2012 Beach and Yacht FAQ ~ March, April and May ~Do Not Post Here-Old Thread

Thanks pixarmom! Love the trio of room pics. Boy there sure are similar when you put it that way! Question on BC - is that wooden beadboard behind the beds or a white wall with crown midway up for the illusion? just curious

Hey Clare! Oh no lounge isn't small I don't think at all. BWI had a better layout of tables in my opinion, seating seemed better but YC lounge not small to me at all. We go at resort capacity in June and NEVER had a problem with a table at 8 am etc...

Tara, glad relief is on the way. :goodvibes

We've only had one short wonderful YC club stay the first week of Dec a couple years ago. While the lounge is smaller than the others we've stayed (Polynesian, GF both levels and AKL), we found a table without any problem for breakfast. We were there for an unusually rainy weekend so I would guess the lounge was more crowded than usual and it was still not a problem. After breakfast, it was not crowded at all Very peaceful. Enjoy!

It really depends on the day, the time you go in etc. No real rhyme or reason as to when its full and when its not. But generally, it's busiest between 7:30am to 9am, in our experience.

However, our room last year was 2 away from the lounge, with a good sized balcony overlooking the gazebo. We would fill our plates and go back to the room to eat breakfast on our balcony most days, table availability or not.

Thanks everyone :thumbsup2

We stay in a waterview room every time we stay @ YC. We have stayed there at least a dozen times already, probably more. We have always had the sliding glass door onto a full balcony. We have had rooms on every floor except the first floor.

pixarmom stated: Hi jcondrad! I talked to an SAB lifeguard shortly after they took the playground down and replaced it with the additional loungers. I don't know what the official plans are, but that CM reported that the playground was down permanently to make more space for lounge chairs.

Is it safe to say the closest is at the BW? (Just looking for extra ways to entertain Nemo.)

And where is Marlton Mom? I miss you!!!!
Rumor has it that she is in Brazil with her namesake BC/YC POOL NOODLES eating chocolate croissants. Hopefully she will be successful in her tryout for the Brazilian cheerleading team.

We'll be rooting for her!!!!!

Thanks! That's entirely consistent with what I was able to observe from the outside, and I think it might factor into our split stay decision for next year. We initially planned to try POR AB, but after my recent POFQ stay (which was great for a moderate, just reminded me of why we like deluxe) we are replacing that night with something else. YC is in the running, and those balconies and doors are part of the reason!

Hi Todd and Toni! We also stayed at both Dolphin and BWI last year and our 5-year-old used both of those playgrounds. I think we all prefer the playground at Dolphin - nice equipment, beautiful view, more open space surrounding it.

Here's the Dolphin playground:

I know it's like a real wooden beadboard, but I can't remember whether it's actually attached to the bed. I can say that it looks quite nice and doesn't give you the sense that it's fake.

Our older boys (they didn't stay at YC with us) saw the trio of photos and that really put YC in the running for our multi-split stay next year. On one hand, it seems silly to stay at both in one visit, but nobody is willing to give up BC, so maybe both!

pixarmom - your photos are brill. Thank you so much for sharing.

Love the sliding doors in your room. I've never noticed them before, do all rooms have them or just a select few?

We are getting married at the Yacht Club Gazebo in August so I will be watching for more pictures of those cranes :listen:

OOOOH! - You will be getting married while we are there! I'll be sure to watch out for a wedding!

Can anyone tell me if the two deluxe rooms over Cape May Cafe are more convenient to the CL lounge than the four deluxe rooms closer to Epcot?

thanks,

Does Cape May breakfast offer Soy, Coconut or Almond milk for cereal as an option other than milk??

What type of breakfast items are in the Marketplace? And do they offer cereal and "other Milk types" also?

TIA

Natebenma ~ sorry to make you revise, but I actually changed our reservation, so you can take us off the Be Our Guest list. Thanks!!! We will be at Beach Club eventually for sure!!!

As all of the deluxe rooms require you to take the main elevator to the 5th floor (the location of the CL lounge), I think these two rooms have a slight edge in proximity to the elevators. Although, both locations are down the hall(s) from the elevators. There is one of these rooms on the 3rd floor and one on the 4th floor above Cape May.

Yes Nigel Channing must be someone in disguise. :rolleyes1 Wow someone really has too much time on their hands & a strange obsession with hating BC.

I did post about my great BC CL stay but it's not showing up on All Ears yet, I'm hoping there's just a delay getting it up.

Well Done Tara too! So nice to read the last, now several, positive reviews! Check it out :thumbsup2

What?!??!? But you were my split-stay-in-reverse buddy LOL!!! I see you're now at WL...what made you change your mind if I may ask? I've never stayed at WL but DS14 would love to.

I know!!! Its just that WL is a much better "fit" for my family, and more in tune with the way we do Disney. We are pretty commando and never even considered going deluxe for this reason, but because it's our 10 year anniversary, we decided to give it a go...at WL....but then it just ballooned to BC, then POLY, then POLY/BC split...with several changes back to WL in between...

But I just feel that WL serves all of our needs without paying for "extras" that we wouldn't take advantage of...if that makes sense.

I think someone has been banned from All Ears as well....notice the 2 scathing reviews have been removed...

To the person that asked about the 2 Deluxe CL rooms above Cape May - I agree with HockeyMomR - I think they would be a tad closer to the lounge than the 4 over by the quiet pool. You would still need to find an elevator though to travel to the 5th floor to the lounge. The 4 by the quiet pool are in an area where there is no 5th floor, so you have to walk through hallways back towards the lobby - then take the main lobby elevators to the 5th floor. That's what worked for us anyway, maybe there was a shorter route that we just never found!

Sounds great, and I can't wait to hear all about it!

Thank you so much!
Does anyone know if BC CL send an automatic response email when you email IPO? I sent an email to them yesterday and didn't get anything in response.

I just emailed them this afternoon and I got the auto response and then the actual response about 10 minutes later. You might want to check spam or resend it since it sounds like something didn't go through (I even got an auto reply to my response back to them)
