Suemom2Kay....glad to hear your blackout is over
nannette.....congrats on getting moved
Teena....have fun on your trip!

DH made it through his knee surgery just fine. He's limping and hobbling around, but hopefully will be much better before our trip in three weeks. Just in case, I've requested a first or second floor room at YC near the lobby. Has anyone ever stayed in one of the first or second floor rooms near the lobby??

Hi all! I just wanted to de-lurk and join in! I have enjoyed reading thru the thread and getting up to date on the Beach & Yacht Club. We will be staying at Beach Club for a long weekend in December. (I haven't updated the ticker yet!) This will be our first stay over in an EPCOT resort, we are usually a Magic Kingdom area family, but this stay we will be doing so much at Epcot and HS that we figured we'd give it a try. I am excited to see things from a different perspective and can't wait to see the Christmas decorations.

Keep all the great information coming!

Christine

Trying to write up the FAQ post about coffee makers. What is in the BCV rooms? Do all of the BCV categories have 10 cup drip coffee makers (Mr. Coffee type)? Or something else?

Thanks!

Has anyone had any experience with Undercover Tourist?

We bought our Universal tickets from them (our first time ever) and they were awesome. Easy to work with and the tickets arrived within a week of buying them. I would definitely use them again.

Rorey- thanks for sharing your great pictures, especially for the one with Teena. Do you mind me posting the coffee maker in the FAQ section of Page 1? (please do not check page 1 until you give your approval...). Do you mind sharing your room number? I'm collecting views. Not sure exactly what I am going to do with them, but figure there may be a use out there. Garden view?

Yes, please do use whatever you need. I really need to start working on the trip report, as DH took a massive amounts of pictures. LOL He even took a video of our walk from our room (3592) to the elevator. The poor cast member who got in the shot as we now have lasting video of his backside all down the hallway. :)

Ugh lol other than the fact that I couldn't book them online for the ones 180+ days out it went well. For some reason when I put my reservation number it, it found it, however when I would try and book a reservation, it said it was invalid. No problems booking over the phone though.
We got:
April 28th Akershus 6:30 PM (DD's 6th birthday)
April 29th 50's Prime Time 5:50pm
April 30th CMC 6:30pm
May 1st Crystal Palace 8:20am :( missed out on my 8:05
May 2nd CMC 9:25am (resort/DTD day...figured we might want to sleep in)
May 3rd 'Ohana 6:30 pm (my birthday)
May 5th Tusker House 10:05am
May 6th Le Cellier 12:45pm

After I made the reservations she took a credit card to hold for the restaurants that required it. She only had to take the info once, but then had to apply it to each one individually. Honestly the whole process took about 30 minutes...a lot longer then I would have hoped, but I'm happy with everything but the CP breakfast :(

CP was our favorite breakfast, I would just keep trying to change it or something else we found out was that we could arrive early for our reservation and they let us check in no problem. They let us all into the park at 8am anyways and most people spent 10-15 minutes taking pictures of Main Street and the castle with no one else in the shot. That was DH's favorite part of the trip that I scheduled breakfasts before the park was open so he could be able to look around and not feel rushed.

Hi Everyone!!!! I power was restored last night around 8:00p.m. I still have friends that are without power. Hopefully by tomorrow everyone will be back up. I don't ever remember seeing so many tree branches down and trees uprooted. Amazing what some wet heavy snow can do on leafy trees.

I pray for all of those with small children and senior citizens who have no way to stay at a hotel like we did for 2 nights. Our dog and cat both got presents for their trouble. Dobby our cat was lounging on the radiator in heaven. He got a new kitty condo. Mr. Smithers our very immature, 9 year old yellow lab got a Kong treat teaser (you know they gotta work to get the treat out) and 100% salmon treats (he is allergic to grain). Dobby likes these treats to so we are sharing the wealth.

I had every light on in the house for awhile today because I could. Thought of WDW and our beloved Beach Club as much as possible to get me through! :rotfl:

Has been an ordeal but a very memorable one. The "blackout of 2011" will be long remembered by my family and me!

Later guys!

Yay for the power being back!!!

The BCV coffee pots are the 10 cup Mr. Coffee type and they use the flat bottom filters

So glad things are getting back to normal for you. Soon this all will be a distant memory!

Thanks to everyone for all the well wishes on our power being back up. Life is pretty much back to normal now.

Is it really 10 months until we're back at the Beach Club??? Well, this thread sure helps it fly by. :cool2:

I swore I saw a pool noodle melting on a transformer. Do you think it was Pastina and not all those trees that caused the blackout??? :confused3

It was so beautiful yesterday here in NE Kentucky, we went to the park!

It was just the three of us and my Nikon D60. I got this camera a few years back and still don't know everything.

We are finding FREE activities to save money for our trip that is just above 30 days away!!!!!:banana::banana: I can't believe that my little man will be turning 13 on the trip in December and I will be a mother of a teenager!
:scared1:

Ok I did it. I know it isn't much but I upgraded to a garden view from standard.
Would have love to do water(as we have never had anything but standard), but after my husband surprised me with the upgrade to the BC, I am feeling blessed with that :)

We are 44 days out!!!!!!

We fly out to LA this Saturday. I won't be back to work until Sunday, 11/20.

Teena, you may want to bring some warm clothes to LA. Believe it or not - its forecast to be in the very low 60's. (I know that's not really cold - but it is for So. Cal.!!) Our weather in So. Cal. has been a rollercoaster ride - yesterday it was 84 and windy, today a perfect 74, tonight we're expecting rain, and Friday possibility of rain and high in the upper 50's:confused3. Hopefully Baja will be nicer - though the Pacific can be rough.

Hope you have fun - too bad we couldn't do a mini-West Coast DLR meet - hopefully we'll get out to the BC/YC again next summer with my MIL the DLR CM.

We're not planning on doing DL. We are meeting our best friends from PA whose plane gets in 5 minutes after ours and then we have a van reserved to take us to San Pedro to a hotel. We're having dinner near the hotel at some restaurant on the pier and then back to the hotel to sleep and we'll be leaving the hotel at 10 AM to get to the Wonder. They said it's a 5 minute drive. The hotel will shuttle us to the ship. We looked at the forecasts for the area we're sailing in and it looks like it will be nice and warm once we get sailing south. None of us are planning on packing any sweatshirts or jackets.

Thanks all for reassuring me about undercover tourist tickets, heard back from AAA yesterday - all they can do is order tickets from Disney, no discount - just like I can, so I'll wait 'till the 15th to see if I get a discount from the mailer and then order the 10 day parkhopper from UC - that gives them 23 days to arrive in the mail, so I should be good.
Teena enjoy SOCAL, Baja and the Wonder, I'm 5 hours north in California and rumour has it a cold snap is due in tomorrow here (down to the 50s in the daytime!) I have many 'souvenir' sweatshirts from trips were I predicted warmer weather than I experienced. In fact last Dec. @ WDW I acquired 'souvenir' gloves, sweatshirt and knit hat:cool1: The gloves have subtle micky heads on them (black on black) I may buy some more this year to give as stocking stuffers.
Drumroll for the ticker - one month and 6 days, I think.

And congratulations nannette.
Thought about you several times today. Now nothing but sweet dreams (Disney Dreams) at the end of the tunnel. Be single digits before you know it.

Thanks Mike... 2 weeks from today and I'll be at the Mouse's House!!! Can't wait!

Nannette - congratulations on the move. Always better to be on this side of a move.:thumbsup2

thanks!! Love this side!! and shameless ticker peaks!!!

And like Jaceraden... shameless ticker peak.

Hi Everyone!!!! I power was restored last night around 8:00p.m.

So happy you have power and are home again!!!

Nannette - good luck on the remainder of your move. I hope the unpacking and settling in goes smoothly.

Thanks Dee!! Only 4 more boxes to unpack.. and since I took Weds, Thurs and Friday off I should be done tomorrow!!!

Did Joeseph take that first picture of you with Fabio, oops I mean Charlie?? That Boy's got talent behind the camera!!! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Nice work Joeseph.... and BTW I totally understand about having that soon to be teenager in the house. It seems like just yesterday we were changing diapers and not getting enough sleep.

To all new parents, enjoy it while you can because it sure goes fast!!!

DH said lets go to Disney in the spring, so that's all I need to hear. YC reservations made and dining reservations also made. Now to book the airfare.:cool1::yay::woohoo:

Fabio says thank you!, yes Joeseph took that picture! He is better than he gives himself credit for! I am trying to encourage this as a hobby, so thanks for the input! Your right the time has flown by so very fast! :sad1:

All this time I've been thinking we were staying at YC and found out today that my dh's company booked the BC instead. :goodvibes

I'm okay with it, though, since BC is my very favorite! I was kind of getting excited at staying somewhere new, but you can't look a gift horse in the mouth. :thumbsup2

Can we get added to the list please :)
