2012 Beach and Yacht FAQ ~ March, April and May ~Do Not Post Here-Old Thread

Hello,

I am going to BCV from 13 May till 25 May :banana::banana::yay::yay::yay: Can't wait to be there...

This will be the first time for my son (10 months today )

Do you have by any chance the May Activities Schedule?

Many thanks

Switched our OKW reservations to BC and I'm excited. We stayed there the first time we went to WDW back in '04. My husband passed away this past January so staying there again will bring back fond memories.

 to you! So sorry for your loss. The year my dad passed my mom took me to Disneyland 3 times, because it was our happy place, Christmas, his birthday, and their anniversary. My mother now suffers from Alzheimers and no longer remembers a lot, but she goes to a Senior Center daily and they play games and win little trinkets as prizes. She came home one day with an Aladdin coffee mug and showed me and asked, "Is this the place we really like to go?" The bottom of the mug had Disney written on it and I said yep that's were we like to go. I've already told DH that once my mom passes (she will be buried in California with my dad) we will spend 3-4 days at DL riding PotC, her favorite ride. Disney can totally help heal the soul! :grouphug:

For everyone who is wondering how Teena's grandaughter Lily is doing-

The answer is...

Swimmingly!

Here's a picture from her first lesson. :fish:

.

Oh my she is soooooo adorable!!!

We are leaving in 2 DAYS!!!!!!

So, so excited!! Especially since my dd7 came home with Straight A'S!!! That makes this trip so much more special. I am so proud of her. She was born three months preemature with sooo many health issues. This is going to be our third time here! We've done two make a wish trips. The first one was for her, the second for her brother. I am so happy to report that she has a clean bill of health for this trip!!

So much to celebrate!!!

I am almost totally packed! I will spend the day, cleaning this house from top to bottom and COOKING!!!

Since it will just be me and dd along for this trip, my best friend will be staying with my other children and I don't want her to have to do too much at all. So today I will begin cooking for the five days that I will be gone. I have to make about 20 sandwiches 2 casseroles and a nice pot of spaghetti!!! Oh what fun!

I hope you and your DD have a fantastic time and way to go for getting straight A's!! :woohoo:

looking for beach club villas views.. my DH hated the view we had last time..i remember the CM put a big map in front of me and i was unprepared...i would like to have some room numbers to request this time..i saw a site that showed them in detail??

We probably ate breakfast together and didn't even know it!! I absolutely loved staying CL. How awesome that you got updgraded!

We had new bottles of shampoo every day, so I'm not sure that they have the policy that it has to be empty before they replace it. Seems odd!

Glad to hear you had a great time!

LOL at this. I was staying solo after my BC stay, but I moved to a moderate, home of the crappy 2N1 hair products. I totally just stashed my bottles of BC products in the drawer and they left new ones, which I then stuck in my suitcase to smuggle into POFQ.

I never leave the bottle of stuff in the bathroom if I want more, as it seems to be the industry norm, that if they see a bottle they do not leave a bottle no matter how much is in it.

Bookgirl, BC during F & W looks EXPENSIVE! Hope you get a discount...

Well since I am not seeing much I think I'll just have to wait and see what pops up in Aug in either the Fall Room only Discounts or as we hit the cancellation dates for my stay and others give up thier rooms. For some reason Pins don't seem to come my way, but then again I've only ever stayed on RO, no packages, maybe that makes a difference.

I did reserve POFQ early because I could get a AAA discount and I figured that would be my fall back resort. Now it looks like the same thing is happening there. All the discounts that are coming out do not include POFQ or at least not many rooms. That thread has been discussing the lack of discounts or the fact that POFQ runs 5-10% less than the other Mods when they offer sales.

Wouldn't you know it the two resorts I like the best are the one's that EVERYONE likes the best, and that don't have problems selling out.

Hope you have a great trip I know that you're really looking forward to it.

Feckless, or someone going in the next week, if you get a chance to check out the oatmeal situation and report back, that would be great!

Thanks!

OH!!! My first YC/BC FAQ Quest!!! I would be pleased to oblige!!! :) I'm planning on daily mini-trip reports from the (hopefully full!) balcony if the WiFi cooperates... And if you guys can stand it! I love it when other people do so I'm all over it. LOL

We won't overlap, but as soon as I get the May schedule from IPO I'll be sending it along to Dee so she can post it. No sign yet!

