2012 Beach and Yacht FAQ ~ March, April and May ~Do Not Post Here-Old Thread

Thanks Teena!!!

Your little getaway is getting closer! who's more excited you.......or the little princess??

Also.....Why have I never used the solarium? I think one of those comfy chairs has my name on it for coffee in the morning!!

Here's a confession.

I have never been in the Solarium (well, except in Flat Dee form, during the two DIS meets)

I didn't know it existed until after my last stay at the Beach Club!

DeeThat makes me feel a WHOLE lot better!!!

We usually are so "Commando" in the morning during our visits, that we forget to relax .

this year, since we are skipping EMH mornings (can you still read the tension in my words about this choice :scared1:), I hope to get up, get dressed, head to gym, then have a bit of coffee and breakfast before heading out!!

Will this actually work?? Probably all but the gym, but at least it Sounds good.

Looks like we will miss each other by just a few days.

Can anyone tell me on what floor is club level for both the Beach & Yacht club? Thanks

Even if one is assigned to you now, that doesn't mean it won't change a few times before you get there for a number of reasons, one being if you get there early in the morning, they try really hard to get you into a room that is ready. Your best bet is to go to the regular check-in line and when they start checking you in, just say you really really want a full balcony and you are willing to wait until later in the day to get your request. Otherwise, they could very well move you into a room without a full balcony if one is ready when you get there. There's a huge push to get guests in "ready" rooms even if it does not mean your requests. Just be firm and tell them if you are willing to wait for a room that does meet your requests.

Thanks Teena! We will be checking in pretty early, around 10 probably, but I already did online check in!! Hope that wasn't a mistake! I guess if we don't get a full balcony I will just ask for one and say I don't mind waiting! :)

Hi everyone ,
We will be at BC next weekend 5/11-5/13. Should be at SAB Saturday afternoon and probably all day Sunday. Anyone else planning on hanging around the pool these days? My kids love meeting new friends at SAB!

Hi everyone

My husband and I are staying at the yacht club this month. We are hoping to have local friends meet up with us one night at the resort. I was wondering if anyone knew if this would be a problem and/ or if there would be a parking time limit for them etc.?
Thanks

Like Teena said, the rooms are all up on the 5th floor. If you want to be close to the lounge and the elevators, you can request that. The elevator that goes up to the 5th floor is just off the lobby. And it's not far to SAB. Both the YC and the BC have really long hallways that can take you far from that elevator, but the 5th floor is actually smaller and has less rooms and shorter hallways. On our last stay at the BC CL, we were as far away from the lounge as possible (well, maybe there was one or 2 rooms that were farther) and it wasn't all that bad. But we asked for a SAB view, so we were willing to be far away. If you want to be close, definitely request it. Hope this helps! :goodvibes

Thank you both. :)

This helps a lot. Can I make a request from the reservation system online or will I need to make a phone call?

Also, my wife's birthday is a week earlier, can I still but in a request for her birthday? I would like her birthday to be special this year. The big 40!

hello. i have been reading threw pages of this thread and looking at the map of the beach club. i am think of booking a garden view room. i was going to request, ground floor near volleyball court. would this location be convient to the marketplace? and is the market place on the ground floor? Another questions, is there any reason to be close to the lobby ,besides to go eat at cape may? we like to be able to walk from the pool to our room without having to go threw the whole hotel. is this possible with a ground flloor room ?thanks in advance!!!!

You can email IPO with your requests. And absolutely tell them you are celebrating her 40th!

Since we can't get a YC CL Garden View with our discount, I am pondering switching to BC. Do the BC CL - Garden Views have full balconies?

Not a problem as long as you don't try to slip them into SAB (won't work). If it were me, I'd let the desk know so that the guard on duty will know they are coming. Anyone else have a suggestion on this?

MarketPlace is on the ground floor off the lobby, your requiest would put you in a general vincinity if it is what you end up with. As far as a need to stay cost to the lobby, it would be closer to SAB but you can use the secret entrance by Room 1501 to get in and out without going through the lobby. Check out page one for more information on this.

2 weeks!!! OMG I can hardly wait :D!!!!!! The girls know we are going, just not when. Can't wait to wake them up and tell them it's time to leave!!

I think I already know the answer to this, but you have to walk outside to get from the BC lobby/restaurants to the BCV, is that correct? It's not a big deal, just something that occurred to me the other day as it was pouring rain when I had to run out to my car...

Contemplating a switch of room categories for our trip in three weeks. We've always done water view except one time, and that one time we did standard. Our standard view actually had of a rooftop, but just beyond it was the fountain just by the walkway to the parking lot and you could see SE, as well. Gorgeous lit up at night!!

As of now, we're CL SV. Not sure if I'd just switch to GV or try to get WV. Just thinking out loud to some people who understand. ;)

We are staying in a 2BR at the Beach Club Villas in Sept. :yay:

I have seen various discussions regarding room location requests for the Beach Club, but how about the Villas? Does anyone have any suggestions?

For instance, is there any standard terminology to describe the layout of the resort, and the 3 different "wings"? I'm just not sure how to specifically explain our room request, KWIM?

TIA!:flower3:
