Welcome Back, Teena!!! :) Speaking of colder days on the ship, we've finalized our plans to cruise on the Wonder to Alaska next summer. The Wonder seems like a more manageable size than the Dream (which was beautiful and in great condition but huge!) What did you think about the condition of the rooms and the ship generally? You know you're primarily responsible for this cruising after putting that idea in our heads back in July 2010!

Can't wait to see the photos!

I sent the pictures to MM and hopefully she'll be able to get them up. They were taken from my old cell phone so you never know.

I love the Wonder and the Magic. I'm not a fan of the larger ships. The Wonder was great ... I didn't think it needed anything. Our cabin was absolutely perfect. The condition of the rooms and ship in general was excellent.

I've done Alaska and loved it -- on Celebrity (before Disney went there). It's a whole different type of cruise. You don't ever want to do anything but look outside. I didn't want to participate in anything or even go to dinner because I was afraid I'd miss something outside. There was no sunning on deck or swimming ... no nothing but looking outside for Bob and me. What a beautiful place. We went the third week of July and had perfect weather. The only day we had to wrap up in blankets to stand or sit on the balcony was the day we sailed to the glacier. And you are so lucky you are going out of Seattle. We went to the fish market the morning before we got on the ship and really enjoyed that!!!

Hey all,
This is such a great thread though there is no way I could read the whole thing ( I can only slack off at work so much)

We are officially booked at the beach club from 1/2-1/8. I have been going back and forth the past few months whether it was worth the extra money ( I will admit it..I am cheap) We have been staying at the pop, then POFQ, then BC, back to POP, but I have always wanted to stay at the BC and my DBF has hinted around enough so that I am pretty sure this is going to be an extra special trip for us  so I decided to def. make our stay at the beach club. Now I just need the next 1 and 1/2 months to fly by.

Just my opinion ... I think the BC is definitely worth the extra money but again, in MY opinion, not in January, February and early March when you don't know for sure if you can use Stormalong Bay. I personally think in January you probably aren't planning on swimming so although the BC is wonderful, is it worth that much extra money just for the larger room and the proximity to Epcot, not for me. Now the other months (including November and December because of the holiday decorations) when you might do the parks in the AM and then come back and enjoy SAB and then walk over to Epcot for dinner and then hit another park at night, DEFINITELY, the BC is the place to go.

I'm sure there are plenty of others here that will disagree with me but I think you might not enjoy the BC in early January (unless we have a HOT spell) as much as you might think.

We arrive at the YC on March 10, so for 2012, I'm officially declaring that "early March" ends on March 9.

Welcome back Ms. Teena!! See you in a couple of weeks!!

Jay

What are the dates? We decided to go have Christmas with Jeanne and Princess Lily January 6-10. I'm switching days with Richard so he'll be working my Sunday and Monday and I'm not totally sure, but I think I'll be working his Wednesday and Thursday (11th and 12th) instead -- it's up to him what two days he wants me to work for him. I hope I'm not going to miss you again!

all I want for christmas is a pin code!!!

I swear to god, I have gotten three pin codes in the past two months all for dates that I can't use!

If it were not for the fact that we have a DCL trip right before our visit to WDW I would seriously consider changing the dates of our trip.

I am using Dreams Unlimited Travel for everything and they have been great, getting me the free dining and a great rate at the BC, but I need that discount!!

just needed to vent!

Jennifer

trust me I feel for you..This past trip we paid rack rate and it was seriously aggravating. I hope you get a pin soon. However I think it's time to get in the mindset of disney not releasing pins/discount any longer. Which I am fine with as long as the resorts, restaurants etc remain of high quality. And as of my last trip I did not get what I paid for unfortunately in terms of the resort. I just hope it was a fluke.

Welcome back Teena glad to hear you had a nice trip!!
We've never been on a Disney cruise (or any cruise for that matter) but are considering a Disney one in the near future.
I just got a new teaching job after being laid off for a year.

Deb :)

I highly recommend a Disney cruise but out of Florida, not LA. The embarking and disembarking out of LA is a nightmare compared to Port Canaveral!!!!

Congrats on the job!

Love the Teena and Bob pictures!!!!
And I need to say a public THANK YOU to Teena for being wonderful (as usual). For anyone who has not had the opportunity to meet the famous Teena, you must try to meet her! Her kindness and generosity are legendary for a good reason!!!

Love the pics Teena! Thanks for posting them MM. The door decorations were neat. I love all of the food pics. Makes me want to take a cruise!:thumbsup2
The kittie's are so adorable.

I actually have no interest in SAB and that had no part of my really wanting to stay at the BC. Epcot is tied as my favorite park so I love being walking distance to it. Plus i just love the look of the BC. Oh and at least in 2010 the holiday decorations are still up at the BC the first week of January.

LOL I never though I would come on this board and have someone try to convince me not to stay at the BC.

I will be there from 12/3-12/7 so hopefully you are around!! I would ruin my trip if I couldn't pop over and say hi!!

SAB is not the most important reason to stay at BC for me, either. The ease of getting to EPCOT and the flexibility of traveling to and from other areas of Disney World are the major draw for my family.

I think you will find the Beach Club to be a romantic and memorable resort!

If you don't care about SAB and just want the location, then you'll love it. It sure is nice to take the four minute walk to Epcot!!! And hopefully this year the decorations will still be up for you.

This is what we are looking forward to.:cool1: Hope to get one day at SAB though too. We usually brave one afternoon for a couple of hours in the pool. SAB will be fun to try out. I may stay dressed and let DH and DS brave it alone if it is a cold winter!! We have to go in Feb. because of DH's builder's show. We love the low crowd's at that time of year. So hopefully it will all be a plus for us too.:goodvibes
