Hey Dee.... Thanks for the pictures of 'Our Dear Ladies'. They all looks so happy!

And welcome back to all our returnee's. Sounds like fun was had by all. Feed us some details when you get a chance. Would love to hear :surfweb:.

I have started working on my trip review. We returned last Thursday (can't believe we are back a week already!) from a great family vacation at US/IOA and WDW. I really enjoyed your live updates and review!

Kerry

Still wondering if my flight is going to be able to land in Boston on Monday during the hurricane.

For some reason the trip seems official when we make that final payment at 45 days - that was yesterday - yc here we come!

Teena- I am so glad you made it to see the little princess. The pictures are so wonderful!

Jay- Congratulations on your upgrade!

I am a firm believer in prayer and I also believe that God does not want us to sit on our bottoms and wait for blessings to rain down. I believe God helps those who help themselves. Most of you know that I have had some unexpected medical issues that caused us to reduce our trip to cover some medical bills. Well after changing most of our trip to the French Quarter and ending with two nights at the beach club, I was still worrying about gratuities, DH's scooter rental, gas money, hotel in route, ect. ...

Well over the last few days I gathered up some old textbooks from the last year of college classes and old home school curriculum from my son's past three years. I listed them on ebay on a 7day run.

I have sold everything in less than 48 hours! The last item has a bid on it and still has 5 days to go with 16 people watching. I have just about covered almost every single extra expense for the trip!

For my prayer partners thank you so much! I even put $30.00 up in an envelope for Joeseph to get the kitchen sink on his birthday!!!!

Where there is a will there is a way!!

PS. Teena- I told my hubby and Joey that you work only Sun-Mon and our stay is on other days of the week. They both said we must stop there to say hi first before we check in at POFQ on our arrival day! So I guess if all goes well we will see you in December!

Can't wait to meet you and give you a huge hug ... you and the other people here have helped me through such a rough year!!!

Great job on ebay!!!

Another rough night of sleep in 90 minute intervals. That Princess Lily, with her rough start with losing all that weight, is so use to eating whenever she wants, she never fills up enough to actually sleep long. I offer suggestions but it's Jeanne's baby and she seems to not mind too much - the power of youth. My one suggestion she took though ... Brian gets up with her one night and Jeanne sleeps and then the next night they switch --- tried it last night ... it will work with time. Jeanne has to plug her ears on her nights to sleep.

I moved way too much furniture yesterday and my neck and back are messed up. Plenty more moving today but the largest pieces of furniture are moved back. I can't believe they moved everything to one corner of the room to clean everything and just expect us to get it all back. (This is the first time they did this in five years but it's also the first time the school was vacant for summer. Last year was the first year her school went to a 9 month school.) Jeanne had a c-section less than 6 weeks ago and you all know what I've gone through. Those bookcases full of books, filing cabinets, wardrobes, etc. are tough.

Princess Lily made it through her first day of daycare. She's the youngest in her class. Personally I think the schedule they get her on will be fantastic!

Off to school .........

Oh Teena! She's gorgeous!!!
I'm so happy you got there. My kids definitely benefitted from the daycare schedule. It made things MUCH better at home. The sleep thing will get better. It takes time!
Enjoy your time in Vegas!

Amanda

PS We're not staying at BC/YC this time but we leave for BLT on Satuday!!!

Enjoy BLT but not as much as BC/YC!!! Amanda, thanks again for all your help ... you have no idea how much you really helped Bob and me!

Teena - I remember those days of no sleep! We did the same thing - DH would take over all the night feedings every Saturday night. Sleeping through the night once a week really helped me. Although when I woke up Sunday morning I used to wonder how many babies had been in my house!
Men don't seem to be as organized with the nighttime routine as we are!

Kerry - can't wait to read your trip report. It looks like we'll be spending a few days "on the other side" next year, so I'm excited to hear your experiences. Between your and Dee's report I'll be able to plan. Hope we meet up at BC again next year (no fire alarms though!).

Still wondering if my flight is going to be able to land in Boston on Monday during the hurricane.

Unfortunately, I'm not sure how much info you will be able to get until late Saturday or early Sunday. At this point, there is no definitive info on where and when Irene is going to be on Monday. Lots of variables.

I am here in MA and I can post what they are saying on Sunday, but until then, enjoy your time and if plans do have to change, I'm sure you will get some help.

I guess if you are unable to get home because of "irene" what better place to get stuck in than Disney World...

Thanks Natebenma, so much for describing your wonderful method! We do have park hoppers, and will plan to use your tricks!

