2012 Beach and Yacht FAQ ~ March, April and May ~Do Not Post Here-Old Thread

See you there!!! We will be the really excited ones.. Lol.. If you see a 40 year old woman wearing flowers or Disney characters in her hair.. Then.. You will have found me.. Lol

The image of you with a character on your head is quite hilarious. :rotfl:

MM is this the buddy I was supposed to be watching out for? LOL!! I only found it on our last day after checking out - it was on the 1st floor down by the sinlge elevator/quiet pool area. We had been on floor 2 so we had never gone down to floor one!

And Dee - we never did the lazy river to time it!

Am I going to have to go down there and do it myself???

Thanks for the great reports and pictures!

Yep!, That's my girl!!! I'm naming her Wanda!

~MM

:lmao::lmao::lmao:

Best. Movie. Ever!

I have 6 characters.. Sometimes I will wear multiple at once... Lol.. I will try and find a picture.. They are adorable.. ( umm for an 8 year old)

I'm just picturing life sized characters sitting on your head, which is why I found it so amusing. (And I really needed amusing right then.)

I just have to chime in that we'll be at the BC for our FIRST STAY on June 8th and Im so excited I can HARDLY STAND IT!!!!

All of these pictures and great stories..and Teena!!

I'm ready to go NOW!!!

:jumping1::jumping1:

We'll be staying at the BC for the first time starting 6/7 -- I'm beyond excited, too!

TaraPA - Thanks for the pics of the room and the pool.

Anyone ever use BC room service?

If so, how was it?

Thanks!!

P.S. Check out that ticker....................it's getting CLOSER

I've used YC, which I believe is shared w/ BC anyway....

We had breakfast delivered one morning and the food was above average for room service food. Hot, well presented, and while expensive (what room service isn't??) it seemed "worth" it to us.

The fact that the plates weren't picked up outside for the greater part of the day.....well, we can't all be perfect.:rotfl:

I've also used YC and also for breakfast. Our experience was also good. It did take about 30 minutes to arrive, which we were told would be the case. The food was good. They serve it very nicely. Put white linens on the table, set up with a flower and condiments. The pot of coffee is pretty big. Hot chocolate is just a Hot pot of water, and two hot chocolate envelopes, but they did send little marshmellows in a small ramekin. I have noticed that you have to call room service to have them pick up the tray after done, otherwise it just sits outside. Overall, room service for breakfast is not a compelling value, but it's nice if you want to take a litle longer getting ready. We ordered it on the departure day, so we could finish packing while the kids ate.

Hi friends! :) I need a sympathetic ear. Our October YC trip is hanging on by a thread. The cost of flying/driving is making it a tight fit for our budget. It hurts but Disney is not our top priority. We need to make sure we can travel to see family at Thanksgiving and Christmas and DW has a best friend who is getting married and we'll need to get her there. On top of all that DW is saying that she wants to wait awhile to go back to Disney. She thinks going so often is making it lose its magic. :confused3

The trip is not out of the question but it's not looking good. I'm holding on to my ticker for now, though. I've wanted to stay at BC or YC for a long time now.

Okay, venting over. I knew y'all would understand. :)

On the plus side, DSIL threw out the possibility of doing family Christmas at Disney this year but I'm not sure how serious she was about it. I don't think I could convince them to do YC but at least it would be another Disney trip. Also, if our October trip doesn't happen I think I'll save up for an October 2013 trip and make it CL at BC or YC. Plus, by then the Fantasyland expansion should be complete!

Sorry to hear that you may have to change the plans for your trip. :grouphug:

Hope things work out for you and know that you have to do what's right for your family. If you do have to postpone or change the plans, Disney, and the Beach Club and Yacht Club will be there when you are ready.

I will give you a sympathetic ear. I look forward to all my WDW trips and would need sympathy if I had to postpone one. If you can't swing this trip, at least you will plan another. I hope you get back to WDW sooner than later.

This is going to be our first trip in 5 years. It just wasn't financially feasible until now. While we never had to cancel/postpone, I feel your pain. We knew on our 2007 trip that we'd be waiting until 2012 before we could go again. And I started planning early last year, so it's been a long planning process.

It's never fun to have to wait, but hopefully, if you do have to postpone, you'll be able to enjoy all the other things you have planned so that you almost won't miss it this year.

This may be somewhere in this thread or one of the past ones, but I didn't find it and search doesn't seem to be working too well.

According to the first page of this thread there are only 2 deluxe club level rooms at the YC. Does anyone know if they both have a full balcony?

When we were at OKW last month we booked a 3 night "bounceback" stay in August after a cruise on the Dream and I'm thinking of changing to a deluxe room, if I can keep the discount.

Thanks.

Ed

Hi Ed-

Your search function may not be faulty. In the 3 years I have been involved in this thread, I haven't seen much discussed about the YC deluxe rooms.

Any info on page 1 was carried over from the thread when I took it over.

Maybe someone who has some expert knowledge about the two resorts can comment when she returns from work this evening or tomorrow morning.

Meanwhile- is there anyone out there who has stayed in a YC deluxe room? What room number? Any descriptions about the room or location? Better yet- pictures???

Thanks!

Dee

I have been able to find out that there are two deluxe rooms at the Yacht Club, Rooms 3201 and 4201. Both rooms have a view of Stormalong Bay. Although they are not located on the 5th floor, guests in these rooms do have access to the YC Concierge Lounge.

Here is a very old thread discussing these rooms. I’m not sure how much of the information is still accurate. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1897027

I haven’t seen any reports or pictures from guests who have stayed there recently. If you have stayed in one of these rooms and you are willing to share some photos, I’d love to add them onto the forum.

Thanks!

Dee

We will be there on Oct 8-9. Do you think there will be any Halloween decorations up at BC? Trying to decide if I want to take 15 &16 yo boys to MNSSHP. What do you think?

I'm here at SAB right now if anyone has any questions. All CM's saying April 9th still the closing date for repairs.

I get the feeling that the start date is pretty much set, but as with any repairs, nobody really knows the re-open - which is certainly what most people would love to know.

Have a fantastic time!!!

Could someone please clarify if all of the club level garden-view rooms at the Beach Club have a full balcony? I seem to remember reading that somewhere, maybe here, but I cannot remember the source for sure.

I'm pretty sure the answer to this is no, but I will ask just in case.

Can you order food from Beaches n Cream to eat at the pool? I think we'll have lunch here on our pool day, but if it's super busy, we would like to sit down in the the pool area and eat. I would imagine that BnC is like other TS - you have to be seated to order, but I'm wondering if they are more flexible since they are pool front. Also, is there ever any waitress service at SAB (food and/or drinks)?

Our back up plan is Hurricane Hannah, but since we're on the DxDP, we would get apps at BnC, more choices, and better desserts, basically for the price of the tip.

Yeah..... I could tell. You just weren't hairy enough.....

"Hairy" is not an adjective I normally think of when it comes to Brazilians.

I'm a lurker in this thread. And I don't really have too much interest in the social aspects of it (not that I have any problem with those of you who do, it's just not my personality). But I do want to express my appreciation for all the great info that is here. And it's especially nice to have an actual CM active here.

So while you may never hear from me again, know that there's at least one lurker (and probably many more) who find your information valuable. You'll make my December trip that much better.

Hmmmm...good point...Brazilians have become synonymous with "hairless" haven't they now... :rotfl2:
