2012 Beach and Yacht FAQ ~ March, April and May ~Do Not Post Here-Old Thread

Just wondering where about that secret entrance door 1501 is located? I have been looking for a beach club map with room numbers, but I can't seem to find one. Is there one? Thanks

1501 is on the first floor as far away from the lobby as possible. Just start walking and don't stop and you'll get to the secret entrance door located next to 1501.

Good news: I just returned from my six month check-up at the Mayo Clinic and I'm good to go until the Fall. I was sweating today big time and now I can really enjoy this upcoming trip to Jeanne's! My Bob is so wonderful to drive me all the way up there and back in one day!

Yay for Teena! :cool1:

Congratulations, so good to hear you are in great shape.

Thanks, Teena (and Nanette!) Our friends just stayed at BC (the ones who were upgraded to a BC 2-bd suite after booking BWI deluxe) and they were wondering if it was the same Pete that we know from BWI.

I think Jeanne is actually the most excited. Somebody is coming to help her in the classroom and get caught up on grading all the papers!!

Hurry up Tuesday!

Hi everyone! I am new to the DISboards and just came across this thread and it is fantastic. It's going to take awhile to get through all of the posts but I love all of the tips and info being exchanged.

We will be staying at BC from Aug.5-11 and the entire family cannot wait. This will be our second stay here.....we have worked our way up through the different resort levels over the years!:thumbsup2 BC is, by far, our favorite place to stay. My DD(15) and DS(13) love Epcot and being that close is amazing! And SAB is a great place to unwind after a day at the parks.

Well, just wanted to say hi and thank everyone for all of their contibutions!! I'm looking forward to getting through all of the posts.:surfweb:

So, I guess this is day three done. I feel like I've been here forever but yet time is flying. Makes no sense, I know!!! :rotfl:

Supper last night was Tutto Italia. The food was OK (DH did the best with the ordering) but the service was just unbelievable. It was like we had three people waiting only on us at all times! Afterwards, we walked down with the other family to try to get on Soarin' like we did the night before. Walked straight through again and got in the front row. I love riding this one barefoot so we all took off our shoes. I had the golf ball with me, and it was a huge hit!!! The other family was out of their minds - loved it. Then the CMs let us just stay in our seats and ride again!! Unreal. Anyone else ever able to do that?

We had Cape May breakfast this morning which was awesome. Unfortunately I had the worst night sleep I can recall last night (probably 1-2 hours only the whole night! Don't ask why - I couldn't tell you) and I didn't enjoy it as much as I should have. But the Mickey waffles were to die for! :) Today was supposed to be a rest day but the kids were having none of it.

Sorry, went up to change something and couldn't get back to the bottom of my post. Stupid iPad! :rotfl2:

After breakfast we went over to the villas and saw the one bedroom suite that the other family had. It was amazing! The balcony was huge, and it overlooked the quiet pool. The room was enormous. I loved the bathroom being in sections. It wouldn't work for us since our kids refuse to sleep in the same bed and I'll be damned if I'm sleeping on a sofa bed! LOL. Then we went to Typhoon Lagoon. The bus was SO FREAKIN SLOW. I think we The ride home was worse... We waited forever for a bus and because it was after 4:30 the bus took us to DDT and we had to wait forever again for another bus! For example, at least two busses came by for Saratoga Springs before any for BC. The kids were tired and thirsty and we had no cash for the vending machines... :(. Plus, both kids got really scraped up in the wave pool - DD gor huge road rash across her lower back. But they loved the shark tank and we did a bunch of the slides.

Dinner tonight at Captain's Grill and it was delicious. The concierge staff got us the last minute reservation - awesome service!!!

Also, I was concerned about the WiFi after reading so many bad reviews, but it's fine! I am streaming Netflix no problem. Loving the American selections too!!!

Loving it here - CP reservation for 8 tomorrow so we'll see how the kids deal!!!

Wow. You're typing all this on an Ipad. I'm even more impessed (and greatful).

Loving the report and hoping you get your rest tonight :cloud9:. Thanks again!

We have a standard view club level room booked at the Beach Club and as I am still not 100% sure of my choice, I was pricing rooms on Disney.com, and saw I could upgrade to garden view club level at BC for like $28 more for the whole week, so I am thinking no brainier here. But as I looked at the description of the room options, it never mentions a day bed. It says one queen bed or two queen beds. I really need the day bed as my DS16 and DD20 are not going to share a bed. Does anyone know if there are day beds in the Garden View CL rooms at BC?

We may now be doing a split stay and start on may 19 instead of June 15.

Looking at the swan for three night then the yacht club for four nights. Not much time left to make the changes.

Lol.

Hello,

Could you kindly add me to the Be Our Guest List ?

On page one of this thread Dee has a link to an old DisZone map of the layout. http://www.disneyzone.net/bcresort.htm It is old, room catagories do not apply anymore, but it should help.

Welcome and be sure to spend time on page one of the thread for great information on the thread. If you want to look at the layout of the area, someone posted this website earlier. It will let your kids know how close they really are to Epcot. http://www.bing.com/maps/?v=2&cp=nq...ty=b&ss=ypid.YN184x401291151~pg.1&form=LMLTCC

Thanks a lot for taking the time to peck away at that Ipad to keep us all up to date. Have you gotten the layout of the BC down so that you are getting around better? Enjoy the few days you have left. Be sure to book that bounceback offer so you can start planning your next trip!

I always post this link with a very strong disclaimer:

It is a very old map of the layout of the Beach Club resort. The room view categories are not accurate- all rooms have been recently categorized for standard, garden and water view and the ones listed on this map only show water and standard-

Also, the lounge does not appear on this map (the current location of the lounge is where it says ICE on the 5th floor)

:welcome: new friends!

Hi everyone ,
We will be at BC next weekend 5/11-5/13. Should be at SAB Saturday afternoon and probably all day Sunday. Anyone else planning on hanging around the pool these days? My kids love meeting new friends at SAB!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest List on Page 1. :cool1:

hello. i have been reading threw pages of this thread and looking at the map of the beach club. i am think of booking a garden view room. i was going to request, ground floor near volleyball court. would this location be convient to the marketplace? and is the market place on the ground floor? Another questions, is there any reason to be close to the lobby ,besides to go eat at cape may? we like to be able to walk from the pool to our room without having to go threw the whole hotel. is this possible with a ground flloor room ?thanks in advance!!!!

Let us know if you book a trip to the Beach Club. We'll be waiting. :)

We are staying in a 2BR at the Beach Club Villas in Sept. :yay:

I have seen various discussions regarding room location requests for the Beach Club, but how about the Villas? Does anyone have any suggestions?

For instance, is there any standard terminology to describe the layout of the resort, and the 3 different "wings"? I'm just not sure how to specifically explain our room request, KWIM?

TIA!:flower3:

If you would like us to add your dates to the list, post them here. :yay:

Sorry, I don't have much knowledge of the villas, but hopefully some of the recent posts and maps are helpful.

Beach Club Concierge- SV, GV, WV

Since we can't get a YC CL Garden View with our discount, I am pondering switching to BC. Do the BC CL - Garden Views have full balconies?

Contemplating a switch of room categories for our trip in three weeks. We've always done water view except one time, and that one time we did standard. Our standard view actually had of a rooftop, but just beyond it was the fountain just by the walkway to the parking lot and you could see SE, as well. Gorgeous lit up at night!!

As of now, we're CL SV. Not sure if I'd just switch to GV or try to get WV. Just thinking out loud to some people who understand. ;)

We have a standard view club level room booked at the Beach Club and as I am still not 100% sure of my choice, I was pricing rooms on Disney.com, and saw I could upgrade to garden view club level at BC for like $28 more for the whole week, so I am thinking no brainier here. A few of you are trying to decide on a view category at the BC club level. According to my notes (unless any rooms have been recategorized), all of the BC GV CL rooms have full balconies, but only 1 has a daybed.

So if a daybed is an important request, you should probably stick with a different view category.

@PolyndianPrincessJes- we had a standard view CL room at the BC that had views of both Illuminations and the MK fireworks.

quick ? slightly off topic : we will be at the beach club villas may 15th - may 22nd. We are traveling with a 2 year old his birthday is may 21st he will turn 3 that day. My ? is as far as fastpasses go I know his admission in the park is free but will it shoot out a fastpass for him to ride? How does this work? Do you need one for 2 and under?

Feckless- loving your live reports!!

LMO429- FPs not needed for those that are 2 and under since there isn't a ticket. Don't worry that he will turn 3 on the trip!

Only one has a daybed. Keep in mind that unless you are a party of five, a daybed is not guaranteed. You can request one but there is no guarantee you will get one. The rooms on the fifth floor are funny. Some just won't hold a rollaway bed either because of the way they are set up. You can always request and get a rollaway bed but that doesn't mean some rooms will be set up to fit one in it comfortably. There are only 9 club level garden view rooms to begin with.