Sincerely, Pam

so glad I found this thread! My husband and I are staying at the Yacht Club for Marathon weekend.. sans kids! :yay:

I have never stayed here and am so excited to see it in person! I haven't read all 77 pages yet so sorry if my questions have already been answered

are there blgd names?

we have a water/pool room booked with a request in for Water view, but I am wondering if we will really see a view of the lake unless we are on the top floors anyway? :confused3 Can you see the lake from the 1st floor?

are the water views worth it or should I save the $400 and go to a garden view?

thanks!

I've posted once on this thread but am mostly a lurker! :) I do have a question though which I'm sure someone can answer. We're planning to book another WDW vacation next June. It will be myself, DH and DS(14). As we've stayed there years ago (11 I think) I was wondering about the BCV now and renting points. As there will only be three of us what is the differences between a standard room at BC and a studio at BCV? I've asked my son and he said he doesn't mind sleeping on a pull out coach but are they comfortable enough for a week of vacationing? I cannot wait to book this trip. I'm just having a hard time deciding on what to do. This trip will be as much park time as pool time also! We loved SAB years ago although our son was on 3 at the time and has no recollection of it. I know he will be in love with it once he's there. :thumbsup2 Any help would be appreciated.

Oh, and Tenna, your granddaughter is beautiful. Obviously she and your daughter take after their Grandma/Mom! I cannot wait to meet you next year. Everyone on this thread seems so wonderful. I'm enjoying reading it every day (shhhh, don't tell my husband). :rotfl2:

Teena- We can't wait! We will be in double digits here soon! Please try not to over do it! I would hate to here of any set backs in your health. Enjoy your visit! Schedules are awsome! I am sure Princess Lily will adjust quickly and before they know it she will be sleeping through the night.

Wish we were in Disney right now- earthquake, hurricane- DH and DS come home tomorrow night from hiking the Grand Canyon to prepare for Irene

77 days to go!!!!

Pretty lousy week to be living on the east coast isn't it? Hope Irene peters out before she gets to the Carolina's. Everyone stay safe please.

Yep, sounds like a good time for a Dis Boards meet out in Vegas wherever Teena is staying. Surely she and Jeanne have room for a couple hundred of her closest Dis Board friends..... and many hands make light work! ;)

Good luck and keep safe for everyone in the path of Irma, or Irene or whatever her name is. I know we are almost certain to meet her here in Marlton, which is 45 miles inland from the coast. :beach::boat:

Her name is Mud.

Thinking about you, and all those in Her path. We should escape most of it here in the DC area, but lots of people are concerned with unknown building cracks, etc from the earthquake coming to light in the downpours we'll probably get.:sad2:

Never a dull moment.

BTW - Just found out something interesting. We had a full spa day planned at the GF Spa on September 21st. Just got a phone call saying they had to move us, because the spa would be closing for construction on the 20th.... for two years.

Apparently, the spa itself just found out last week. So much for advance planning!:confused3

Is there any refurb/construction going on at the BC/YC now through December?

Yes but if you read the posts of those that have returned from the BC recently the crew doing the work is very efficient and not obnoxious or intrusive upon your personal space and enjoyment of the facilities. However, if you arrive and find a crane outside your window and would like a different view, the front desk is always willing to work with you as much as they can given the constraints of what is available at the time.

Note that they are finishing up BC (if they have not done so already) and will be relocating their efforts to the YC immediately thereafter.

Hope you have a great vacation!

Noooooooo...... so much for the quiet YC trip! :lmao:

Didn't want you to get lost in all the other discussions. Wecome! To try to answer your questions:

No the buildings aren't named because they are not separate buildings. If you look at the lay-out of the place (see page one of this thresd), the YC and the BC are one big building but you can't get from one to the other without a brief walk under a covered porch. The BCV is a separate building next to the BC.

The waterview assures you of either a view of the lake or the quiet pool. You don't need to request "water" but you might want to request "lake view" if that is what you want. You can see it from any room at any level without any problem as far as I remember.

As far as what to request, it really gets to be a personal issue. How much time will you REALLY be spending in the room? I see you will be on the YC side so you don't need to be concerned about a full balconey to sit on. If you are going to spend a lot of time in the room looking at the view then yes, the water view is nice. Marlton Mom can explain the wonders of a garden view but if its not a view of a roof top or a parking lot or a view of water, then they consider it a garden view. This might be looking at a forest or lots of trees but again, if you are spending a lot of time in the room then you did right by getting the water view. Many poeple (our own TeenaS in particular) don't give a hoot about what is outside the windows and use the savings for a good dinner or two.

Hope this helps. Happy planning!
