thanks Katesdad I like the idea of Mickey's.
I know it wouldn't take them Long to figure it out. Id like to tell them the night before but I don't think they'll sleep cause I don't. ;)

I made it through two days at work and met so many disers ... it was so much fun!!! We talked, talked and did more talking.

Unless something happens tonight, I'm out of here to go to Jeanne's tomorrow morning.

I'll have limited computer usage but I'll stay in touch the best I can.

Thanks so much for all the warm wishes and prayers. You all helped me get through this latest ordeal and on my way to Jeanne's!

Teena, So sorry that I missed you before you left but I am so happy to hear that you are feeling better and on your way. Have a wonderful trip and enjoy your time with Jeanne and little Miss Lily.:flower3:

YAY!!!!:woohoo: I'm glad your feeling better. Pixie for your flight tomorrow to see Jeanne & Lilly. I'm sure you are so excited! Can't wait to see more pictures of her and the rest of the family!

4 weeks from tonight I will be packing the car up and thinking of ways to tell the girls we are going to Disney! Any suggestions on how to tell them?

I was thinking of NOT telling them and see how long it will take for them to realize where we are going. Only problem is that we leave at 4:30 in the AM & my mom will drive us to the airport. Last year when we surprised them they were still have asleep & the excitement kicked in half way to the airport...oh yeah my oldest & youngest both had ear infections. We found out the evening we were leaving(ER till 1am our departure morning...left house at 4:30am) not a great way to start the vacation.

Please give me some ideas!!!!

Well, Tinkerbell could come after they fell asleep and pixie dust their beds with Disney stuff ~ and include an invitation to come to WDW ASAP!

You could write the letter in a fairy type font (LOL whatever THAT is!) and paste some pictures on it from Tink explaining what she wants them to do.... (get out of bed and GO!).

Maybe you could even have their suit cases packed and open on the floor in their room and tell them Tink did it!

If you are getting special Disney T-shirts for the trip that would be good to dust the bed with. Tink could have left those along with other little Disney things like coloring books for the trip and what ever else the Dollar stores allegedly have.

Don't you just love being a Mom and thinking up things that will put the biggest "HAPPY" in their hearts? Go girl GO!

So upset I'm gonna miss you! (Jake)

Aww... Don't worry Teena, Jake and the rest of us will be back before you know it...

You have a great time with your girls and sit and rest with your little sack of potatoes hugging your heart. :lovestruc

We're back from a lovely 3 days at YC CL and a less lovely 3 days at a Ramada Inn in Titusville (although we thoroughly enjoyed Kennedy Space Center). We had no trouble with our connecting flights, but on the way there one suitcase decided that Baltimore would be a preferable vacation destination and on the way home another suitcase must have gone to Vegas, because it won't say where it ended up and got dropped off by courier on our doorstep at 7 AM the next morning. Got to love Disney -- they took care of the first suitcase's wandering problem for us!

SAB was fantastic and we didn't think it was crowded at all. We never had a real problem finding a chaise lounge. Sometimes the line for the big slide got long, but we managed! Lots of thunderstorms. We went to the pool four times and got thrown out twice! What a lovely place to spend a day.

Our next trip is already booked for POR (and we can't change it because YC isn't a host resort for the Princess half marathon), but you may have some new converts! :)

I'm so glad you enjoyed the Yacht Club and SAB!!! I have to tell you, I was feeling a bit of pressure! :)

Bummer about all of the luggage issues. We have never had a problem with lost luggage before, but one of my packing suggestions is to distribute everyone's clothes in all of the suitcases you are bringing so if one does get lost, everyone will still have something to wear.

Basically how is laid out. If it was nice and would it be much better than a lagoon cl view room. Thanks.

It was very nice, had a lot of space. When you walked in, there was the living room. It had a TV, couch, 2 chairs and a desk. There was a standing balcony off the living room and had a view of the pool (although trees were in the way), but it was overlooking the courtyard coming off the lobby. There was a wet bar with a microwave there also. You then had a door going into the bedroom, loved the king size bed and the view from my bed was the Boardwalk. We also had a TV in there with another door on the other side of the bed. In between the bedroom and living room was a hall that included the closet and 2 sinks and the bathroom. I would love to stay there again. I had booked a deluxe room and was upgraded to the 2 bedroom suite. Our room was on the 4th floor with the club being on the 5th, but it was not a huge hassle to go up.

I have not stayed in the LGV CL Rooms so I can't say if it was better or not.