Looking forward to it is just a joke! Although I was hoping to leave my two monsters home since they drove me insane this morning! My DD11 has been a moody PITA the last little while - I know it's the tween hormones but my patience has been tried to say the least! And of course nothing is her fault - I split hairs for a living so I'd say the skill must be genetic. My DS inherited my DH's skill of Weird Al-ing song lyrics, which is more entertaining than hair splitting. LOL

LOOK AT MY TICKER!!!! How on earth am I going to finish the laundry and clean the house today?????? And pack and run errands... Ah...

LOL at the splitting hairs. One of my nephews would argue semantics even at 2. "Said no jumping on couch, I jump on bed" :rotfl:

He is now 12 1/2 and hit puberty about a year ago, between the hormones and the sheer hardheadness I worry that my brother will start spending those private school fees to find a good boarding school either that or he's going to lock him in a shed.

Laundry/Clean house?????? All just minor annoyances YOU"RE GOING TO DISNEY. Wish my ticker would hurry up!

:wave2: We'll be at YC the 15- 19th. Hoping we'll have fabulous weather. See you in the pool! :beach:

:woohoo: Eh, you won't be able to sleep tonight anyway. You can finish the packing then! :rotfl2: Have a Magical vacation!!! Can't wait to reead your updates. :goodvibes

Not sure if this was mentioned but there are posts on the attractions strategies board that there will be a test of FP+ for certain rides during May 1-15.

I'm really not trying to :stir:. I honestly haven't thought much about how I feel about this in the first place. We'll be there in July and I'm wondering how far along these "tests" will be.

Anyway, just passing along info.

Also on another note, we sat as a family last night...that's a feat in and of itself....and I think we are going to switch from the BCV to the YC. The bed issue is really causing concern. Thanks for the input on that too!

I can't wait to get out there next week to see her. We "skype" but she keeps trying to put her head into the computer screen. She's having some major teething problems -- big time diarrhea. Other than that, she's a happy baby. It will be a super trip. I'm actually spending Mother's Day with Jeanne ... it's been a long time since we were able to do that and we have an appointment that day for wedding dress shopping.

What a great Mother's Day - for both of you.
My kids always had a hard time teething - and they ALL ran fevers which the pediatrician always told me had nothing to do with teething . . . .

Can't wait to hear about the wedding dress (and Lily's dress too!)

A lot has happened this weekend with our December trip. DH has decided that we can definitely stay at the Yacht Club. The only thing is for how long. Now we are at that point of should we book it and then Add/Reduce days. I would think you could always go to less days, but adding may be a pip due to availability. Does anyone know if they rebook the whole room if you add/subtract days and then by then re-booking you lose your spot? This would be a room only reservation with no dining and annual passes with the tables in wonderland.

Also DH pointed out that we were actually at the Yacht Club at the Beaches and Cream place. We drove that trip so we came in through the lobby and then went right to the restaurant. We had to wait 45 mins for a table so we spent our time in the arcade waiting. I'm kicking myself now for not checking out the resort.

My husband has fallen in love with the Yacht Club! I've been hearing about the Boardwalk area but we never really thought it was more than just a part of the hotel. WDW better get their web site up to par! Compared to the Dis Boards it's like a desert of information. Who knew that you could take a boat from Epcot to DHS!! This is blowing my mind! I used to think that the Boardwalk area was just an area in front of the hotel. Looking at it now it seems like it is a complex unto itself.

I'm about half way through the thread. That first page is awesome as far as information is concerned. :listen:. I also have major ADD because I have to keep stopping and look into a topic further. I like they way everybody helps each other here with just about anything concerned with their stay. Going to WDW always lends itself to a million questions. I feel like I will find the answers here. Thanks for listening and thanks for the help. :cloud9:

I will be at the villas 15th to 22!! yay I can not wait!!! last time I went in may 2009 it pouredddddddd for like 4 days straight ;0( I am hoping for fabulous weather as well.

So you know you are not alone, I bring my own too! :)

You really should try the shampoo and conditioner Disney provides from H20! Love it! After using it on our last trip, I now actually order it online.
And as someone else said, 2 less things to pack!

I love, love, love live trip reports! So I for one am hoping the WiFi cooperates!

Have a great trip!

So we are thinking of making the change from a standard room to the Club Level. Anyone know what is offered there at the YC daily? Just wanting to make sure it's worth the increase in cost.

Thanks!
