still had our jobs. You can tell where I'm going with this, right?

I just found out my place of employment will be closing, and I'll be out of work in a few months. :faint: We're only two weeks away from BC!!

I did the math over and over, and tried to see how much $ I could recoup if I cancelled the trip. After much deliberation, we have decided that we're going. Between the money we'd lose out on (mostly airfare), and the crushing blow it would be to all three of us, we decided it wasn't worth it to cancel. Instead, we're committed to having the BEST damn vacation ever- because who knows when/if we'll ever be back! :scared:

On with the final stages of planning!

Yes. The 'quiet pools' are open 24hrs.

Which villa do you have? Studio, 1BR or 2BR? How big is your family?

Wow. This life can be tough can't it KJay. Two weeks out makes it really tough. Enough time to think about it without actually leaving. Sounds like you've run the numbers of the difference between BC and the others so go enjoy. I've eaten many cereal breakfast and PBJ sandwiches at WDW and enjoyed.

Testing to see if I can post photos from Flickr here. Family photo from our vacation last summer to London, Holland and Sweden. Say hi if you see us at DW!

I firmly believe in the "when one door closes, another opens " mantra. Hubby lost his job at end of 2008 and we struggled for a while. But we got thru it and he is now in an even better position with so much more potential. Enjoy your trip and just believe that better things lie ahead.

We have a one bedroom booked right now for the four of us. How are those??

We stayed in a one bedroom villa once, it was nice and we were lucky enough to have a view of illuminations high fireworks. :)

Wow! have not been on the boards in almost a week and BAM , I am far behind :rotfl2:

DH and I returned Monday night from a 3 night stay at BC 8/3-8-6. We had added a day to check out on 8/7 but an emergency with one of our dogs so we packed up early and went home.

Anyway, here is a little review for you. We requested a full balcony and king room hoping to get 2573 like last time but no kings available with balcony so we had a 2 queen room 4542. The room was fine just not as spacious as the king room and the room is pretty far away from everything. On the plus we were steps away from the stairwell that leads to that back pathway steps away from Epcot:thumbsup2 We also enjoyed our balcony in the mornings, evenings and during the afternoon rain.

We went mainly for time at SAB and relaxation. We arrived Friday morning and checked in at 10:30 and our room was ready. We went right down to SAB and relaxed until about 3:30 when the rain came. It did not last long. We went to the room showered and then wandered around Epcot. That night we walked around the Boardwalk and over to DHS just to wander around.

Sat. We did a.m EMH at DHS and rode TSM and got a fastpass for later. We also rode RR and DH got a coffee mug at the StarWars store. We then headed to SAB around 10:30 where we hung out until the rain came. It was funny because it came and we hung around for a while waiting for it to end. We thought it was over and went back into SAB grabbed new towels and chairs and set up camp again.. We just entered the pool when the skies just opened up. DH ran to rescue our phone and books. I was drenched. Back to the room to shower and then we had coffee on the balcony. It rained for a couple hours but it was no big deal. We relaxed, explored the resort, stopped by the Crew Cup lounge and watched some Olympic coverage. When they rain stopped we headed to France and grabbed dinner at the bakery. Brie and turkey on a baguette ::yes:: After dinner we did some shopping and then we headed to SAB for a night swim. This was awesome. SAB was so empty and we could just in the pool and relax.

Sunday it was all about SAB. Had Breakfast at Captain's Grill and it was fantastic. I highly recommend:) We chilled all day at SAB until the rain. What a fantastic day:lovestruc While going to dinner we got a call from my sister that our dog was sick, lethargic and not really doing anything. WE told her to take her to the ER vet. My sister was in a panic. DH and I decided to try to change our flight and cancel our Monday night reservation which we did. Changing the flights was the hardest and we did not know until Monday about 2pm that we were leaving at 3:30ish for MCO. We were at SAB when were finally able to get seats on the flight. We had half packed so we went back to the room finished packing, rushed around trying to get everything finalized, got a voucher for ME and were off. Disney was great working with us and our changes. They did everything they could to help us.

We were sad to leave but our dogs are our children so we were not going to sit at a pool with a sick dog at home. Apparently our dog went on a hunger/water strike while we were gone. She spent a couple nights at the doggy hospital getting IV fluids. We brought her home Tuesday and have spent the last few days monitoring her and getting her healthy again. She is almost back to her normal self again. The cooler temps are helping.

All in all we had a fantastic last minute trip. We were unable to meet Princess Lily because we had to leave Monday but otherwise everything was awesome. I love SAB and really want to make my backyard into a miny version of this complete with HH and Rocky the pool server:lmao:

So sorry to hear about the dog being sick I know how you feel :worried: My sons dogs are part of the family to . Hope he/she is back to normal quickly.
On the plus side you did manage to miss a couple of the hottest days at home I'm sure the dogs would have loved to be with you at SAB . :lmao:
and as for a smaller version of SAB it would be nice but then where would you go this place is a little slice of heaven .::yes::you need a place to decompress and I can not think of a better place to go then the Y/B Club and spend lazy days at SAB and see all the great people and friends that were made along the way .

How close are they to SAB?? I noticed you have stayed at the GF, how did you think it compared? Thanks!

One bedroom is great for a family of four. Gives you privacy plus room. One disadvantage is the distance from SAB. You have to go through the BC to get there. But it is a familiar and customary sight of families going back and forth. On the other hand the advantage is that the quiet pool is right there at you. So your late night swims will be right outside the door.

I think the GF is more luxurious , the villas are more of a condo feel. Especially if you rent points and don't have daily maid service. Our villa was quite a long walk down a very long hallway. It always felt like a chore to go anywhere. So if you do the villa I highly recommend having groceries delivered so you can utilize your full kitchen. That way you aren't far from drinks and snacks.