Just back from a fabulous 3 week vacation which ended with 4 wonderful days at the BC. We stayed CL for the first time and it was wonderful, the lounge was so convenient and we really appreciated the great breakfast, snacks and the evening appetisers. The lounge did get pretty crowded (it seemed much smaller than I had imagined especially compared to Poly lounge when we stayed CL there a few years ago) however we did always get a seat when we wanted it. We stayed in room 5636 which was perfect, a full balcony, garden view and a daybed (we are 5). The view was great, garden view but if you looked to the right you could see some of the Boardwalk and a great view of the top part of the fireworks over the top of the trees. Housekeeping was great and we had cute towel animals most days. Concierge staff were wonderful both in the lounge and at the desks. Stormalong Bay was as wonderful as ever and I love the new chairs which I am sure have been updated since our last stay in 2009. Also had a haircut and colour for the first time at Periwigs Salon which was great. Didn't get to meet Teena as the only time we saw her was yesterday as we were on our way out to get to the airport and she was with some people so we didn't have time to wait. All in all another wonderful stay at my favourite place in the whole world!!

PS one of the concierge staff told us that there were an English family who were staying at one of th ebig suites at the YC and had been in there for a month - now that is what I call a holiday!!

I would like to know what rooms are good to request for a full balcony and view of Epcot. We have a garden view room with our reservation. Thanks! We are going the first week of February, 3rd-11th.

Teena---Safe travels to visit Princess Lily! Hope you have a wonderful time! See you in 19 days! :yay:

Hey- small world indeed!
I was born and raised in Summerville until I just moved to Atlanta 2 mths ago. I worked at Trident and MUSC as well! Trident from 2002-2008 on mother/baby, Level2 nursery, and pediatrics. MUSC on 8D, but that didn't last long...wasn't for me!
My grandparents are close to that goose creek publix, in crowfield...
Imagine us all finding each other on the YC/BC thread...pretty neat!:flower3:

This is a very small world! We were nieghbors! My first apartment was behind what is now the Verizon store but was the bread store across from the small Little Pappys. We were married in 1999 also at the church of God in Summerville. My husband was a volunteer fire fighter in Cordesville and we have a friends that are all firefighters in the area. I miss Publix also! I love the chinese resturant beside it that serves unlimited sushi! Go there every visit with mom! If you ever rod in a cab the white ones, you might have crossed our path. My father in law also drove cab, unfortunantly he was robbed in your old nieghborhood by people who did not lived there. I also miss Alex's. I tend to stay up late and it was nice to go get a cup of coffee and split peanut butter pie! Wow, how crazy is all fo this!

I have to agree with you DisneyMagicGirl...this is pretty neat! I am a pharmacist and I worked in the Children's Hospital when I was at MUSC, so I remember 8D. At that time we entered med orders from the floors, so I spent a lot of time on 7B and in the clinical pharmacy office on 8. MUSC wasn't for me either! ;) My cousin lives in Crowfield now, we haven't been down to visit since she bought her house there.

Heather, We ate at Alex's a lot! We really missed it when we left. My husband also misses the 2x4 at Little Pappy's. If we had a day off together, we usually had breakfast at Alex's. I also loved the pizza place "Pies-on" that was on the other side of Publix (over by St. James Place restaurant)---they had great cheesesteaks! We were last in Goose Creek about 5 years ago, I think. We drove through Monck's Corner and Summerville about 3 years ago on our way from Myrtle Beach to Georgia for my brother's wedding. We miss our friends from there and have a lot of fond memories. My cousin used to live in the neighborhood that was behind the Holiday Inn and Wendy's right at Hwy 52 and Redbank Rd. We got married in the park behind her house, and had our reception at her house, because that was where we met. It's been fun reminiscing about Goose Creek! :)

I would like to know what rooms are good to request for a full balcony and view of Epcot. We have a garden view room with our reservation. Thanks! We are going the first week of February, 3rd-11th.

:welcome:

Would you like us to add you to our Guest List on page 1?

Your best bet is to request what you want in words, not room numbers. The chance that a particular room will be available during your trip is not as likely as finding a room that meets your needs.

So wording a request like "full balcony, please, EPCOT view if possible" will let the room assigner know what your priorities are.

Please check out the FAQ section on the front page. There is some information about room requests.

Thanks for answering me!

The FAQ post is Post #9.

I just reviewed it and I see that I don't specifically address requesting a particular room- I'll amend the info. Thanks for inspiring that!

We're back from a lovely 3 days at YC CL and a less lovely 3 days at a Ramada Inn in Titusville (although we thoroughly enjoyed Kennedy Space Center). SNIP!

:lmao: We stayed there too about 3+ years ago. I still can't get that 'funky!' Ramada Inn of Titusville smell out of my head. That Denny's was the bomb though.... they had the best Denny's food of any Denny's we ever ate at!

Here at the Yacht Club!! We have a beautiful garden view Club Level room. I'll post room # after our vacation along with info, pics, etc.. I'm not going to be paying for internet everyday so I'll have a lot of catching up to do.

We met Teena yesterday. She gave me a big hug and it's like we've been friends forever! So sweet. :cloud9:

Can't wait to post pics after vacation. Wait a minute... I TOTALLY can wait. Who wants to rush their vacation?? :lmao:
