Good spot to fill in a little time so how about an mini rundown on our 'new' stuff for this trip. So many new experiences to try. Here's a sampling>

  • Originally had 4 nights scheduled at BC, That was just not good enough. Called and added a GV room on the Dark Side for a couple nights. Really looking forward to seeing how my other naughtical (naughty) brothers and sisters live.
  • Yak and Yeti. Menu sounds good and most reviews like it.
  • EMH at MK, Yes those EMH's that they tack on at the end of the day for the zombies and the night creatures. We tried EMH evening years ago and ran screaming from EPCOT at the shear sight of this horror. Well, we're going to MK again -12am to 3am, Just seems cool to be in HM at 3 am. Will let you know.
  • Flying Fish Cafe....Always wanted to and the time is right
  • La Hacienda de San Angel New, we like Mexican, What the heck
  • Teppan Edo...first time since 1983. How's that for giving a second chance.
  • And to wrap it up Characters at Cape May Breakfast on our departure day.
  • And if there any 'special missions' that need taken care of please let me know. I will boldly go into closets
that no man has ever gone

Yay for the new thread! Many thanks to Dee!

Hi Feckless! I did a few things to pick out the items for our in-room mini surprise. First, Robyn (Disneymomx7) does this for her kids, and before our February trip, she asked for photos of items in the BC Marketplace that she might include in the surprise. (She's there now, but is one of the experts in arranging these things, so I hope she will comment when she returns.) So that's how I learned about the concept of a "mini-surprise" instead of a complete in-room celebration.

As for the specific items, that's thanks to YC fan. I saw the photos that YC Fan took of her in-room pirate celebration on the old thread - it was amazing! Now, we're not doing a complete in-room celebration through Disney florist like she did, but her photos contained some great ideas for items IPO could purchase for us.

We were also at WDW for a short visit in May after a weekend at the beach, so I paid more careful attention to the items in the Marketplace and the Screen Door at BWI, giving me a better idea of what was available. But most of my requests were the result of the detailed photos that YC Fan took of her celebration.

Finally, disneystore.com's "Disney parks" section is good for ideas. I used that site (and copied pictures from it) to give IPO an idea of the items I wanted. So I'd just suggest sending a list and describing some of the things you'd like - they'll research and tell you whether it's possible.

Happy Planning!!! :wizard:

This appears to involve three of my four favourite things: (1) planning; (2) surprising the kids and (3) SHOPPING. Thank you SO MUCH. I can hardly wait for Robyn to come back and give me more ideas (although I am not wishing away her holiday!)

You might guess that the fourth thing involves booze.

Awesome job of moving this thread- I can't believe that there were 250 pages already!!!! This thread sure moves quickly.

I can't remember, is there a Keurig coffee maker in the rooms- or the small coffee pots?

Just small pots with the packets. I have been known to bring my own coffee and filters.

Here are some famiilys that will be down the next week of so. Jot down the list and just kinda read off and mumble things like 'priskillet' or 25 eels and family, or my favorite tortoni as you walk around the lobby or pool.. Sooner or later you will make some verry nice friends, Granted it coud be in the back of an official government vehicle wiht some high profile men in dark suites wanting to talk! New friends are new friends right!

Ps. We are in line for TOT right now. :)

We will be at BC/CL August 11-14 celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary!:yay:

Hi All!

Got back late Thursday night from 9 nights at the YC CL. It was great as usual. We had a standard CL room # 5192 which overlooked the hotel's main entrance (and yes, some parking lots, too). But the view was fine in my opinion as there are lots of trees.

The room has 2 queens and a daybed (a smallish one). Mousekeeping was great and left use 2 Mickey heads for the girls.

The club lounge CMs are great - especially Jean! Only on one day at 10:30 am did a CM I had not seen before come in and say he needed to turn off the tvs as the lounge was to be cleaned. I felt like he basically threw us out.

We spent 2 days at Blizzard Beach and my DH even went down Summit Plummet and has the bruises on his back/back end to prove it! He loved it.

We had ADRs at Cape May for dinner - I thought it was so so - our server was not very attentive. We also ate at the Yachtsman (and saw YCFan there). The food at the Yactsman was fantastic, but service left a lot to be desired for such an expensive restaurant. Our server, was a ditz. She actually brought out wine and drinks for our table and another table at the same time and proceeded to essentially dump a very expensive wine bottle on our table and walked away without presenting it and opening it! She opened the wine at another table, had another server open ours, and then came to take our order while the wine was being presented/opened. She actually seemed impatient with my DH when he didn't immediately order his dinner while he was inspecting the wine. I felt like I was at a coffee shop where the name of the game is to get everyone in and out as fast as possible. Obviously, her service was tipped accordingly. :sad2:

We also had ADRs has Via Napoli - wonderful food. We also went to the Yak and Yeti - great food and service there (Mango pie is to die for). We went to Akershaus (sp?) - which was truly a fun experience and the food was quite good too. Chefs de France, 1900 Park Faire and Chefs de France rounded out our ADRs - all were great. :yay:

We attended the DIS meet and met YCFAN, Robyn and Teena along with a few other DISers. It was very nice meeting everyone.

Sorry for being so wordy, but we loved our trip!:woohoo:

SAB was fun and while crowded on some of the days we went, we still managed to find chairs. We also spent time at the YC quiet pool, which was great!
Would you like to be added to the page 1 Guest List?

MikeyT- littlefoots 8/15-8/19 YC (seminar)
:worship:Please... I would absolutely love to be on that list!!

Battery- oh goodness.. LOL.. i am known in various parts of WDW due to previous battery issues...:lmao: Once you have escorts, personal CM transportation, busses called for your family, managers and strangers helping you out.. you learn your lesson well... ;)

PS.. Thank you for such an enjoyable place to come and share all about YC/BC. I love the visuals and information. I think I need to upgrade my family to here from now on... I cant wait for my solo trip..and hopefully wave to a fellow Diser :)

Wow - just a few days away! Enjoy your time on the dark side - you sound like us, adding a day here, a day there! We absolutely love La Hacienda and really hope you enjoy it too - it's now one of our favorites. And we enjoy Y&Y for lunch - good spot! I'll be interested to hear your thoughts regarding Flying Fish - we're trying it for the first time next month and it looks promising. As for missions, if you happen to see any very cool pirate stuff that I should order from IPO for the boys' surprise, let me know! :)

Adding my echo to the other comments...

Thank you Dee! The information here is fantastic, and even when we have memorized every work of page 1, it is a great place to hang out as we count the days to Disney.

You are fantastic! :cool1:

Looks great, Dee! Thanks for all your work. :surfweb:

nannette, I just looked at your sticker. What a great trip you have planned. :worship: Are you doing V&A while on platinum?

I'll be at BCV in November but don't share my dates. :confused3 This week I firmed up our BCV/AKV club trip for Feb and March. So excited about both trips :cool1:although I'm still hoping for some more nights at BCV in November. Come on waitlist!

Doesn't Lily look amazingly comfortable in her latest photo? What a darling baby.

Hi BCV23, Yes we are having dinner at the chef's table at V&A!! I'm on the fence on adding the wine paring... DD would love that so I just might do it!!! I can't wait for this trip it is going to be amazing!!

Do you not share your dates for a reason or just because it's a wait list thing??

~Nannette
